  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) Thornton coming in for Damon. Walk City.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) I don't mind it. I'd rather have Iguchi leading off next inning. Agreed.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) If Damon and Pods played catch with each other in the outfield, they would need a cut-off man. !!!!
  4. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) The Reds manager actually was ejected from a game even faster than that by a 1B umpire earlier this year. He ran out, said 1 word, and was tossed. It took maybe 1.8 seconds, it was amazing. 1.8 seconds? Hmm. Was the umpire Scottie Pippen?
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) Anderson is back to pushing his bat through the zone again. He was doing that earlier in the year, and he was allergic to hitting the ball hard then. We have a MASSIVE hole in CF right now. I guess you've forgotten about Pablo.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) They're tired from being out on the field for so long. I honestly think that's true. Our guys are overeager up there because they've been standing around forever.
  7. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) Different malware. He is infected with the Hunter Wendlestedt Trojan, a variant of the Froemming Trojan. Corollary to the Angel Fernandez Syndrome.
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:00 PM) Oh God I remember that game. That's probably the worst call I've ever seen in a baseball game, that homer would have gave us the lead and we ended up losing by 1. Man was I pissed. Eric Cooper may have the Marte Virus.
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) Hello this is Whitesox tech support how can we help you. Hi my name is Ozzie Guillen. I got the upgrade of Cotts to Cotts 2.1 2006 and this version is buggy. He cant seem to get lefties out. Well Mr. Guillen it looks like Cotts 2.1 had a virus in the code, the marte virus as its known. You need to remove that software from your system, and do a clean install of bmac 2.0. Bmac 2.0 can also help if any of your starters are infected with the marte virus. Great stuff.
  10. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) Remember when Cotts gave up a single and put men on 1st and 3rd with 1 out? Too bad McCarthy didn't come in. Ozzie finally makes a smart move by pulling a starter, then he puts the worst possible reliever in, at the time, to pitch in a big game. Great, so glad we got McCarthy for long relief. The use of McCarthy really is mind-boggling. He's not good enough to start, and then he's saved for silliness out of the bullpen.
  11. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) gosh darn...we need a new lefty out of the pen. Does he have to have huge feet? Because I know just the guy.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) Him and Boone Logan watch the games with Jose Contreras cousin in Cuba IIRC. They ride via horseback to a shack with a tv and satellite dish to watch it under the cover of night. Oo-la-la.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) Or re-signing PK and the eventually long-term deal to Crede. I know, I know. By the way, I think we've found the key to getting Ozzie to take Javier out before the 6th: just have him throw 120 pitches during the first five.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:38 PM) That much more money pumped into the team. That's right. It's nights like tonight that make Javier possible.
  15. Javier Vazquez takes the air out of every game.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) I went to a game against Texas on a Saturday night earlier this year that was exactly like these 2 starts, only he gave up 5 runs I believe. We ended up having an 8 run inning though in the 3rd or 4th or something and won it 8-6 for him. That was back when Coop was saying not to worry about how he was winning -- the results were all that mattered.
  17. Is it possible that Vazquez pitches with such weird "rhythm" that our offense is out of sync, too?
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) Not sure what they will do with Teahen when Gordon is ready. I've heard Gordon to right field.
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:31 PM) He needs to go 5 so he can be eligible for the win. Ozzie wants his starters to be winners. When Javier's out there, aren't we all winners?
  20. Strike out. That pitch wasn't where it was supposed to be either. Lots of movement, though.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) You mean the Willie Harris Memorial Grass? He sure had that weak grounder to 2nd base down pat. Don't you mean the Willie Harris DFA Memorial Grass?
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) Something in our minor league development needs to change. Every prospect we bring up has the same exact swing flaw. The low and away pitch. Rowand had it, Anderson has it, Borchard had it, Crede had it forever. They all had long looping swings that could be exposed with the low pitch away. And look at Fields, his K rate tells me that pretty much he will be the same way when he comes up. Can we get someone to teach a line drive swing in the minors, and then adjust to the power stroke once they figure out how to make consistant contact. The only one that I think will not be overmatched when he comes up is Sweeney. This observation is too useful for this thread. I resent your effort.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) I think Jim killed all the grass on the right side of the infield these last couple at bats. Poop. Indeed. I think the new Thome Shift should involve 8 fielders between first and second base.
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) I think we should bring back Lyle Mouton to help our OF problems personally. Great range. And French-sounding.
