QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) You know what was REALLY weird about that? When he said that, I was actually listening to the NAO theme on iTunes... I listened to it twice in a row. I loved the NAO. I hated that F'ing movie. I hated it. Which isn't to take away from your ability to enjoy it, or anything.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) Your ass better call somebody. Best entrance ever. I was hoping someone would pick me up. Is anyone a KISS fan here? If so, got any funny stories about your wife banging Gene Simmons?

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:12 PM) Adam Sandler's movies have sucked since Big Daddy. He needs to go back to his old style. I'm sick of watching him as a middle-aged dad dealing with whatever the gosh darn old men deal with. Mr. Deeds was all right. I don't think I've enjoyed any of his other new movies. Hell, I can't remember them, really. Except for Punch-Drunk.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) I'm not sure if enough people know who he is. He's the she/he/she in Wedding Singer. I Punch-Drunk Love is easily my favorite movie.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) I thought I'd get some love for my "perfect" line, but I guess not. I've been trying to bait some wrestling talk all chat. Eric Bischoff is a homo!

David Arquette wants to play for the White Sox. Says he wants to be our Number One Starter. How can we lose?

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 08:01 PM) I think they should throw their arms up in disgust every time Garcia gives up a bomb. See how our chubby pothead starter likes that. That big fat lazy declining player wouldn't like it one bit!

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) Speaking of the biker stuff, I went to one Smackdown! filmed at the All-state Arena one time a few years back, and it was like the Undertaker's first appearance in a while, and he rode out on his bike. I was pretty excited. I hate that sh-t on the Undertaker. I guess I'm too old...

Hey fathom: was I the only one incredibly disappointed by Undertaker's entrace to Wrestlemania this year, with the Classic theme and entrance but the same stupid biker bulls-it?

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) I'd be thrilled if our SP and LF were on a different team next season. It's too guys that have seen their physical skills deteriorate way too soon in their career. Freddy will show you. I promise you. Put Mackowiak out there, and next time he lets a ball drop in front of him, Garcia will shake and TURN INTO A RAGING HULKAMANIAC ON THE MOUND!

Uribe Benched for "Lack of Intensity"?
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) You cringe on every ball hit to him, but you'd rather see Ozuna play SS? I said that, Hulk?
-
what is your ideal offseason for the sox
I'll bet someone unexpected on this team gets traded in the offseason in a major move akin to Rowand Thome.
-
Uribe Benched for "Lack of Intensity"?
I cringe on almost every ball that is hit to Cintron simply because I know his reputation.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:31 PM) And Anderson is hitting in front of him. Completely unnecessary, IMO.

You know, whatever, it's a ridiculous myth. Bill Clinton was whipping Bush like a government mule pre-Perot, and he beat him with Perot. Clinton went down significantly in the polls, and so did Bush, while Perot rose in the polls. There's nothing to suggest that Clinton wouldn't have beaten Bush, and everything to suggest that Clinton was going to dominate the President. I'm sick and tired of people saying, "LOL WITHOUT PEROT CLINTON ISN'T PRESIDENT LOL!" when it's blatantly untrue -- or, at least, it's unsuggested by the evidence, if I may use my own words.

QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) 2 shae, but where is he now? ahahahahaha lol Not touche. Nomo deserves credit for opening the door to pitchers from Japan, but Ichiro opened the door for position players to play everyday, as before him there was a doubt that guys from Japan -- perceived generally to be smaller and weaker by arrogant American scouts -- could play fully and well in a longer, tougher American season, with wider variance in temperatures and all of the things that come from playing in America. Different circumstances between position players and pitchers, although Nomo was a pioneer of sorts, and a helluva pitcher. Before the Onset of Suck.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) The election was Clinton's whether or not Perot was in the race. I think Perot kept Clinton from hitting a majority and kept Bush from hitting 40%. Thank you. So few people believe that, and it drives me mad. Clinton and Perot sang a similar song. Had similar backgrounds. Were both tooting about change. Blasted away at Bush, but generally respected each other. What, because fiscal Conservatives were probably Perot's biggest backers, all of a sudden they'd all have voted for Bush over Clinton because there's a bullsh-t myth that Republicans -- at the official level -- believe in saving money? It's a more disgusting myth than the Tale of Robert F. Kennedy -- the Idealist Crusader! RFK is characterized as some Roman hero who came to inspire the nation on principle PJ -- post-Johnson! He was a shameless piece of opportunism, that man. Came in pretending to be an anti-war candidate after Eugene McCarthy had done the real heavy lifting, but when your father is a Mobster and your brother's a dead President, I guess you get that sort of sympathy.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 09:27 AM) I'm not a smoker and I also don't get on my soap box about it, but I cannot imagine wanting a cig when it's 105 degrees outside. I know a fellow who has been sneaking out of his home to smoke crack several times a day for about a week now. Completely out of his mind. He's going to have a heart attack and a heat stroke.

QUOTE(Hatchetman @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) you have to play 10 years to be eligible for the HOF. I'm sure there are all sorts of exceptions. There've gotta be. Always are. If Ichiro plays for four more years, though, I'm absolutely sure he'll make it in, and I'm sure that Ichiro will play at a very respectable level for four years. His work ethic is second to none in MLB.
