  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) You must be going blind. Obviously, Vlad has more HR and RBI than Rios. He clearly deserves it more. Did you guys realize that Vlad has nobody to protect him? Do the Angels even have another all star? Put Vlad in Toronto's lineup and he'd have monster numbers.
  2. QUOTE(Walker2Baines @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:19 AM) Verducci spends a few weeks in spring training with the Blue Jays and then makes the cover of SI with them, so he has to repay them by saying three Blue Jays should be All Stars. Good job Tom. Are you kidding? Wells and Rios as starters? After a terrible start Ichiro is second in the AL in batting and continues to play his great defense. Wells after his great start in April has slipped. I would also start Vlad since he's got nobody to protect him.

  4. When will the search feature be fixed? This is a recording.
  5. What about PK helping out Juan on that throw. He didn't fully stretch out, f*** the guy is 6'3. Was the throw by Uribe bad? No question. But PK could have helped out.
  6. This is a pretty stupid topic. If you didn't respect Pods after what he did for us in 2005, then you're a f***ing idiot. Pods shouldn't need to beat the s*** out of that pussy, to gain your respect. He should already have your respect.
  7. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ May 20, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) Did Baker really say that? I know he's stupid, but come on And he could have been looking elsewhere when the punch was thrown. I mean a game was still going on. All Sox fans hate the f***ing cubs but this obession needs to f***ing stop. Who gives a f***ing s*** about them?
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) Unless you are joking here, let me assure you that it did happen. Yes I'm joking. It's funny though, I remember that other fan, Eric Dybas, who tried to attack an umpire, more. That fan was a real f***ing moron. That umpire was built like a damn linebacker.
  9. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) William Ligue is the guy, along with his son, who came from the stands and attacked Royals 1B coach Tom Gamboa at US Cellular Field a few years ago. What are you talking about? Nobody has ever attacked a coach at a Sox game. This must be some made up bulls*** from the f***ing Cubune paper.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ May 18, 2006 -> 07:40 AM) Ligue is an idiot asshole, who I would bet high wouldn't know the meaning of "1908" anyway... it was the childish behavior I was referring to. Who's this Ligue guy?
  11. I know not much is being expected anyways but Torcato has had many shoulder operations and he's damaged goods. It's worth the risk since it costs almost nothing but don't expect much either.

  13. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 17, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) That wouldn't be a "team error" I like that idea. So this team rebound thing is if the ball hits the rim and goes out with no one touching it or what? I didn't say that example was a team error. Yes if the ball hits the rim (and maybe even an airball) and goes out without anybody touching it, the defensive team gets a Team rebound.
  14. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) there not good i can tell you that. Ask Tony Graffianino and Bill Buckner. Wells got Pods out after the error. Wells could have gotten out of the inning if he didn't hang a curve to Iguchi. So a lot depends on your pitcher. How mentally tough he is. Even for the f***ing Angels. If Escobar got Crede out the AJ play doesn't mean s***. I believe it was an 0-2 count when Crede hit his double.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) You mean like when a pitcher fails to cover 1st base? :headshake :banghead Team Error
  16. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:32 PM) What about misplays that lead to extended innings and runs scoring that shouldn't, that don't show up as an error? The NBA has a stat called Team Rebounds. If a ball hits the ribs and goes out of bounds, without anybody else touching it, the defensive team gets a team rebound. Baseball should have a Team Error. There are too many plays that should be made but aren't ruled an error on a player. But they should be a Team error.
  17. Search feature still isn't working. I want to find the posts after the Sox won the WS last year.
  18. What is wrong with the search feature? Why is it turned off?
  19. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ May 8, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) Did I ever say ND would go to the BigTen? I did make a comment about ND being scared to play OSU though....which is true. Do you really think the Big East should have an auto bid? The ND comment wasn't directed to you. Though I don't believe the Big East should get a BCS bid, that doesn't matter because the Big East is a powerbroker in the BCS.
  20. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ May 6, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) HAHA....WILL NEVER HAPPEN!! I would not be suprised if the Big East doesnt lose the automatic BCS bid, i sure as hell think they should. I would like to see a discussion on the automatic conference births for the BCS games. The Big East is a powerbroker in the BCS. Their commish had a lot to do with the BCS being formed. They won't lose jack. And if ND ever does go anywhere, it won't be to the Big 11. It will be the Big East. They already play all other sports in the Big East.
  21. What if Penn St. decides to leave the Big 11 for the Big East? Not saying it's going to happen but you never know. Think of the advantages for Penn St. Fairly easy conference schedule, an almost automatic bid for a BCS game. Will be able to rekindle old natural rivalries. (Pitt, Syracuse, WV etc)
  22. This from Baseball Reference's Similar Pitchers through Age 26 John Candelaria (957) Mike Hampton (949) Mark Mulder (945) Jim Merritt (944) Tom Glavine (942) Bill Monbouquette (940) Ross Grimsley (939) Dave McNally (937) Mark Gubicza (936) Tony Cloninger (935) Of those listed only Glavine will make the HOF. Others fizzled out for whatever reason. So please stop this BS about MB. He's nothing about a crybaby. Hey MB great game vs Seattle. Hey are they cheating???
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) Who did the teams before us pick? 1 Brewers BJ Surhoff 2 Giants Will Clark 3 Rangers Bobby Witt 4 Reds Larkin 5 Brown Interesting note about Brown. He went to the same HS as Aaron Rowand, Glendora HS. Matter of fact Brown graduated 10 years before Rowand.
  24. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) I think the main argument is that Mark has a good chance to become a 300 winner and HOFer with his current stats as long as he can sustain that rate for the rest of his career. Which is not an easy task by no means, but he has shown nothing to lead us to believe that he won't do it.. Umm HELLO my examples show that there are some pitchers who weren't able to main their early success. What part of that don't you understand?
  25. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) His motion/mechanics got considerably worse after those two seasons. Gooden's first two years in the league he has sensational mechanics... then it was a continues down hill roller coaster for him... he began tipping his pitches and his delivery started becoming awkward compared to before... was clearly not as fluid. His delievery and motion (his first two years in the league) have been thought of as one of the smoothest ever in baseball. It's believe that the mets coaches at the time really f***ed up with him (that and cocaine/liqour). Buehrle is yet to have any sort of hiccups with his delivery. Personally i do not see any reason for buehrle to start changing anything in what will be his sixth full season in the majors this year. He has looked nearly identical out there since day one. This article basically explains how they f***ed him up... http://www.thesportscritics.com/listingsEn...pt=Jeff+Kallman Yeah Gooden's lack of work ethic and his drug problems didn't have anything to do with it? Gooden came into the league as a 19 year old. He could basically not work out and still be in shape. Then his body matured and he had to work out but didn't. He also started his drug issues after 85. They came to light after the Mets won the WS.
