  1. Probably Torres. Hopefully not Colon or Sweaty Freddy.
  2. All I can say is how pumped I am for the wall-to-wall Dallas Cowboys, TO and Tom Brady coverage over the next 6 months,
  3. Okay, I can accept that long term. I don't want to see him get comfortable in that and JUST pull everything but it makes sense as he's getting his timing back.
  4. QUOTE (Special K @ Aug 1, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) I was looking on Friar Nation, the Pads message board, and some of those clowns don't even know what they got from us. A lot of them think Richard has been relieving for us all year long and at best he'll be a long reliever or back of the end rotation guy. They said Poreda is not an impact guy, and Dexter and Russel won't see the big leagues. Poreda, Richard, and Dexter all have the potential to be something real solid and i'm excited to see how all of them do. Does anyone know when Richard is scheduled to start? He should fare pretty well in that big park. Richard will be great in PETCO, but do you really think Poreda projects as anything more then a setup man/reliever as he still only has 1 pitch and proven that his secondary stuff is nothing to write home about?
  5. Hahaha Kenny actually got one of his guys IN THE SAME YEAR. see: not Kotsay, Erstad I'm with ya sin city. I can't wait for the Chone Figgins/Carl Crawford connection in 2014.
  6. Plus kids fly free on some major airlines. He just sits on someone's lap most likely.
  7. As others mentioned he hasn't been going opposite field much and he still appears to be laboring on the basepaths but if he continues to hit dingers it won't really matter
  8. Which is something that is going to inevitably happen, unfortunately with the live cut-ins. Obviously, it's last minute stuff, there's no way to do a teleprompter read or anything like that, but wrong names are inexcusable.
  9. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 03:12 PM) LETS BRING HIM BACK! EVERY FORMER WHITE SOX MEMBER WHO HAS EXPERIENCED ANY TYPE OF SUCCESS MUST BE RUMORED TO RETURN HERE! FORMER WORLD SERIES MEMBER! COOP WILL FIX HIM! WHY NOT? LOW RISK, HIGH REWARD! HE HAS THAT SPICY LATIN PERSONALITY GUILLEN LOVES! Nothing against you bschmanranz, you were just reporting the news, but I have to throw out these lines before anyone else does. It's good to get them all out of the way now. VETERAN LEADERSHIP COULD HE BE WORSE THAN CONTRERAS RIGHT NOW? IT WON'T COST MUCH IT CAN'T HURT anymore?
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 12:49 AM) Anybody notice that the Red Sox are emphatically debunking the myth that you can't have a contending ML team while maintaining a productive farm system at the same time? Since 2005, their farm has produced Papelbon, Ramirez (who they turned into Beckett), Lester, Buchholz, Pedroia, Youkilis, Ellsbury, Delcarmen and Lowrie. Lowrie goes down a couple weeks ago and they insert Nick Green, who at his age doesn't qualify as a true prospect, but is putting up a line so far of .302/.375/.488/.863. Daisuke Matsuzaka, who's overrated as hell, but still a big part of their rotation, goes down and all they do is insert Justin Masterson, who in 6 games (the last two as a starter) is sporting a 2.70 ERA. They just called up Michael Bowden (who's ranked #83 on BA's top 100 prospects list) for one day, I guess. And he looked f***in' awesome in two innings against NY last night. It won't be long before he's back up to stay. I don't even know who the hell Hunter Jones is. But he looked good as well. They've got Lars Anderson, who's ranked the 17th best prospect by BA, waiting in the wings. Daniel Bard, who's ranked the 98th best prospect by BA, is putting up filthy numbers at AAA right now. That just gives them more quality depth pitching wise. Say what you will about the Red Sox and their fans (who I despise), but that organization has got it's s*** together. They've blown right by the Yankees as the premier franchise in baseball. Yes, while I don't like the Red Sox I'm glad they are debunking that myth. We always heard that about the White Sox farm, that it's tough to produce a great farm system when you're drafting low. I always thought that was the most ridiculous argument to make, especially in baseball, but people pointed to a majority of the Rays top guys as being high picks. So I'm glad there is an organization out there that's proving winning and developing are not counter to each other.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) Keep him on with promos. The stuff last night, pleading Jeff to not put him through a table was very good heel stuff. That's one thing I'll never understand with today's WWE. A guy gets hurt, they completely take them off TV. Why? Imagine if in 1997, in the midst of Stone Cold's rise when he was injured during Summerslam they took him off TV for 6 months? Some people didn't even know Stone Cold was legitimately hurt because he was always on TV. Hell, they played an angle up where McMahon told him he couldn't wrestle and the fans ate it up even more.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 02:09 AM) And let's just pretend that Kevin Garnett guy being out is no real factor. Never heard of him. I thought Mikki Moore/Kendrick Perkins/Brian Scalabrine and Glen Davis were their normal frontcourt rotation.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2009 -> 02:53 PM) Getting past the C's makes a solid argument that this team is closer to championship material than we thought. True, but as long as LeBron James is still in the Eastern Conference we aren't at that level. I'm not really stating an opinion either way on the Gordon thing because it's irrelevant. The way the NBA salary cap is structured there is little or no way a Gordon deal gets done. Jerry does not want to pay a hefty luxury tax, we don't know for a fact but we can probably guess. If Mark Cuban tries to toe around paying a luxury tax, I have a hard time believing Jerry is ready to take that leap.
  14. It's not going to happen, let it go guys. The salary structure of the NBA will basically not allow us to resign Ben Gordon, there is absolutely no way to do it without paying a luxury tax. I highly doubt we want to pay a luxury tax for a team that is still not quite "championship" material.
  15. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 10:41 AM) Henderson probably, Ellington that's probably the upper reaches of where he goes unless he works out well. Either way, Evans is just a brutal fit with Rose. Both players need the ball in their hands to produce and neither is a particularly strong outside shooter. That's not entirely true. Evans had a great year from beyond the arc, can create his own shot (unlike Gordon) and doesn't need to have the ball in his hands at all times, he took over the PG duties because Memphis desperately needed scoring, that was the only reason. He'd be a fine SG at the next level. Plays solid defense, well known for getting steals, + rebounder, ability to drive to the basket and above-average shooting ability. Unfortunately mocks are all over the place right now, so I guess we'll wait and see. The main problem I have with Ellington is he doesn't get to the line enough ala Gordon. Come playoff time there is no bigger weapon in the NBA then the ability to get to the free throw line. You don't win a championship chucking three pointers or mid-range jumpers. Ellington has never shown an ability to get to the line at a decent pace. Also his quickness is just average. NBA 2's need to have a ton of lateral quickness and I'm just not sure he has that.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 12:05 AM) I'd shoot Paxson if he drafted Evans. If we're going to draft a guard in the 1st round, give me Gerald Henderson or Wayne Ellington. Or if you want pure scoring and size isn't an issue, Steph Curry or Eric Maynor. I don't want Tyreke Evans anywhere near Derrick Rose. See, here's the problem. The Bulls aren't the only team that pick in this year's draft. Also they don't have a pick till 16, when Henderson and Ellington will both be gone. And no Steph Curry for me, he's a college 6'1, which will likely "magically" transform to 5'9 once he gets to Pre-Draft camps. He'll be a marginally better version of JJ Reddick at the next level. Pass.
  17. I'm not too worried about seeing him go. In fact, I welcome the Bulls to draft Tyreke Evans who if he develops properly will be Gordon with a bit more driving ability and some better athleticism, but maybe not the same shooting ability. Gordon will never be a key piece on a championship team his style is too hot/cold.
  18. Yeah, how funny was that? This style of match is exactly what we SHOULD'VE seen at Wrestlemania.
  19. Probably Indy more. Charlottes biggest business is banking. :-/
  20. That's my point, you had an expansion team that was largely horse s*** for the first 10 years of their existence. They don't have a very solid fan base. It'll grow with sustained success, but it's not going to be a 1-year type thing.
  21. Well they aren't crap, it's just that everyone can write on their stuff so it's irrelevant to argue any of their points. You can make an account there and say whatever the hell you want and it gets posted.
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) What did you get banned for? lol I got perma banned for a really s***ty reason. Someone on another board linked me to something at WSI. It was a banned guys sig, which apparently only shows up in WSI's Admin Board. So naturally Daver said I was attempting to "hack" the site because I spent 15 seconds on their Admin Board, so naturally I was attempting to take personal files from them (which aren't even on the admin board) but yeah. Normal ban-happy bulls***.
  23. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 02:35 PM) As the past two people have said, you really shouldn't get all worked up over anything posted on Bleacher Report. Any idiot can create an account and post whatever idiotic article full of flawed logic, horrendously one-sided trade ideas or flat-out inaccurate assertions that they feel like writing in their spare time. Yeah, don't get worked up over anything over there, it's all user-generated content. It's irrelevant to an actual discussion. With that being said there are some sweet articles there (including mine), so I wouldn't completely ignore it but don't get worked up when 15 year olds post stupid stuff. Don't hate Bleacher Report, just hate the idiot that wrote it. Sizemore is an elite CF, but 2nd best ever. No.
