  1. Javier Vazquez takes the air out of every game.
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) I went to a game against Texas on a Saturday night earlier this year that was exactly like these 2 starts, only he gave up 5 runs I believe. We ended up having an 8 run inning though in the 3rd or 4th or something and won it 8-6 for him. That was back when Coop was saying not to worry about how he was winning -- the results were all that mattered.
  3. Is it possible that Vazquez pitches with such weird "rhythm" that our offense is out of sync, too?
  4. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) Not sure what they will do with Teahen when Gordon is ready. I've heard Gordon to right field.
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:31 PM) He needs to go 5 so he can be eligible for the win. Ozzie wants his starters to be winners. When Javier's out there, aren't we all winners?
  6. Strike out. That pitch wasn't where it was supposed to be either. Lots of movement, though.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) You mean the Willie Harris Memorial Grass? He sure had that weak grounder to 2nd base down pat. Don't you mean the Willie Harris DFA Memorial Grass?
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) Something in our minor league development needs to change. Every prospect we bring up has the same exact swing flaw. The low and away pitch. Rowand had it, Anderson has it, Borchard had it, Crede had it forever. They all had long looping swings that could be exposed with the low pitch away. And look at Fields, his K rate tells me that pretty much he will be the same way when he comes up. Can we get someone to teach a line drive swing in the minors, and then adjust to the power stroke once they figure out how to make consistant contact. The only one that I think will not be overmatched when he comes up is Sweeney. This observation is too useful for this thread. I resent your effort.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) I think Jim killed all the grass on the right side of the infield these last couple at bats. Poop. Indeed. I think the new Thome Shift should involve 8 fielders between first and second base.
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) I think we should bring back Lyle Mouton to help our OF problems personally. Great range. And French-sounding.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) I do, and that commercial sucks. But that reference was pretty funny. Thanks, man. I'm just killing time until the next installment of the Amazing Vazquez Laser Show.
  12. You guys noticing that Hawk and D.J. don't say anything when a replay of a pitch is shown? Maybe they heard the criticism of their constant whining.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) So, if Anderson turns in to Mr. April/May again, what are we going to do? Boone Logan.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) Cotts got possessed by the Marte demon.
  15. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) Chances of Javy starting the 5th? Remote. Get it?
  16. Giambi goes down. Thanks, Javier. Now hit the showers, you big puss.
  17. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) Unbelievable. Javy is just toast. I hope we don't ever pitch him again. OUT. OUT NOW.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) Why for the love of god when you have a Brandon McCarthy in the bullpen do you have Cotts up first. Is it to plunk Giambi with the bases loaded again. Cotts hasnt been good in a while. I dont get this. Eject the 2005 WS dvd Ozzie, he isnt the same guy. Logan time.
  19. THAT one looked like strike.
  20. Boy, when they get Matsui and Sheffield back . . . that lineup is going to be a major bummer.
  21. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) This is getting to the point where it's almost as ridiculous as that start he had at home against Cleveland earlier this year. We won that game, but I think Javy threw 110 pitches in like 5 innings and Cleveland left 15 men on base or something. Yeah, I was there for that. Good, extened opportunity to drink. A lot. Kudos to Javy.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) Javy keeps shaking off AJ. AJ must not be putting down the sign for Meatball.
  23. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:04 PM) i think we'll be seing McCarthy tonight Right now. I'm serious.
  24. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) We have passed the 75 pitch barrier. Is that the music from Jaws?
  25. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) I have a hard time going against Coop after he came out to the mound in Minnesota and Buehrle threw that triple play on the next pitch. It takes a revolutionary thinker to go out there, tell your pitcher to throw a triple play ball, and see it get done on the 1st pitch. Way to whiff Jeter, Javy. Nice pitch. Last year, though, it would've been a quadruple play. Our guys are tired.
