  1. Smart deal for Atlanta, too. Wish we had horses at several positions so we could truly deal from a position of strength.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) Wana bet someone does.. ? Don't tempt me.
  3. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 11:26 PM) Actually, he was signed to compete with Anderson for the starting job, remember? Thats what the organization told us, right? Personally, I'm glad we saw so little of BA. The little I saw showed me he still had the same hideous swing and approach that he had last year.
  4. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 04:53 AM) I'll throw a comparison out there - Orlando Hudson. and I'm obviously not talking defensively here. What brought you to that conclusion? (My first instinct is to say, No way, but I want to see what you looked at to get you there.)
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) Um, yeah, because no one ever, anywhere, ever has any interest in the treatment of high-level prisoners. And there are no standing laws and treaties requiring us to give those people access to them. And no one would ever expect to see that man on trial anywhere. These bruises? Oh, yes, he fell down some stairs. I am looking at it strictly from the President and CIA's point of view. When Al Gore was asked by Clinton whether or not they should go after BLANK TERRORIST in a Snatch, Clinton pointed out it was illegal and Gore said, "Of course it's illegal -- that's why it's a covert action." Yeah, those bruises are from the stairs. Or, better yet, that's why his capture was a covert action and no, you can't see him yet [ever?]. I just can't believe you can't say, "No, he won't be tortured," and wink to the British. They're the British. They're just like CIA, only sexier.
  6. Bill Clinton, you idiot. The solution is simple: promise you won't torture him, and break that promise "behind their backs". That's why it's a covert action. Same advice for Bush. It's not like they'd do a ton of snooping anyway into what happened of bin Laden after his arrest.
  7. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 04:18 AM) I read that this morning and thought nothing of it.. the man actually says that he's pulling it out of thin air. Ditto.
  8. Michaels is platooning with him, I think.
  9. Wikipedia says there's a debate over what constitutes a vibrator and what constitutes...something else... Are we allowed to use....the....D....word....?
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 04:13 PM) No.. my thought was something worse.. My friend had the same thought, but I thought, for these purposes, "Vibrator" was about the same.
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 04:11 PM) I should have just said the "Chicago Vibrator" You thought of that too? My, how many sick people we have on this Earth...! Am I the only one pure and noble of heart and soul? So alone. So alone. So alone.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) That's because I usually hide them much better...
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) Not the first time I've made a mistake, and definitely not the last. So sorry... I think it's the first time you've ever made a mistake.
  14. Has he been pitching in the Arizona League lately or something? I'll miss you, Tadahito. Good luck!
  15. I'm glad that we, at least, are the representatives of the White Sox on the poll.
  16. It'll be great when we bring him in to be a Coach. He sure helped Buehrle last year. But anyway, that's enough of a hijack, I think.
  17. Really, I think we should extend Kenny Williams until he's Jose Contreras' age and hope he doesn't lose his forkball.
  18. Thank God we won with the chance we got. Also: do a better job drafting, scouting and developing. Which means fire KW and much of the scouting development and bring in an outsider from an organization that's good at such things.
  19. Our scouting and drafting and developing isn't going to get better because Kenny Williams made an example of Duane Schaffer.
  20. Besides the fact that Schaffer believes he was used as a scapegoat, there's the truth that as long as Kenny and Reinsdorf are still here, we're still going to avoid expensive first round picks and will be going after big former football players with a bunch of powah.
  21. QUOTE(Soxy @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) Well, I always speak the truth. I didn't think of it like that at all until you two said it. You guys are grozz.
  22. Just a figurehead that isn't going to be replaced by anyone who'll bring substantial change. A scapegoat. That's all.
  23. QUOTE(Soxy @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 03:01 PM) It looks like a vibrator. That's what one of my co-workers just said.
