QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 06:12 PM) Fred Miller completely leaving Rex out to dry. Say what you want about Benson, but most running backs wouldn't do s*** with this line.

Well the horrible call to go for it on 4th down comes back to bite us in the ass.

Benson is actually playing good so far, and Lovie takes him out of the game!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have to like the way Rex is playing so far as well.

Pedroia, Braun ROY's.
QUOTE(BearSox @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 04:39 PM) I think Tulowitzki should have been NL ROY, but then again I want to have his babies. Look at how he fared away from Coors and you'll change your mind.

White Sox decline Erstad, Myers options
Well everyone feared we would pick up Erstad's option, good think we didn't. Still a good chance he's brought back.

Report: Yankees move on Girardi
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) It doesn't shock me. Don was loyal to Torre and at first it didn't even sound like he was going to go for the job after the way the Yanks ran Joe out of town (he was expected to step in when Joe eventually retired). I'm sure Don will either get a managerial job or make way to LA where he will join Torre's staff once again (after he gets hired by the Dodgers). Mattingly's son is also in the Dodgers farm system.

Report: Yankees move on Girardi
Awful, awful hire. It has been talked about on this board for awhile of how bad of a manager Girardi is. I can't wait to hear Fathom and Whitesoxfan101's opinions. I feel real bad for Phillip Hughes, Ian Kennedy, and Joba Chamberlain right now.

World Series: Red Sox v. Rockies
QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 28, 2007 -> 11:03 PM) Well, that was boring as hell. Outside of Buehrle's no-hitter, Bonds record breaking homer, Thome's 500th homer, and Lilly's glove throw, this was about the most boring baseball season of my life. Completely agree. Out of the 7 series, only two went more than the minimum. By far the worst postseason since the playoffs expanded. And I also thought it was a s***ty season. I am glad the Red Sox won, as the NL still hasn't won back to back titles since 79-82. I'm also a big Terry Francona fan.

World Series: Red Sox v. Rockies
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 27, 2007 -> 08:37 PM) Can anyone find the league averages for runs per game over the past 10 years? I'm thinking scoring has been down league wide since the mid to late 90's which would make the numbers Fox keeps throwing at us about Coors moot. And if Coors isn't a f***ing power house anymore than why do we see such staggering home/road splits from guys like Helton, Holliday, Tulowitzki and Matsui? ANSWER ME JOE BUCK YOU COWARDLY FOOL!!! Has there ever been a time where the level of play between the American and National leagues was this lopsided?

Haunted Houses
QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 02:00 PM) There used to be a TON of good ones around Rockford but nobody does them anymore. It used to be a birthday tradition for me and my family to go out and hit as many haunted houses as we could in one night. This year I only saw an advertisement for ONE haunted house. I remember times there were 5 or 6 in town. I guess it's not really a bad thing because as I've gotten older they've gotten more lame. I don't know if it's because I got older or if they just quit trying as hard. Plus a $10 a person it starts to get a little pricey. Do they still have the one out at Lockwood park?

World Series: Red Sox v. Rockies
QUOTE(BearSox @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) It baffles me how Ikojima does so good. He doesn't really have any stuff, it's just that he that head jerk and I guess that throws all the hitters off... Well, time for Holliday to run the party. He won't be near as good next year. Those Japanese guys are good for a couple of years than fall apart. AKA Shingo, Hideo Nomo.

World Series: Red Sox v. Rockies
Is it just me, or when Joe Buck was talking about the success of Boston sports didn't he say "the White Sox made the world series." I swear he said White Sox instead of Red Sox.

Athletics want out of Oakland
QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 08:44 AM) why do you think this, in general. The gambling aspect? Because most people in Vegas are transplants, and aren't going to adopt another team (AKA Florida, Phoenix). Then you have the fact that the 51's don't draw well. Then of course the gambling aspect.

World Series: Red Sox v. Rockies
Well Colorado found out what it's like to play an AL team. I loved Fox's opening. "Kirk Gibson! They'll probably make him bunt."
