QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 10:30 AM) I don't know if I could say that. This team was playing as good as any team in the league. It has its flaws but it was playing at a high-level of football. When healthy and with Jay playing like he has been, this is the best Bears team I've ever seen (or at least right there with the most recent super-bowl team before Tommie got hurt). Not so much, there is a team who has won 8 straight and has played better than CHI on both sides of the ball...... -

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 10:13 AM) I don't even know how to respond to that. The line isn't better at all, huh? Did you see the long throws cutler had when he had multiple seconds to throw long? Those didn't happen earlier. Our defense isn't much better at all compared to the beginning of the season? These are just stupid observations. They deserve to be called out as stupid. Stats will not back you up. The line and the defense is better overall, but not much IMO. It's not a stupid observation, look at how much he still gets out of the pocket and avoids sacks in many different ways. These are things he didn't do as much early on. And the defense, they've had some better games no doubt, but then go out and give up 330 yesterday..... I don't really have to defend these statements, the coming weeks will prove my point.......enjoy that O line with Hanie back there. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 09:59 AM) I believe we could beat the saints. Our oline is much better than what it was that game, which was close until frank f***ing omiyale let a defender breeze past and strip cutler that lead to a TD. We're a much better defensive team than in week 2 as well. You guys are babies. The line isn't much better at all. What's been better is Cutler has been abosuluetly amazing and avoiding sacks and getting the ball out just in time to a receiver. How many times in the last few weeks has he been tied up by the legs and made an amazing play. He wasn't doing all that before. The line still sucks, and starting next week it will once again be exposed. Also, the Defense isn't all that much better. What the hell happened yesterday? Green Bay or NO would have a field day on that secondary... -

Everyone keeps saying they wouldn't be the Packers anyways, I'll go a step further, they wouldn't have even beaten the Saints in NO in the first round...........which is what the scenario would be if things started today. 49ers vs. Packers NFC Championship - It's going to happen -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 03:33 PM) Hop step, man. Damn, this makes me want to go pick up NBA 2k12. I'm so lethal at these games. And I just read somewhere the reason I can't hop step is because they took it away. Or it's not as easy as hitting the Triangle button anymore........

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 03:33 PM) Hop step, man. Damn, this makes me want to go pick up NBA 2k12. I'm so lethal at these games. Somehow I knew you'd be the first to reply, can't believe you haven't picked it up yet. Can't say I've executed the hop step yet, plenty of step backs though. So far I think the key to being able to do that stuff is to play real basketball. If I just try one on one with Rose the whole time, it's very difficult. I find when passing frequently, having a nice mix of inside and outside buckets, it becomes easier to start getting around people and what not. I think the game plays very realistic

Been playing NBA 2K12 for about three weeks now, it's really amazing. Haven't played 2K since about 2009 or 2008, when I had ISO mastered. Now I have a very difficult time getting around oppenents and executing moves....when I do though it's pretty amazing... If anyone has any advice on executing the ISO moves and getting to the bucket more with Rose feel free to chime in...

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 02:42 PM) And their coach gets in silly fights with the Lions! There ya go! It's funny how when that happened everyone said that Harbaugh was the idiot, now everyone is starting to see Shwartz for what he is......... -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 02:03 PM) Great posts. The Niners aren't flashy...but they're very solid. They're very 2005 Bears-ish... I meniotned previously I watch all their games as well as Bear games, and they aren't just 2005 Bears-ish, they win exactly the same way the Bears do now. They rely on defense first, they have above average special teams with probably the best returner besides Hester in Ginn, and they have the one of the best takeaway/turnover ratios, and best average starting field position to oppenents starting.....that is all very similar to the Bears...... -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 09:25 AM) The niners to me look like a team that is improving, but is also a benefactor of having a decently easy schedule. Most people just assume they are 8-1 because of their division and don't realize they have played only 1 division game to date. Going 4-0 when traveling to the east coast is pretty darn good, no matter who the teams they play. And winning in Philly isn't often easy. Winning against NY was another big game. How about going to DET and winning? Both the Bears and the 49ers have each played 4 teams with winning records. -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 17, 2011 -> 09:23 AM) I think the 49ers have a good defense, but I don't think its the kind of defense that shuts a team down. The 49ers best games as a defense this year came against Browns, Seahawks, Bengals, Bucs and Redskins. Not really teams you would consider good on offense. I don't think it shuts a team down either, but you add elements such as cold and snow, along with the fact their defense is as solid as it is, and it can be pretty effective. The games you mention statistacally were the best, I was most impressed with what they did vs. the Giants offense, especially in the 4th quarter on Sunday. Check out the injury reports for other teams after having playing agains that defense too. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) If you didn't watch the game don't bother talking. Of course I watched the game, thanks. Rodgers didn't get his ass kicked, plain and simple. I would say Cutler got his ass kicked. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 04:11 PM) I hope not, because that sounds like an awful game. I think NO/NYG/CHI would have a fighting chance in Lambeau, but I'm not sure about the 49ers. Why does that sound like an aweful game? You take the best defense in the NFL against the best offense. You throw in the fact that the 49ers offensive scheme is to pound the ball with Gore, add the fact the weather up in Green Bay could slow down the Packer offense and all of a sudden you have a great game. I've watched every Bear, Packer, and 49er game this year and without and it's funny when highlight watchers immediately discount the 49ers. I guess it all comes down to what you personally consider makes a great football game. -

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) Maybe it's because the lions aren't nearly as good as the packers? Not too mention we actually gave Rodgers his worse game of the season and we kicked his ass in the playoffs just need cutler to show up. Not sure how being down 14 going into the 4th is kicking anyones ass, but okay....... We could go back and forth all day long, bottom line is it's going to be 49ers vs. Packers the the NFC Championship......so enjoy the silly fights with the Lions. -

I'm amazed that on this board, and many other pages where the Bears are the topic of discussion, there is this huge battle with the Lions that I find quite silly. Articles about is this the new rivalry, articles about how Johnson is so afraid of Peppers now. It's almost as if the Bears and their fans have to get so much joy beating up there little brother who found some success recently, because they know they can't beat up the real team which is the Packers....... It's almost like by starting 5-0 they stole the Bears candy of being the 2nd best in the division, and it really pissed the Bears off........shouldn't they be more pissed and start trying to be more competitive with Green Bay? Maybe stop with all this we respect them they respect us and get angry and pissed with the Pack? I'm a 49ers fan, and they have had a great year so far which has been a blast watching after so many years of pure crap. But as good as they've been, reality is there slim to none chance they can compete with Green Bay right now. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) Probably right, I didn't mean to take anything away from the Packers. I just feel that if we had a 100% healthy Jay Cutler instead of burning 2 series with Todd Collins and running out there with a guy who had 0 practice reps with the first team we might have, oh I don't know, stood a better chance. Somehow, with how poorly the Bears played on offense, they had a chance to tie the game on that final drive. If you don't think having a legit top-10 QB in there instead of the clown collection of Todd Collins and Caleb Hanie makes a difference, then I think that's crazy. Sure, Cutler could have gotten them down and thrown a RZ INT, I just wish I could have seen it! Well said, it just sounded like you said before Cutler healthy was automatic win. I agree, they would have stood a better chance, but to say for sure is pretty bold. In a game like this you def wish you could have had your best out there the whole time, but in a season where the Bears were often the benificiary of teams with injuries, they suffered the worst one in the end. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 10:04 AM) The fact that the Bears completely dominated the 2nd half with the worst 2nd stringer in the history of the NFL and their 3rd stringer playing and had multiple chances to tie it. If you are so blind you can't see this then don't bother replying. So the Packers completeley dominated the first half, the Bears completely dominated the second half automatically equals a Bears win? Where is that rule written? If you think for one second the Packers didn't let up a bit on D you are blind, case in point, look what their D did when it had to each time in the 2nd half. Pick 6 then pick, game over. Cutler scored one touchdown on the Packers in 2.5 games, you have nothing to say he would have done it 2 times yesterday in the 2nd half..... -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 09:32 AM) if Cutler is healthy we win that game. And you base this on what? His stellar first half performance prior to getting hurt? If Cutler was healthy, I'm pretty sure the Packers D wouldn't haven't taken it easy like they did, and continued to dominate. -
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) Too high scoring. No, it's not too high. Last four opponents in Soldier Field average 30 pts, so it is possible! And don't give me the crap about week 17, it doesn't matter.
-
Packer 31 Bears 17 Hester with a return Cutler 1 pick Rodgers 1 pick
-
Can we stop with the week 17 vanilla crap? Whatever happened in week 17, or week 3 means nothing to this game. The Patriots beat the Jets 45-3, then lost to them last week. The Bears lost to the Seahawks then beat them last week, the Packers lost Atlanta then beat them last week, and on and on and on......... I'm just so sick of heaing the we didn't try BS. It simply doesn't matter.

The best is Matt just saying "fine, go ahead and lawyer up" Referring to how Dan will always try to find technicalities to back his arguments.......
