Dye trade rumors heating up
Why would Dye for Billingsley straight up be bad? Billingsley has a good future ahead of him. He should be starting now. Dye has been garbage all year long and is a free agent. I'd love to get more for him than just Billingsley but if the Dodgers said, "Give us Dye, we'll give you Billingsley" I'd do it, if nothing else were available.

Who called him a failed major leaguer? I mean, I'm predicting bust -- or "Crede at-best, but not for several years of mediocrity." But I don't know who called Fields a failed major leaguer already.

Kind of. If he's going to beat us -- and he is -- I hope it's in style.

I like what Ausmus did. If Ausmus took a steroid here or there, he'd be a great ballplayer.

http://www.news24.com/News24/World/News/0,...2127232,00.html I really don't think it's that big a deal. At least, not the "sir" part, although the rest is somewhat disrespectful.

Well a few positives I noticed at the yard yesterday...
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 11:29 AM) You can however be one of the best pitchers in baseball for over two years and running. Go figure. He's one of the best if you're going by wins solely, sure. I don't think he's top twenty if you're going by wins + other details, like Ks, WHIP, etc. etc.

Happy 20,000 posts to me.
I'm more interested in your IM conversations. "The reason you dislike [blank] player is because you only like white players." "LOL" "I'll bet you'd take that fat white guy we have at first base in AAA over Albert Pujols" "Rogo?" "ROGO!" "Hell yeah!" Happy 20K.

I'm not trying to badger you but I wonder what on Earth you're talking about with his "brains." The reason people talk about Maddux brains is twofold: he'd do things like give Craig Biggio a pitch that he was looking for in a certain count so he could homer just so that he can give him a different pitch in the playoffs in the same count + situation, just in case they happen to face each other. (I believe it was Biggio, or Bagwell.) Or he'd be "in your head with you" and throw you a changeup when you want a fastball or a curveball when you expect a changeup, etc. etc. You can't "outsmart" a hitter with one good pitch.

Garland only has three pitches. Only one of them is particularly good. He isn't the cerebral Greg Maddux. Not at all. PS: I'm sure there are plenty of people the same way, with negativity taken to the extreme but fairly normal in real life. COUGHtitoCOUGH

Yes, in response to the latter question.

What would happen if we still had Freddy Garcia?
We're not getting anything from Floyd.

Jon Garland + Greg Maddux should never be in the same sentence. I agree about Iguchi and Thome (though we're not trading Thome, IMO -- I don't think he'd waive his NTC: besides, we need our big lefty bat). I'm surprised you have no criticism over Fields' should've-been-an-error yesterday.
