  1. Get it up, Matt.
  2. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:34 PM) i think they will use him, they always use him. Oh, they'll use him. Just looking for a reason why he might not be at his best. Of course, if we can maintain the lead, that would be better. Lots better.
  3. I'm going to throw something out there right now. If, for whatever reason, Rivera gets in this game tonight, last night's rally will become important. Because of that rally, he had to pitch last night. And that'll mean that he's pitching 3 straight nights -- not optimal.
  4. He will not get that same pitch past Dye.
  5. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) You know what's funny, the Twins were shut out by Ted Lilly, Boston was swept in KC and we are going toe to toe with the hottest team in baseball right now. For some reason the results of this game are meaningless to me. Javier showed some balls as did McCarthy. We are best team in the wild card race. I guess what I've noticed is that teams seem very hot when they're playing us. Boston looked like the best team in baseball before the All-Star break. Detroit looked awfully good in that series up there. The Twins -- well, we saw how that went. Either we're very unlucky to draw these teams when they're on fire, or they simply give us their best because we're the champs. In fact, I think it may be a little of both, actually.
  6. Thome ready to lay one down.
  7. Must take against Mike Myers. Take, take, take.
  8. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) How come you use the team name for the Yankees and Sox, but city (or state ) name for Detroit, Boston and Minnesota? Funny you should mention that. As I was typing, I got to "New York" -- Yankees just sounded more accepted -- and ominous. As does White Sox. White Sox is very ominous. Ominous, indeed. Be afraid, American League. Be afraid of our mighty mightiness.
  9. I'm angry at Roger Bossard.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:17 PM) The entire team has been a pain in the ass. Detroit. Boston. Minnesota. The Yankees. White Sox. American League. Pretty good.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) Thornton coming in for Damon. Walk City.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) I don't mind it. I'd rather have Iguchi leading off next inning. Agreed.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) If Damon and Pods played catch with each other in the outfield, they would need a cut-off man. !!!!
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) The Reds manager actually was ejected from a game even faster than that by a 1B umpire earlier this year. He ran out, said 1 word, and was tossed. It took maybe 1.8 seconds, it was amazing. 1.8 seconds? Hmm. Was the umpire Scottie Pippen?
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) Anderson is back to pushing his bat through the zone again. He was doing that earlier in the year, and he was allergic to hitting the ball hard then. We have a MASSIVE hole in CF right now. I guess you've forgotten about Pablo.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) They're tired from being out on the field for so long. I honestly think that's true. Our guys are overeager up there because they've been standing around forever.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) Different malware. He is infected with the Hunter Wendlestedt Trojan, a variant of the Froemming Trojan. Corollary to the Angel Fernandez Syndrome.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:00 PM) Oh God I remember that game. That's probably the worst call I've ever seen in a baseball game, that homer would have gave us the lead and we ended up losing by 1. Man was I pissed. Eric Cooper may have the Marte Virus.
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) Hello this is Whitesox tech support how can we help you. Hi my name is Ozzie Guillen. I got the upgrade of Cotts to Cotts 2.1 2006 and this version is buggy. He cant seem to get lefties out. Well Mr. Guillen it looks like Cotts 2.1 had a virus in the code, the marte virus as its known. You need to remove that software from your system, and do a clean install of bmac 2.0. Bmac 2.0 can also help if any of your starters are infected with the marte virus. Great stuff.
  20. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) Remember when Cotts gave up a single and put men on 1st and 3rd with 1 out? Too bad McCarthy didn't come in. Ozzie finally makes a smart move by pulling a starter, then he puts the worst possible reliever in, at the time, to pitch in a big game. Great, so glad we got McCarthy for long relief. The use of McCarthy really is mind-boggling. He's not good enough to start, and then he's saved for silliness out of the bullpen.
  21. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) gosh darn...we need a new lefty out of the pen. Does he have to have huge feet? Because I know just the guy.
  22. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) Him and Boone Logan watch the games with Jose Contreras cousin in Cuba IIRC. They ride via horseback to a shack with a tv and satellite dish to watch it under the cover of night. Oo-la-la.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) Or re-signing PK and the eventually long-term deal to Crede. I know, I know. By the way, I think we've found the key to getting Ozzie to take Javier out before the 6th: just have him throw 120 pitches during the first five.
  24. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 10:38 PM) That much more money pumped into the team. That's right. It's nights like tonight that make Javier possible.
