  1. I really don't like the thought of firing Guillen, or of Guillen leaving.
  2. Let's not get our hopes up if they win today.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 10:36 PM) Chris Young with another mammoth homer tonight. That's the sonofab**** that's standing between Morris and a shutout/win. f***!
  4. The problem with getting Crawford now is it destroys our pitching depth when you know we won't be signing any free agent pitchers
  5. ThereisnowaywecouldgetCrawfordandstillkeepDanks+Gio
  6. AT LEAST ABREU IS DOING GOOD FOR MY FANTASY TEAM
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 07:38 PM) 2004 postseason, game 7 of the ALCS
  8. I'm tired of watching our players pull up five steps from first base.
  9. QUOTE(GreenSox @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) I think it's more Ozzie - Ozzie likes free swingers, including, if not especially, those with no power. Ozzie was a free swinger with no power and Ozzie considers Ozzie to have been a good hitter (he was a well below-average hitter). Ozzie doesn't like the walkers, he likes the slap hitters. That's what we've got a team full of - hitters that swing at everything. And I see no evidence that Ozzie or Walker is interested in more OBP or plate patience. Ozzie always talks about how he used to hit ninth for a reason and makes fun of himself as a bad hitter. So I don't see where you get what you're saying
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 07:37 AM) When did I flip on McCarthy? I said if you can trade for Soriano AND extend his contract, then you trade McCarthy for him in a second. I don't remember the second part but I'll take your word for it. Still, you jumped from, "We can't trade McCarthy!" to "We need a spark!"
  11. Crede's not all-star caliber. Not even healthy. The reason some people are so excited about Fields is they're tired of Crede popping up softly to the right side. One person told me so explicitly, and I know that others agree.
  12. Just so we're clear: I don't think it's Ozzie's fault because he doesn't play music anymore after they lose. I was being very sarcastic with my title. I do think it's interesting if he's gotten tighter. He needs to relax with his players. That said, I've heard that most of his players are still with him, but he should loosen up more. He really doesn't have the horses to win, though. Terrible, terrible f***ing bullpen. Terrible station-to-station team. Terrible bench.
  13. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 09:19 PM) The only person in the last year to disagree with that statement is Kenny Williams. What about Gavin?
  14. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) That's assuming Citron does not make all three outs in one at-bat.
  15. No, an overhauling of the team would be "what the doctor ordered."
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:01 PM) Let me just go ahead and throw a bat at your head/shoulder and we'll see what word you come up with. How's your knee?
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 07:52 PM) DP to end the inning. Suck it Jeter. AJ got annihilated on the play too. Annihilated is a bad word to use in that situation but I guess it's a good word in the East Side
  18. QUOTE(GOD @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 07:46 PM) Anyone else notice the Great "Doc" Halladay gave up 8 runs to the D'Rays tonight. What's Hawks explanation for that? He's hurt. Forearm. Also: Devil Rays have a good young offense. They killed Steve Irwin!
  19. I don't want to sound like an asshole but I don't care what anyone says about how someone "looks," be it Kenny Williams or Jason Gage or Rosie O'Donnell. Anybody with that WHIP in the International League coupled with the track record Floyd's got has absolutely no short-term future in the American League and they probably have no long-term future in baseball. Gavin Floyd is a bust.
  20. I wish it were my best friend starting a rehab assignment
  21. Your best friend is starting a AAA assignment
