QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 08:36 PM) Twice? More like 500 times in his career. One of the worst high fastball hitters I have seen.
-
Trayce not picking it up well off him, still a 7 pitch AB, got him with a little slide piece on the inside.
-
Twice Avi hasn't made the adjustment to the high fastball. Also Abreu now at 28/90 20 games left to get 2/10
-
just for consistency; thats trayce's homer, on a right hander no less. can we put that myth to bed yet? Also how will his BABIP ever stabilize if he keeps hitting all these HRs..

TFT!!!!!!!!1!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 08:00 PM) In bWAR, we gave up 4.5 and got back 0.2 should've mentioned that was fWAR

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 07:49 PM) I'd rather have Bassit than Shark. Yeah, id rather have them all back than Shark, they're looking to finish collectively at 4WAR for a tick over 1.5m and Ravelo made it back from injury at AAA, where as shark should finish at 2.8WAR with a potential comp pick and the sox spent nearly 10M on him.
-
remember when we gave away Semien, Ravelo, Bassit and Phegley...
-
Nice AB's by the youngsters, walk for Micah and a good AB by Thompson.
-
Olt with the walk.
-
Solid AB and line drive, sadly right to the left fielder.

QUOTE (frogsplash31 @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 12:20 AM) This may be one of the worst position player free agency I have ever seen. Heyward, Cespedes, and Upton are going to be overpaid. So what I would do is extend the QO to Shark and pray he rejects it. Pickup the option on Alexi. Sign Jordan Zimmerman to a 6 year 120 million. It would suck having the same team as this year, but there are so many holes. Might as well see if Trayce, Micah, Tyler, or Avi can be an above average players. You have a rotation of Sale, Q, Zimmerman, Rodon, Johnson for the next five years. You Have Fullmer as insurance or trade bait. The pitching shoild at least make them competitive next year. You then have a ton of money coming off the books and pitching depth to trade from. My goal would be 2017. While I agree this is going to be a bad FA class; most free agent classes going forward are going to continue this trend, most players are being locked up very young by their organizations to minimize risk while setting themselves up for a big pay day around the age of 30-32. To me the smart money is on paying a proven 26 year old and locking him up long term. Heyward is going to get something like 10/230 with an opt out after 4 and front loaded because of his age, lack of FA options & talent and honestly the sox are in a position monetarily where they could do a deal like that and have nothing to lose, Danks and LaRoche(dead money) plus Bonifacios and Alexei's guaranteed million means in '17 there is nearly $31 off the books, '17 will also be the first year Abreu can opt into ARB. Also in '18 Melky's contract is off the books too (another 15M).

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Sep 13, 2015 -> 11:13 AM) One thing people sleep on because of low batting averages was that Trayce was an above average hitter for EVERY league he played in bar rookie ball in his debut season and 20 PA in his first go at AAA. (wRC+, far right, 100 is average) I also think that its not unheard of a "tools" player making good on said tools even with poor to mediocre results in the minors. Two great recent examples of this would be Zach Cozart and Brandon Crawford, now to be fair to Trayce he has more polish than both of them. His BABIP isn't going to remain sky high but if he can maintain a .300(league averageish) to .330 on the high side because of his speed an athleticism in addition to maintaining and growing his power and previous .ISO levels and his BB/K profile its entirely possible he makes good on his tools and could become a well above average regular something in the 3+WAR area, his floor is a very good 4th outfielder and thats nothing to be ashamed about either, but with the sox stuck in their current position they should be providing him 200-400 consistent regular PAs to figure out what they have on their hands. If Trayce is making good on his tools they've got a CF/RF and could pursue someone in FA like Heyward or trade like Puig and have a nice young core in the OF from left to right Eaton, Thompson, Heyward/Puig.

Nice day at the plate for thompson today 2/4 with a BB and K. for the year 8.6%BB and 17.2K%. If robin plays him he should get another 53-66 PA over the course of the next 22 games.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 12, 2015 -> 08:12 PM) Olt has actually been pretty solid so far. Hes battled vision and injury problems for a few years and just recently turned 27 maybe there is something there, nothing wrong with an extended look.

TFT gonna TFT

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 12, 2015 -> 07:32 PM) I'm still in utter disbelief why Trayce Thompson isn't starting everyday at this point. well he is only hitting .250 off milone...
-
vast majority of white sox prospects would've swung over that, nice AB trayce coming back from 1-2
-
kansas city specials for days...
-
nice play Micah

Eaton gonna Eaton.
