Okay, it's good to know that he didn't always suck and it wasn't just my imagination.

QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) Is that judgment based on numbers or bias? Give me a healthy Thomas over Thome no doubt about it. Both.

Should be fun. This is my first gamethread. Hopefully it starts off well. The game will be on Comcast. -
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) I disagree. But I'm not gonna get into it about Frank. This has already been beaten to death. You're entitled to disagree. I just happen to dislike Frank and think he's whiny. You like him and think he's not. It's not a big deal.

QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) i believe he was v. good very good at k's if i recall. but he doesnt have a spot on the returning champs roster I know that. I acknowledged he's horrible now! I was only wondering about his past. I know he's got no real future in baseball.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) Why? He's always been a "Me" player, and I think it'd be fitting if he didn't reach that goal. I guess his statements about the Sox organization makes me deem him unworthy of gaining that goal.

http://www.slate.com/id/2117846 That article is one of the best I've ever read on Slate. It's about North Korea, and it really opens up your eyes as to the Human Rights conditions there. QUOTE(WCSox @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 04:13 PM) You're right. We should leave them alone and let them fulfill their promise of nuking Israel. All things considered, I don't think they'd nuke Israel. Israel has, after all, nukes as well as the third holiest city in Islam. -
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) In their Prime? Thomas, no doubt. Right now? Thome, no doubt. Oh! One more note, mate. Thomas believes he's in his prime now, remember?!
-
QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) Right now at this stage? Man its tuff to say cause how do we know how they would do healthy? but any idea on who's older? I'd say thome right now, just cause im a bigger fan of his attitude. but really, there almost like the same player in my book right now. Yeah, all things considered, Thome's attitude pushes me toward him, since they're both very similar.
-
QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 08:25 PM) Agreed. Healthy thome > healthy thomas. At this stage. I believe. Maybe not before.. but now. go thomas tho, get your way to 500 I personally root against his getting to Five Hundred. ::shrug::
-
Which one would you take, if you had to choose between them? I'd choose Thome, personally.
-
You know, all things considered, I'd still take a Healthy Thome over a Healthy Thomas.

HE'S DOING REALLY BAD!

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 06:24 PM) I strongly disagree. Putin is the best thing for Russia since Gorby. He has done more to promote real business in that country than all his predecesors combined. Corruption is still rampant but being pushed down. People are making money. There is a real middle class now. Putin barks pretty loud, but he has been a great leader for that country. Yeah, well, that very well may be true, but he's someone to keep an eye on as he seems to have his fingers in every cookie jar.

When I was younger, I had a certain fondness for Nomo -- you know, when he was with the Dodgers. I've got absolutely no clue why, in retrospect, but there was something about him that made me fond of him, and, I think, aside from Robin Ventura, he's the first player whose name I learned. Now he's absolutely horrible. I saw him pitch, and there was -- I felt -- a sadness in his eyes, as if he's, you know, sad that he went from being good to being crap. But I was wondering -- am I just confused, and because I was young, something superficial made me think he was good, or was he good years ago but horrible now?

Sox vs KC - 3/26 Game Thread

Hawk and DJ are talking about Greg Maddux and he great he was because he never cared about people stealing base as he trusts his pitching to take out the man at the plate, and they were saying that Thornton should take that example and be like Maddux. Well, maybe he should take some of Maddux's middle-aged talent instead. -

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) Is Thornton going to pitch another inning? This dude needs to throw more than one inning. Yep. He's pitching again, and back to form, letting the leadoff man double. Uribe just got a pretty good out on the runner going to third. And made a nice pick. Two outs. In Thornton's first inning of throwing today, he nearly gave up a homer but it barely missed to Left. Everytime he pitches I'm going to be on pins and needles. -
Hey, look. IT'S DAMN GOOD POLICY!

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) LOL. Thome was truckin. Great tourney game on FYI. Thome's mobility on the basepaths has impressed me about as much as how well he's hitting. Has Frank Thomas had any at-bats this Spring? -

Iguchi singled. Thome singled. Iguchi scored on the ball getting away from the third baseman. Dye is out on a grounder. 1 out. Bottom of the fifth. Thome at second. AJ up. -
