  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 08:05 PM) Not once has Nieto caught Sale or Quintana, so that plays a major part in those stats. Solid point there, didn't think about that.
  2. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 07:55 PM) You're dreaming bro. Boston got a top 75 prospect for Peavy and his FIP is worse than Danks.....Contractually we're talking about 2 differently players though...If they can't get anything good for him it's because of the contract and not because of how "awful" he is....And if that's the case, I wouldn't trade him.
  3. I'm just "Going with the Flow" right now and having fun with this incredible stretch he's having. I don't expect him to be THIS hot for the next 2 months, basically because he's been one of the better hitters in baseball in that time, and I know that's just not who he's gonna be. I do think it's plausible that he's an above average catcher from here on out though. It's also plausible he completely fails at some point too. Again, lets all just go with the Flow and enjoy how awesome him and them there magical glasses are right now.
  4. Soxtalk a week ago...Why did they let Carroll pitch another inning! Soxtalk now....Why didn't they keep him out there!
  5. The Nieto curse continues...4-16 now when he starts
  6. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 03:21 PM) I see Nieto is learning something from Tyler Flowers. How to hit a HR?
  7. Think Adrian got ahead of himself a bit there.
  8. Very nice...I'm gladly wrong in this case.
  9. Sadly he looks out...but perhaps not conclusive
  10. De Aza breaks up a no hitter....Crickets.
  11. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 12:32 PM) Although I love your Tyler Flowers art work, I have disagree here. That would still leave us 7 games out. I'm talkin Wild Card here. Certainly seems next to impossible but hell a month ago Tampa was 10.5 games back with 10 teams ahead of them, now they're 3.5 back with 5.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 11:57 AM) I agree with Dick Allen. We could win every game between now and the deadline and it's not gonna change Hahn's thinking. Even with 3 of those games being against the Tigers? Sweeping the Twins isn't really noteworthy, but even 2 of 3 against Detroit would be huge.
  13. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 11:21 AM) So we're 11 games under .500 with Nieto as catcher? That can't be right. 4-15 with Nieto as the starter....Really don't know what to think of it. Tyler, before the last 2 weeks, has been dreadful offensively so it's not like they were missing his bat. But ya it is indeed true. Tyler is the good luck charm.
  14. Tylers magic has been there all season, he's just now using it for offense. Sox are 8 games above .500 in games Tyler is the catcher.
  15. Boooo no TFlow!! Interesting fact that I would not have expected, Sox are 4-15 in games Tyler doesn't play.
  16. This is fun....And to those that don't wanna enjoy it with the rest of us....
  17. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 08:05 PM) Thats not just my opinion.....records will dictate that fact. Robin has personally cost us at least 15 wins this season (real number is probably somewhere between 20 and 25). Using the bare minimum, our record would be 65-39 without those bonehead decisions which would be the best record in baseball. The best trade we could do this week would be to find a taker for Robin. However, since that isn't going to happen, I hope we go out and block a few holes which help prevent Batman's sidekick from ruining this entire season.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 11:47 AM) This just is not how baseball works. If tyler flowers strikes out in >1/3 of his PA's like he has been all season there is just no way he's going to hit better than the low .200's unless he hits 40 home runs. But if you read my post, saying he'll strike out 1/3 of time means he'll be hitting .666!! Really though I was obviously over exaggerating a bit there. His strike outs have been down, yes, but I just wanna see him continue to barrel the ball up, that's what I care about. It's more fun to look at his 7 XBH in this era of magical glasses than it is to look at his 7 Ks Hey would ya look at that, another fun stat to throw out there.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 08:25 AM) Just focus on the strikeouts. Seriously, it's the only way he's really going to seriously improve, cutting down on those. I could really care less if he strikes out in every AB he doesn't get a hit just as long as he is indeed hitting.
  20. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 25, 2014 -> 10:11 PM) Sorry, after looking more closely at his glasses, I have now realised that he will be a perennial MVP candidate Just enjoy the ride man, that's all I'm saying. It's fun.
