Maybe it's a blessing. I've never seen him play, but based on the reports of others and his numbers, he's the kind of guy I think the Sox need more of -- solid line-drive hitter, good defender. Maybe now he'll stay put.

If Viciedo can't hit righties then he has no future as an everyday player in the majors, it's as simple as that. And if we called him up to hit in a strict platoon with Vizquel then we're doing him an incredible disservice. Not to mention that Viciedo struggles against off-speed stuff, if I'm correct. That would be John Lannan's specialty, and he's the starter on Sunday.
