  1. That's a poor analysis by Whalen. It's also been covered in a thread I made a few days ago. Should still be in Palehose Talk/
  2. QUOTE(bigred3535 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 12:23 AM) Can Thome, Dye or Konerko strike out Lance Berkman? None of them have been performing up to standards set last year (except perhaps Thome) but the blame for this team falls evenly among every single player, as well as the coaches and management. That is never true. For any team. Definitely not this one.
  3. I love Upton as a hitter but Upton can't field at all. At all. Besides, there's absolutely no reason to trade three of our best prospects for him. Sorry. I don't mind the whole "sell high on Jenks" idea though. Just not for BJ Upton/
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) This thread is almost as bad as your grammar. But would it be as bad as this team?!
  5. The more I read about Paul Molitor the more I like him.
  6. What on Earth is an ISOD? I can't believe Lieber struck out the first seven hitters. That's nuts. That's not Lieber!
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 06:26 PM) That team's going to win the NL Central by 7 games. All of the guys they've spent money on have been decent, and their call-ups in Marshall and Pie are looking like damn solid major league players. This baseball season was a nightmare from literally the first batter of the season. Oh come on, what about Milwaukee?
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 05:39 PM) Good grief Jermaine....that fastball was right down the plate. Took the words right out of my mouth
  9. Phil Garner must hate Ozzie Guillen. Ozzie's gotten the better of him in the Series, in last year's season series, in the All-Star Game, and they had problems with each other in the 1990s when Garner was in Milwaukee, didn't they? Ha! f*** Phil Garner
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 02:39 PM) I love the lineup today. I was going over the gamethread from the beginning -- just got home -- and saw this. See? There's nothing Ozzie can do with this crap.
  11. Dye's problem now is that he can't catch up to fastballs.
  12. http://www.chicagoreader.com/features/stories/copcar/ If this had been a white child... -- Just another disgrace for Chicago Police.
  13. "he might not be good at baseball, but he can run the bases!"
  14. Wow, I didn't realize it was that close statistically. Good work!
  15. He's made some changes recently! But what kind of changes do you expect him to make that he hasn't already made unless we get some new guys? I don't believe Ozzie deserves zero blame but I don't give him much of it at all. It does shock me but listen: this is a bad team. Older, slower, and injured. The bullpen is garbage. I don't think anyone could lead this team too far.
  16. Owens hits the ball so weakly. Oh, man, he is hard to watch.
  17. I'm not picking fights. I suppose I misunderstood. I thought you guys were criticizing him (or the move, even) because of the velocity. My bad! I will say this: I'm not as big a fan of Cooper and the organization's approach to pitchers. "Don't throw as hard, throw strikes." Throwing hard doesn't help alone, but smoke 'em if you've got em! Just hypothetically: I think we'd ruin someone like, say, Justin Verlander if he came here, with our "throw strikes, not heat" approach.
  18. "I know that's 99% on the players, but Ozzie still gets blame from me!" You're grasping at straws.
  19. Criticizing Danks now is stupid. But I imagine that his decrease is from Cooper. Cooper telling him to throw more strikes! Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely not a surefire good thing.
  20. PS: haven't you said he's done a good job managing this year? s***, the last several games have been close until relievers came in and gave up ten runs. You can't blame Ozzie for that.
  21. I half-believe that you make these posts in an effort to get momentum on your side with regard to "Ozzie sucks!" But more seriously, I don't know what the hell you expect Ozzie to do. He's criticized directly and with subtlety; he's promoted and demoted; he's changed the lineup around. As he said today (or yesterday), "It's June, and nobody wants to trade." You're delusional if you think there's much he can do right now.
  22. Danks fastball is good. What're you talking about fathom?
  23. Hey Fathom, Please stop trying to manufacture some outrage over Ozzie Guillen in an effort to get him fired. Sincerely, Gregory Pratt
