  1. Sorry, they were good for quite awhile, if I recall correctly, after they got their hair cut.
  2. AJ is a pain in the ass. Nothing worse. Dukes is a garbage human being. No thanks. His closest comparables -- oh, Barrett, Everett, Sheffield -- are nowhere near as bad as he is. Elijah Dukes is his own special monster.
  3. Dear Toby Hall, Stop playing. There's no reason to sacrifice yourself this year. Go get your surgery.
  4. I love Verlander. I used to think he was overrated or a Success Against Bad Teams type but he's good, damn!
  5. QUOTE(Al Lopez @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:53 AM) Ya think Brave fans are asking "But where would he play?" I'll bet their announcers aren't! QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:51 AM) I disagree with the sentiment that you have to deal now to get value. It's quite the contrary in my opinion. If you wait until the deadline, teams will be desperate to add players like Dye and Buehrle for the stretch and will likely overpay for the guy(s) they feel will push them over the hump. Just a quick question on Griffey to the Braves: Griffey's home is in Florida, correct? Also, where do the Braves have spring training? If the Braves have their spring training in Florida, this was really a no-brainer on his part, this doesn't suprise me in the slightest. Well, take certain situations. Let's say either the Dodgers or the Padres fall out of the NL West race. Then there's less bidding between them and the team that is now more confidently in the lead might not worry so much about getting Jermaine Dye. We wait too long we're going to outthink ourselves and wind up with goddamn Gavin Floyd or nothing, the nearest equivelant.
  6. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:24 AM) Not about him going there, just about him waiving his NTC to go there. I read about that a couple of weeks ago.
  7. What angle are they setting up by putting Foley in the title match?
  8. I think they might get a homer in. Hamels gives up the long ball, but that's about it. Seriously, though: Perfect Game is very possible.
  9. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 10:40 AM) +1 Nobody wants to go back to the "The Kids Can Play" rebuilding bulls***. Not with a team that may be underachieving at the plate, but still has a ton of talent. And especially not Sox fans, who can go three generations without seeing a championship. Our starting pitching is very solid this year and our lineup is full of veterans who can hit (some proficiently). Even with a shaky 'pen, this team has more than enough talent to still make the playoffs at this point. If they start playing like they care, they'll get there. Right. If they play like they care, they'll leapfrog over half a dozen better teams. The problem is they don't care enough. Gotcha.
  10. They talk about Griffey to Atlanta all the time in the rumor sheets nowadays. Good for Atlanta.
  11. Further in the article he says that he did NOT pay them anything.
  12. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) "I did it for The Rock" "I did it for the people."
  13. You know what this reminds me of? When Kane threw JR into the fire and they never mentioned it again. Just like they said, "s***, what have we done -- what a stupid f***ing storyline!"
  14. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) I have been expecting since his announcement for Steve Austin to come down the ramp interrupting Vince McMahon's promo about how everyone hates him and can kiss his ass ending with Steve stunning him Austin has been completely and utterly predictable since 2000. Still entertaining, somewhat.
  15. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) Reason for this would be.... It's a joke by "WrestleCrap."
  16. It's something that's been on my mind. I'm just saying.
  17. The Dream's promo sucked. So did that one obnoxious guy that kept yelling You Suck! I have a lot of criticisms of Vince McMahon but destroying people's lives isn't generally one I'd give him, especially since he got a ton of money. He's always been good to old wrestlers signing them to deals just so that they would have some money for their family (see: Foley's books, forgot in which he says this) and he does some good charity work.
  18. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) Thome didn't play tonight. Pay attention to the games, don't just bury your head in the stat sheets. That's right. I also hope that's sarcasm.
  19. I didn't hear Foley! What'd he say? What'd Hart say? Captain Lou Albano? eww.
