GT: CWS @ TEX, Tues 4/27, 7:05pm CT

LOL. I looked up to see the ball headed into right center, and saw someone gracefully moving over to catch it. I thought, Jesus, Quentin looks pretty good out there. But, of course, A. Jones. Quentin may not have even seen it. -

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:58 PM) Flip his card. Its cold. Hes not loosey goosey. He knows how to hit already, its coming. This reminded me of something. Why was it that when Thome or Dye struggled, Walker would say "flip his card" -- but when Wise and Kotsay sucked as one would expect from their "cards", Ozzie thought they'd be really good instead? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:56 PM) If you want to play a fun drinking game, take shots every time Beckham fouls one down the right field line. You'll be drunk in no time. He actually looks worse than he did at any time last year. Even when he was struggling after he came up, I remember thinking that he was actually swinging pretty well. Not so much now. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) How many times do we see this happen. For the love of God, you have to get the guy in from third. You have to have a plan. The baseball IQ of this team is questionable. You, sir, are in a generous mood. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) Beat you by 10 minutes on that one. But we were expecting it to be even warmer. Does that count? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) Yeah, those 10 minutes on the radio are killing him! He'll be fine, he's just messed up at the plate. He was streaky last year as well. Try 30 minutes a shot, at least twice a week - on top of his various commercials, another position change and the league adjusting to him. I'm sure he'll be fine, but you bet that when he is, we'll hear that Gordon just "needed to settle in" -- I think it would happen faster without the distractions. And, if you notice, we need it to happen . . . faster. -

I'm really starting to believe that Carlos Quentin isn't good. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 03:08 PM) And with young guys like Beckham and Quentin, that's when Walker needs to calm them down. Beckham needs to get his butt off the radio and stop doing promotions, and start playing baseball. I feel like he's a great guy who's taking advantage of all the goodies -- and spread awfully thin in the process. -

I was shocked that Carlos Quentin: (a) swung at the first pitch with runners on base; (B) hit it weakly; and © flipped his bat angrily after he did it. -

Starting to look like the kind of team that gets a manager fired . . . -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 03:19 PM) Rios just played that ball into a triple. Peavy's fastball looks pathetic again. Pulling in the infield in the first inning. That says it all, doesn't it? -

LOL with Kotsay and hitting it every time to the second basemen, on about 20 bounces. -

Strange to see a well-known Gold Glove 3rd baseman boot one like that. Oh, wait. That was just Kenny Williams who thought that. -

Alright, total pet peeve here. So Ramirez is running to 3rd base, the ball's in right field, and he turns his head almost all the way around to look behind him. He's done this since he got here. USE YOUR COACHES. It's like when he does a spin coming across the bag, trying to turn 2. DO IT THE RIGHT WAY. What in God's name do our coaches do? -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:18 PM) He must be injured, not be able to pitch in the AL, or is on steroids. Call off the season and his contract, pack it in boys. Well, you do have to admit, it's a little disconcerting to see the fastball where it is. It looked better last September, but maybe all the time off last year was the difference, and here he's in dead arm from spring training. Kinda strange, though.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:16 PM) are you forking kidding me????? 89 and then 90 right over the middle? Yeah, I think Hawk is missing (or obscuring) the point here. It's not that Peavy is hard, hard, hard. It's that the difference between his fastball and slider is about 1 mph. His fastball blows. That's physical, I'm afraid.
