QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 09:23 AM) House Rep is not comparable to Senator. They are on a very different level. Not only is the Senate the senior house, we're also talking about the senior/higher 100 versus the lower 435. Its AAA over AA or A+. And Governors, having executive experience, I'd put well above the US House, and possibly above the US Senate as well. but Paul is a OBGYN, so that's a definite plus

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 12, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) I'm a little bit FlasoxxJim (and a little bit Rock and Roll), and certainly birds have a satiation ("I'm full") response. I think the bit about the animals "gorging" themselves in the story is a little misleading. In reading the story, I think the birds just got all gunked up in the soupy processing wastes and either sunk into the stuff or succumbed to cold because they couldn't fluff their feathers. I was just trying to make myself feel better by thinking I wasn't the only one gorging..... thanks as always, Jim

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jan 12, 2008 -> 02:06 PM) Now if this was a fat guy who gorged himself to death eating crab legs and shrimp at a Chinese buffet, I thnk the blame would be going towards the eater. If the birds were too stupid to know when to stop eating, they were not long for this world anyway. However, you are right, the fish plant should have known it would attract bird. Too bad it wasn't seagulls that died. They are just rats with wings anyway. I'm no "FlasoxxJim" but I'm pretty sure birds don't have the "I'm full" feeling us "normal" animals have...

uh...what exactly does the "initiation" entail? I guess if I have to ask, I'm not gay. -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 12, 2008 -> 11:28 AM) I don't know how you got lucky with the Groundskeeper thing, but I can only change PA to Bank Farters, if that's what you want. I see. nevermind then. Group thing was from like 2-3 years ago when I was better liked in these parts, I guess

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 12, 2008 -> 11:32 AM) I would think that after i found out that my wife was my sister, i would want to get as far away from the situation as possible. I dont know that I would be able to look past that, even if I was "fixed", thats just too much to bear. Some jerk is going to track these guys down though, and then everyone will know who it is. I see it that way too, I'm just curious....it's like finding out any dark secret about your significant other which forces you to make a decision to accept or to reject. I'm assuming that since there's no lawsuit, it's the latter. I was just curious, though. -
I'm not making fun of these people... but a guy with one of those voice talker things like the guy from south park or the episode of Scrubs where JD talks with the young smoker kid and he say "Do you want to play a game?" (from the Movie "War Games" with Matthew Broderick) came into my branch....and it creeps me out. sorry, it just does.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 12, 2008 -> 10:56 AM) Zach Braff. I was kidding. btw, my soxtalk group name still needs to be changed to "bank farters"

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jan 11, 2008 -> 04:56 PM) Watched the documentary "Rock School" last night. I would recommend it to all the rockers in here. the guy mugs to the camera WAY too much, but it is a good film nonetheless

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 11, 2008 -> 06:01 PM) Boo AMPTP. "Many of you have asked about the fate of the final episodes of Scrubs. If the strike goes on too much longer there is a good chance they will never be written or shot and the series finale will remain in the mind of our show's creator, Bill Lawrence..." wait, who wrote that? isn't there a writer's strike going on? honestly, it sounds more like positioning than reality. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, just that it makes a lot of sense to say something like this to make people made at the producers.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 12, 2008 -> 08:31 AM) This is the worst part right here. you go through all of that hassle and then have to deal with the fact that you have to accept that your wife is actually your sister. The word embarrassment just doesnt quite cover it maybe I'm crazy but: why couldn't they both get "fixed"... how long were they married? I mean, you've already consumated...you didn't know she was your sister, but because of the nature of whole adoption thing, you feel in love. I mean, it's one thing if you grew up together, but it's not like you KNEW she was your sister...he was your brother... What's England's stance on Gay Marriage? This falls under the same category, in my opinion. did they want to fight this? or were they horrified that they had made this mistake? lastly....what are the odds? -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 10, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) Ok, cool. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to mess me up. *if "symptoms" last for more than 48 hours, call a friend and brag.

your best bet (my wife, the Registered Dietician, talking through me) is to just balance your diet. Like some said before, you're mostly #1ing or #2ing stuff out. every meal should be balanced with a fruit, a vegetable, a low-fat (not non-fat) dairy, and then watch your starch/carb and protein consumption. Most likely you'll land all the vitamins you need. I'm an indoctrinated fool, so if you have any other questions, ask away.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 11, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) Well, kinda right. you could argue this younger generation is in favor of massive changes but older people like the status quo. what subject are we talking about again? rinse and repeat this statement for 99% of things out there

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jan 10, 2008 -> 08:25 PM) Nope...there are too many variables even with healthy people. Even the healthiest people get cancer, get hit by cars, or just get themselves a real bad bug. Insurance should be about prevention. If you use it for prevention, your rates should go down. That's what makes me the angriest. If people could afford to go to the doctor and eye doctor once a year and the dentist twice a year, for free, it should be able to save millions of dollars down the road by catching things earlier. This way, some ailments won't be to the advanced stage where treatments are ridiculously expensive. Right, but they do genetic screenings all the time. If you're one of the lucky ones and your genes are "good", why not get a break for it? I'd definitely be inclined to marry someone else with relative health...and so on. /green I mean, I half-heartedly think this is a good idea. I just don't know if I buy into the "everyone should get health care at the same $$ amount". Basic health care coverage for anyone under 18, seems reasonable to me.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 10, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) And...according to Ron Paul's early 90's news letters...black people too. We better, because otherwise "the animals are coming." The New Republic hasn't had ANY problems with journalism in the past....

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2008 -> 03:02 PM) thank you. This is a tax increase on the non-voting poor, to benefit the middle class. so they probably won't know about it anyway? when do we start?
-
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jan 10, 2008 -> 01:07 PM) We already have "vice taxes" for things like cigarettes and booze. You can just increase/expand those. There's no way the tobacco and alcohol lobby will stand for increases on taxes up front. It has to be done back end. Tax breaks for healthy lifestyles.
