I watched this at home & almost got chills due to how insane the crowd was for Punk. They made the right move giving him the belt. Now it's time to see how they play it from here on out.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 14, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) Shaq to TNT. I do not like that. He and Barkley on the same show is too much. He should have gone to ESPN, because their broadcast sucks and could use some life. Shaq & Barkley will be gold. Too bad we most likely wont get to see any of it this year. -
QUOTE (The Critic @ Jul 13, 2011 -> 02:50 AM) I don't want them to overplay it like I feel they did with Nexus, but I think this is a short-term angle so stalling it would kill a lot of its heat. They have to be careful how they pace it, and I feel like this is an easy angle to blow. I worry that Vince is going to want some "WOW Moment" at MITB and will sacrifice the angle for some immediate payoff (like HHH running in or some such crap). When I say I don't want Punk being a face, I mean I don't want them to have him pander to the crowd. The crowd will decide, as Jim Ross loves to say, but I just want them to let Punk be Punk and let the crowd do what they want in response. I somehow see this happening. The WWE has the best angle they've run in quite some time (at least since the intitial Nexus forming) & they could completely blow it.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) It would be a BAD idea to cool the angle, IMO. Look how dead and buried the Rock/Cena thing is already. If Punk is staying, he needs to win the title and let Cena take some time off (AND STAY AWAY FOR MORE THAN A WEEK THIS TIME) or steal the belt and defend it in ROH (sending promos to Vince the entire time) while WWE guys invade ROH shows to try to get it back (all conveniently televised for WWE programming, of course). I wouldn't mind the Real World Champ angle, either, and I would like to see a heel Cena - although I don't know how you do that without turning Punk face. I like Punk so much better as a heel, it's way more natural for him. As for the bad idea to cool the angle. I can see where you're coming from, but at the same time I think you wanna sell the fact that if Punk wins, he's running away with the title. Maybe I wouldn't have him disappear completely but rather him do the ROH thing like you said & not actually appear on "WWE TV" but make it aware he has the title still. After about 6 weeks or so, I would then have Vince bring Cena back to be the superhero & getting the title back for the WWE. As for Punk being face, the reaction he got on Monday shows he can be that "tweener" that SCSA perfected. He's not a face really, but he's awesome enough that you wanna cheer him.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) The mid 20's kind of blow when you don't have a job.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:15 PM) That will not go over well in Chicago. I would like to see someone cash it in right away and lose and Punk still "leaves" with it. Since when has Vince let someone have all the glory in their hometown? I wouldn't mind seeing an angle where Punk wins, leaves for a few weeks. Cena also actually leaves for a while. You set up a tourney for a new champ, then have Punk come back & do the whole "real world champ" angle they did with Flair in the early 90s. Or have Vince get involved somehow, either screwing Cena or Punk. A heel Cena would be an interesting twist. Either way, I wish I didn't have to work because I'd defintely be in the building this Sunday.

Punk v. Cena will be epic in Chicago. I haven't watched a full episode of Raw/Smackdown in months, but I'm really thinking about pulling the trigger on some tix for MITB. Last night on Twitter Punk posted something along the lines of making history of July 17th & "going out w/ a bang" I wouldn't put a whole lot of weight behind it, but back in '05 Punk posted the same exact message the night before he won the ROH title. So we'll see what happens.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) M&M's are the best Mcflurry/Blizzard item IMO. I love the rainbow colored streaks in my ice cream with the delicious crunch. Oreo Blizzards over everything. I feel like I'm eating rocks when eating M&M blizzards. Doesn't matter anyway since I'm lac-tarded.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) Thought of the day: Restaurant name aside... What is truly a dick's last resort? Fat chicks?

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 05:47 PM) I couldn't finish season 1. I loved the show, but could not watch it by myself. Felt like I needed someone else to watch it with. I'd love to re-watch it again. I'll watch it with you...in a manly way of course...

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) Didn't know where to put this. Is it a bad thing that I would drink Coco's (Ice T's wife) urine if she asked me to? Someone's drunk again.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) Seeing Sarah Palin travel across the country in this big bus makes me wonder if she body slammed Yokozuna or something. For some reason I thought this was the coolest thing ever at 9 years old.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 02:07 AM) Well I wouldnt go that far.. for the most part they have kept the two main titles on their top talents.. but man the IC title use to be the tits.. the battles Razor Ramon and HBK had over it.. hell Razor and Double J.. it use to be prestigious and now its just kinda like here you have it for a while since we dont have anything to do with you right now.. My only gripe with any of these titles these days is that no one gets a serious run anymore. When the world title changes hands 16 times in the last two years, it tends to decrease the importance in my eyes.

The new Eminem & Royce Da 5'9" EP is very impressive. As you'd expect anything else from these two reuniting.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) Just to throw my two cents in this whole center debate... Shaq Kareem Wilt Hakeem Duncan Russell is in my second tier with Robinson, Ewing, etc. We're talking Tim Duncan I assume? The guy who's played at the 4 for most of his career? He's the greatest PF to ever do it IMO.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 02:42 AM) Remember when any title in the WWE actually meant something? Yeah, now its worthless.. Tweaked just a bit for more truth.

Early reports say Miz broke his leg in the dark match after Raw went off the air.

Happy Birthday good sir!

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 11:14 AM) THe key is you aren't asking him to be a starting 2. You are asking him to be your sixth man. Essentially, to be your Jason Terry. And I think he could be that. IIRC, he was asked to be the 6th man while here. He had a problem with it. What makes you think that he'll be okay with doing it now?
-
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 10:29 AM) Not for me. Yeah, but you're a different animal altogether.

A little early to be drunk isn't it?

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ May 2, 2011 -> 10:26 AM) I'll go out on a limb and guess you are more than just a casual fan? I had to restart the CD a couple times because I thought it was skipping. I'm still not sure it wasn't. I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore fan, but a little more than a casual. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 5, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) Anyone check out Odd Future Wolf's leaked version of Goblin? Speaking of Goblin, your thoughts on the album?
