  1. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Braves make an offer, but if he's getting 8-200, probably not. I don't really believe he'll get that much, though.
  2. QUOTE(jheath160 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) Try this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/queenalikanakela/258799947/ It has a new "outlaw" of his listed...maybe you can get more info there? I've sent a message requesting comment and clarification. If I receive nothing in the next couple of days, I'll call. When I write about the ACLU card, I will refer to you as a "Friend of the Office," and I hope you don't mind.
  3. That is rather curious as well. I'll contact those people tonight and see what I learn about why they're on his s***list. Gonzalez/Daley are obvious. The FBI agent isn't, despite his straight-forward claim. Thanks mate!
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) I never said Atlanta would. I'm saying, get rid of Contreras. That's it. Terribly off-topic. I love your avatar and always have and always will, Slav.
  5. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 02:30 PM) Ya don't say! He's so good, he not only revitalized Willie Harris, he turned him into Gold!
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) Uuum, can we please get rid of Contreras now. Haha, Atlanta wouldn't want him.
  7. I have faith in Schuerholz knowing what he's doing, if this goes through. He's not picking up Arroyo to be an Ace, but to be adequate, and he has been.
  8. http://frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/redsi...earer-still.asp Jo Jo Reyes and Escobar are, allegedly, the offer.
  9. QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 02:19 PM) It looks like they'll package this prospect along with the return from Boston for Dye and add Contreras to the Marlins for Cabrera. I think I heard Levine say this. Not sure ....I wasn't listening that closely. That s*** will never, ever happen.
  10. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) Just read some red sawx board where a guy wrote that ESPN insider just said.. Manny for Dye-Garland. Most posts following think it's BS and so do I. Ha ha
  11. I believe that those looking for "2006 Crede" to "regain value" will be very disappointed. Nobody's going to give much for him, even if he has a good first half next year.
  12. I think the title is appropriate, but if anyone's offended by the contextual use of the word rape, feel free to edit it to say, "The Mystery of Farhad Khoiee-Abbasi"
  13. Okay. Here is the article I wrote today. http://officeoftheindependentblogger.com/2...ly-being-raped/ I won't convert all the hyperlinks, but you can just go to the site if you want to see a few more pictures. I am thinking that I will have to file a FOIA request to the Bureau as I imagine, if I get a response, it'll be the Bureau telling me to file an FOIA request. It's a very strange card, and I'd just like to know what it's about. Is it true? So he had a meeting? What happened in the investigation? You know, he doesn't have a wife anymore, so what's it all about?
  14. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 08:36 AM) It's looking like the trade is imminent, I'm sure this is how it went. Theo: Gimme Dye, take Wily Mo Kenny: No way Theo: Dye for Wily Mo and this kid Delcarmen, you know you love him. Kenny: ...... Theo: Hello? Kenny: Make it Masterson and its a deal. Theo: No, I'll talk to you later. Kenny: Wait, let me sleep on it. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz This takes us up to present day. We will see Pena/Delcarmen for Dye done today by the deadline. Pena is Kenny's kind of guy. I'm sure he's thrilled to take him.
  15. I don't think, offhand, that Willits is still hitting .352. Just thought I'd let you know.
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 10:44 PM) I couldn't have asked for a better game to be a complete douche at. What a blast. SCOOPZ
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 10:11 PM) I think it's time to open a Schuerholz love forum for Pratt. Haha, with Randy Orton and Francisco Liriano subforums. But really. I've never truly understood what the deal is with trading within the division unless it's, you know, Babe Ruth to the Red Sox (not that it was the same format), and when I read about it, that was just reinforced for me.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) One thing I was thinking about and wanted to throw out there, when talking about a players "worth" you have to gauge their demand. I counted 3 teams who have starting second basemen with worse numbers than Tada, and four if you include the Mets. One of them is Cleveland, so I doubt you can include them as a possibility. That only leaves Seattle, Philly, and the Mets. You also have to throw in the fact that the team who owns Tada at the end of the year only has an exclusive 15 day negotiating window with that player, and cannot offer him arbitration at the end of the season. So they will get nothing for a guy that will probably spend 60ish games in their uniform. You can knock out Seattle as wanting to pay a lot, because Tada is only a minimal upgrade over Jose Lopez. Really that leaves the Mets and Phillies as possible destinations, who might he willing to pay something for Iguchi. The Mets seem to be looking at pitching and outfield help, despite the Valentin injury. Philly seems to only need Tada for a month, as they expect Utley back in a month. Now realistically, what marketplace for Iguchi was out there, and who exactly was going to give up something good for him, because I don't see it. I doubt we would've gotten much of anything from Cleveland for Iguchi, but I don't understand what the harm would be in dealing Tadahito to Cleveland. I know a certain GM who traded a pitcher coming off a great year to the Phillies despite the fact that they're in the same division because they were the only ones who would, and could, take Kevin Millwood and they needed to unload him (or, more specifically, his salary). It's not like you'd be trading Alex Rodriguez within the division.
  19. Yeah, I wouldn't marry a Cougar, but they'd know that from the beginning.
  20. No, not to me. Not in that situation. Yes, my friend, I'd step out onto that limb. Not completely easily, but if I'm the man in charge of such a decision, and torturing is the only thing left, absolutely, and I wouldn't be the first Good Man to ever make that call.
  21. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 07:55 PM) Man, he was doing one of his teachers while in school. Man, this guy just has everything going for him. He's not only a super good baseball player, but he was f'ing the teacher inbetween practices in high school. You're a Cougar man, too?
  22. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 05:27 PM) Is Schuerholz breast feeding you? Jesus, you've been hanging on him for about a week now. Schuerholz is my Liriano. He's also very good at finding Latin American players, by the way. He would've signed King Felix but Felix loved Freddy too much. Other Latin players -- Furcal, most recently, and Andrus come to mind -- too, so you should be all over him. The truth is that Schuerholz is the model of not just good but outstanding GMing, and that is entirely relevant to the matter at hand. Besides, you have no room to lecture me about admiring another organization.
  23. Why on Earth does he get a nickname? He's not good enough to have earned a bad nickname yet.
