  1. QUOTE(beautox @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) i luvvv when people come out of the wood work "I mean, D.J., the man had an opinion, and he expressed it. Still, kind of a hinie-bird."
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) Konerko didnt see a fastball last game and looked stupid swinging at changeups in the dirt. Konerko's at-bats against Santana are pretty entertaining. You can actually see the gears grinding in Paulie's head as he tries to figure out what to do. The result is customarily a strikeout on a changeup, followed by small head shake and bat grip, then trudge to dugout. Now comes the happy, detective-style music on the post game show. Yes, another evening of Chris "The Shadow" Ronge has come to a close. You may return to regularly scheduled human reasoning.
  3. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) The Twins were definitley alive over there. Hunter really pissed me off acting like he just hit a walk off shot to win the WS. It's really sad that when it matters, the Twins kick our ass year after year. And their manager, like Leyland on Wednesday, treats the game like it's life or death. He saw Radke didn't have it, and he took him out early.
  4. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) I WAS a huge fan/advocate of Pods' place on this team. To the point of defending him many times this year when I should not have. I am done now. I hate him and wish for him to go away, fast. I will even volunteer to help pack him and Lisa's apartment if it will expedite his departure. His poor approach at the plate (despite his lookie what I found single tonight), his lack of stealing/baserunning ability, and his PISS poor defense make me want to throw up on myself. The sooner he goes away, along with fat Freddy, the better off things will be. He has no upside what-so-ever and has zero place on any big league roster. Yes, but tell me about some of his BAD qualities.
  5. Shuster disagrees with Ronge on waving Gload. Ronge weeps. Little tears, but tears nonetheless.
  6. This was great. The Ronge said he wondered about Riske's pitch selection to Hunter but didn't question anything else he did!
  7. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:29 PM) Hah! The Sox have to "find a way" to make Cotts effective and give him "condfidence"...... I miss Brian Dolgin..... Sounds like a real party in the Bullpen Bar. The Ronge, sitting by himself, with hot dog wrappers blowing around . . .
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) ADR? What does that mean. If we can come out of this series 1/2 game out of the WC lead, I like our chances the rest of the way with Radke injured and Liriano not returning as a starter. At this point, I think Radke, Liriano, Morneau, Mauer and Santana could all be injured -- and Gardenhire blindfolded and lobotomized (in either order) -- and we'd still be wondering how we lost to the Twins.
  9. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:21 PM) Does anyone think 20 wins in the last 34 is possible for this team? That's what it's going to take to get into the playoffs, at least. You mean to get to Ozzie's magical 95? Yeah, Ozzie, maybe we need a few more than that this year.
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:14 PM) Their screener just hung up on me. I asked if I was going to be allowed to ask a real critical question or would Bagdad Bob get all mad at me if I put frown in his happy loss post game palooza. Best post of August.
  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:53 PM) I'd much rather have Soriano in LF than have McCarthy detailing Ozzie's SUV during the game.
  12. QUOTE(Wealz @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:53 PM) Cotts should be replaced on the roster if he can't be used in the 6th to get a lefty out. That's a GM problem. Would you have preffered MacDougal & Jenks pitch the last 3.1 innings? That's a great way to burn out your pen before September. I actually found myself thinking about Boone. Ah, Boone.
  13. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:37 PM) Twins are a better team. It's a shame. I have to concur.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) They have him set up for the low and in slider. I don't know how he's fouled off the last two pitches. Tried it, too.
  15. QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) just gonna have to disagree with everybody tonight then. I'm shruggin it off. Players played well tonight. If your coaches lose the game for you.. o well, lose tomorrow and win sunday then regroup for a run. Its not the end of the world tonight b/c ozzie lost us the game. I'm with you. In fact, beating Santana would mean more to the Sox than losing tonight. That's a big if, of course.
  16. Minnesota is one hell of an organization -- player development, managing and SCOUTING. That's about the 3rd or 4th time tonight when a fielder has been exactly where the ball was hit. Otherwise, that's probably a double. We're due for a break by the way, on a dribbler.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) We have a 12 million dollar pitcher that can only pitch 5 innings. That's simply amazing. And utterly, utterly predictable. All our GM had to to do was look at his record during the past FOUR years.
  18. You know how we seem to do a good job against Detroit? Yeah, that's the Twins against us. Good times.
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) You can't rain two games out in a year on a Roger Bossard field. Unless Bossard saw the lineup card and wants to avoid seeing Mack in centerfield.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 05:44 PM) Whats even worse is Javy is on the mound and he wets himself like a kid whenever a blooper falls So true. So true.
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) Get the next one, anyone warming up? Riske.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 03:09 PM) Garland's ERA just broke 4.50 Please forward me a similar e-mail when Vazquez gets under 5.10.
  23. Hawk noting that Anderson, as a centerfielder, has a quiet head.
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) Maybe he has a farm. E I, E I, O.
  25. Hawk and D.J. inexplicably -- and repeatedly -- referring to Mike MacDougal as "McDonald".
