Another good thing about F. Garcia is how he works at such a quick pace. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) Pods has to be closing in on a record for leadoff hitters taking a 3rd strike. Nice to see Freddy get out of the inning only giving up 1. Its ridiculous he's never ready to pitch in the first inning. He's fat and kind of lazy. My goodness, I've never seen Konerko pop up in the Metrodome. (Every game, actually.) -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 07:50 PM) Vazquez is the skidder. He starts losing streaks. I hate him. But I digress. -
QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:49 PM) I hate games that go to 1 AM that aren't in the playoffs. I like them less when we lose. C'mon, Bobby!
-
I liked how we handled Proctor.

QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) AJ swung at ball five Well, considering that he was totally handcuffed by two near-misses earlier in the at-bat, I guess it evened out.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:46 PM) My point was moreso.....Jeter in 2004 had an 0 for 37 slump, and the fans in NY STILL loved him. Can you imagine what they'd do to A-Rod if he had that kind of slump? Boo him more than now?

Yankee game plan is upstairs with the heat.
-
43 on the mound for the Yankees. Ah, memories of Jeff Nelson.
-
Ahem.

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) Did you see how quick Abreu got down to first on that easy out? That's what the Sox lack. That's what the Phillies lacked, too. Having been traded to the Yankees, Abreu now has decided that he wants to play.
-
Get it up, Matt.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:34 PM) i think they will use him, they always use him. Oh, they'll use him. Just looking for a reason why he might not be at his best. Of course, if we can maintain the lead, that would be better. Lots better.
-
I'm going to throw something out there right now. If, for whatever reason, Rivera gets in this game tonight, last night's rally will become important. Because of that rally, he had to pitch last night. And that'll mean that he's pitching 3 straight nights -- not optimal.
-
He will not get that same pitch past Dye.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) You know what's funny, the Twins were shut out by Ted Lilly, Boston was swept in KC and we are going toe to toe with the hottest team in baseball right now. For some reason the results of this game are meaningless to me. Javier showed some balls as did McCarthy. We are best team in the wild card race. I guess what I've noticed is that teams seem very hot when they're playing us. Boston looked like the best team in baseball before the All-Star break. Detroit looked awfully good in that series up there. The Twins -- well, we saw how that went. Either we're very unlucky to draw these teams when they're on fire, or they simply give us their best because we're the champs. In fact, I think it may be a little of both, actually.

Thome ready to lay one down.
-
Must take against Mike Myers. Take, take, take.

QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) How come you use the team name for the Yankees and Sox, but city (or state ) name for Detroit, Boston and Minnesota? Funny you should mention that. As I was typing, I got to "New York" -- Yankees just sounded more accepted -- and ominous. As does White Sox. White Sox is very ominous. Ominous, indeed. Be afraid, American League. Be afraid of our mighty mightiness.
-
I'm angry at Roger Bossard.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:17 PM) The entire team has been a pain in the ass. Detroit. Boston. Minnesota. The Yankees. White Sox. American League. Pretty good.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) Thornton coming in for Damon. Walk City.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) I don't mind it. I'd rather have Iguchi leading off next inning. Agreed.
