QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 23, 2007 -> 03:10 PM) Yikes.. I've been so wrapped up in baby crap I didn't even know this. Thanks for the info. Now I'll be stuck on the House of Jigsaw site for the next month. isn't there something unethical about going to Horror movies while pregnant? although it's slightly lower on the scale of taking your actual child to those movies. Ever wonder why people take their kids with them? I mean, is it really THAT hard to get a babysitter? or is the movie THAT friggin' groundbreaking that your child of 3 needs to be exposed to it at a young age? I sat behind a couple at King Kong that brought the whole f-ing family along...3 kids ages 1-6. The kids were terrified for all 13.5 hours of the movie. I subsequently passed gas on them the entire time. It seemed to knock out the youngest one from every once and a while. That was the best part of the movie.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 23, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) Something in a good way? I actually sat through the pirated stream of Superbad that was posted here a couple days ago. My wife thought she'd like to see it because George Micahel from Arrested Development is in it, but it's a little lowbrow and rough around the edges for her. Me on the other hand. . . the film did have it's moments. The bit about the kid's addiction to drawing a particular part of anatomy over and over - and then the two montages of all of the various renditions about killed me. "I had just finished drawing the triumphant vein-ey one. . . " although, you could see through the back of the paper that the little girl was holding....it definitely wasn't triumphant or veigny.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 23, 2007 -> 12:30 PM) That it does. I still get choked up over that one scene in Brokeback Gilboa Mountain when Jonathan turns to David and says, "I wish I knew how to quit Jew." if they were irish, they would have f-ed the sheep instead of each other....

Does anyone know what it would signify if a company announced a repurchase program for their shares? is this healthy? or is this a sign of a bad economic future?

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) Two completely random questions: -When a police officer pulls you over, what rights does a cop have as far as searching your car? Do they have to have some "reasonable suspicion" or are they alowed to just go through your car? -Any good ideas on how to shrink a t-shirt? The shirt is 100% cotton, and I don't need to shrink it that much -- it's a medium and I'm sort of right in-between a men's small and a medium. I got a few ways you can fit into a men's large... wait, that came out wrong.

QUOTE(Stocking @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 05:07 AM) not true. Been here on the beeeg island for 8 months now. It is an amazing place with amazing people but its not for everyone. It is expensive but not much more than southern california. Each island is different, which one were you thinking. oahu=city maui=suburbs big island=country kuai=nature. do they really call it "the big island"?

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 10:06 AM) You would WANT to be buried in a mine? I understand the families grief and all, but do they really think that after 2 weeks there is any chance that these men are alive? 2 weeks with no food and water is tough to begin with, but in those conditions would be near impossible. not to mention another 3 people dying. I understand the "never give up" mentality, but unfortunately they signed on to this job and knew the risks.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 14, 2007 -> 04:27 AM) This movie cut out so much of the book it was borderline ridiculous. Obviously you cant have everything from the book put into the movie but this one had so little and than the parts it didnt skip completely werent near complete at all. Overall I enjoyed the movie because Im a Harry Potter fan but they need a different director for the next. 100% disagree. The writers are the one's that handle content. This director made the Potter movies FINALLY have big screen clout. The first 4 were dull to look at (fun to be a part of the story no less)...but the 5th film finally had the visial edge it needed to compete with LOTR and Narnia, imo.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 09:22 AM) If there are no small passages in the Bible, how do you square the omission and or subordination of the Deuterocanonicals and the so-called Biblical Apocrypha (including Tobit, Judith, Esdras portions of Esthera nd Daniel, Ecclesiasticus, Wisdom, Baruch, Maccabees and others) from various versions of the Bible? I'm, obviously, less suited to discuss the living, practicing, heeding-the-calling, aspects of faith. But I think you're assessment is quite good. Here's more or less how canonization of books in the bible works for most protestants. Each book must meet all 4 requirements: 1. Apostolic Origin — attributed to and based on the preaching/teaching of the first-generation apostles (or their close companions). 2. Universal Acceptance — acknowledged by all major Christian communities in the ancient world (by the end of the fourth century). 3. Liturgical Use — read publicly when early Christian communities gathered for the Lord's Supper (their weekly worship services). 4. Consistent Message — containing a theological outlook similar or complementary to other accepted Christian writings. (note: there are many books not included in the bible that satisfy 2-3 of these and are interesting reads.)
