QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 10:16 PM) I mean look at that s***. Would you rather fix a rotation or a bullpen? The bullpen, rotations are far to costly to fix. I also think our bullpen while a mess right now has some bright spots and solid development going on with Petricka & Webb. We also have a young major league lotto ticket in Cleto and last but not least Jones is will only be 29 going into next season and we've got Goldberg and Hansen moving up as well. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 10:16 PM) I personally think Dunn will net us our next set up guy at the deadline. I'm with you I think when the sox begin to sell off this year we get some solid prospects and useful major league pieces.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 10:04 PM) There are so many positives with this young team. But they will struggle and we are already missing a big piece. It's ok to get caught up and frustrated. However don't forget this isn't our year. Exactly, it would be great if we back into the wild card but this team isn't built for it, just enjoy the young guys develop. On the plus side our rotation over the past 4 games 25.2 12H 4ER 11BB 28SO 1.43ERA, 0.912WHIP, 3.93 BB/9 & 10 K/9

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 09:43 PM) That's a play that needs to be made by Semien. He would have had him pretty easily. agreed

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 09:04 PM) I'm not even saying you're wrong but this kind of post has to be a running soxtalk.com joke from now on. It's every ab of his from someone. Its as if this board has forgotten that young players take time to develop and we should be blessed to actually have a top of the order with discipline; thats the f***ing joke.
-
f*** you blue that was a K to Semien.
-
Enter the Semien haters, listen hes got a great understanding of the zone and he watched that pitch outside of it. He is going to be a good player for the sox.
-
Again I can't stress how great it is having Paul Konerko shows the young core how to shrug his shoulders and pop up on a first pitch, Eaton and Semien I'm sure were taking notes.
-
even with the strike out, chris has been screwed out of three strikes and two questionable pitches while on the other page lester has been give two out of the zone
-
Konerko showing a lot of heart, hustle and veteran leadership on that dropped 3rd strike.

Eaton!!

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 05:21 PM) The Perfect Draft.....can it be done? we can only hope 49 days from now.
-
My hope is that we land Rodon at 3, Reetz at 44, Conor's brother Casey at 78 and a lot of pitching from 109 onward.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 16, 2014 -> 07:20 AM) No but he should net a decent prospect or two at the deadline. That is a better outcome then we could've hoped for at the start of the season. This lets just hope he continues to look like the Dunn of old and we don't have to send 7.5M with him at the deadline to receive a prospect. Sox need to target someone like Victor Martinez in the offseason for DH because unlike the rest of the crop he could occasionally be used as a 3rd catcher and 1B which would give us some more positional flexibility. Also have others have stated on the board past their "prime" vets should continue to be the "new market inefficiency".

Great outing by Johnson maybe the gun was slow his last two starts, his FB consistently hit 92 and looked crisp and his command from the first batter looked really good. Glad to see Dunn not only having a pulse but hitting nearly .300 on this young season and going 1-1 with 3BB maybe we can get something useful for him after all. Lastly congrats to Ramirez for keeping his streak alive.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 10:51 PM) That finger looked grisly yeah Also congrats on a check swing call going Semien's way.

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 08:06 PM) Dykstra excellent 6 IP, 7 H 3 R, 1 BB, 9 SO, 7 GB/1 FB Season: 17.2 IP, 4 BB, 19 SO, 28 GB/2 FB What do we make of him, I know we drafted him in the 6th round last year and he is 23. Everything I've read in the past said his future is in the pen as a middle reliever and that he features a split finger.
