QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 21, 2009 -> 03:16 PM) So its good that school is over in less than a month so theyll have the whole summer to relocate? I mean its not like he was born in SD and his whole family is there. Everyone is willing to agree to this, Peavy just wants to make sure that he gets some "consideration" for his waiving of the NTC. This is standard stuff, even if Peavy told his agent: "Do the deal" Im sure his agent said: "Jake we can probably get you that 20mil guaranteed, lets just hold out for a few hours." There is no incentive for Peavy to accept it this instant, its not like every hour he waits a million comes off the salary. So he is putting the Padres and the Sox behind the 8ball, as both of them want the deal done and all they need to do is give him something. At least thats my opinion on this whole subject. This kind of sums up most of the rational thoughts I've had about this deal in the past 20 minutes.

In.. but only because of the lack of a dominant team in the division. Maybe I'm stubborn, but I refuse to believe the Royals are going to continue to be this good.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 7, 2009 -> 08:42 PM) Did you know the Sox 2-5 starters have a collective ERA over 6.00? Did you know our #1 is pitching tonight? -

I'd say Mark is pitching pretty well. Would love to see him continue to pitch exactly this well for the rest of the game. -
QUOTE (goblue5699 @ May 7, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) Maybe he included the adult films he watched. I thought he had to stay inactive.. nobody watches adult films "inactive."

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 06:41 PM) You just opened up a whole new can of worms... I could open the "what if we had actually signed Torii Hunter" can of worms if we're opening cans of worms...

I'm working on half-sleeves on both of my arms. My best friend being a tattoo artist is pretty dangerous (and also cost-effective). I have a feeling that the next time my Sox-love hits a peak, I'll find somewhere to toss a Sox logo. I like BA's piece.. I like the bold colors.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Don't look now, but we've hit the s*** out of the Rays in this series. Don't look now, but we DO have a fully capable and functional, though probably quite streaky, offense.

Will White Sox fans also boo BA if he goes 0/8?
TheChrisSamsa replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'd be upset if he were batting leadoff... I think that was more of the issue than it being Wise, but the fact that it was an obvious misplacement in the lineup. That said, I hope BA does well so we can see a DW/BA platoon when Wise gets healthy. I liked what I was seeing from Wise once the team broke the early-season slump, and I liked BA taking a few walks and stealing those bases yesterday. Neither of them are all stars, but they can be functional major league players, unlike Jerry Owens. -
BA with 2 stolen bases today. Who does he think he is? Grady Sizemore?

QUOTE (dielac @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) Wise has seperated shoulder What's the recovery time on something like that?

Q! Homerun!

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 01:56 PM) I still think Wise sucks, but I hope he's ok. He's definitely coming around. Taking the pressure off and putting him later in the lineup has really helped him it seems.
-
Wise is moving around decently and looks like he'll be OK.. but he's coming out of the game anyway. My guess is it's precautionary.

Joe Crede video tribute from last night?
TheChrisSamsa replied to wilmot825's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Awesome video. Awesome player. My two favorite memories of Joe are in that video. The JOEEEE CREEEDEEE call at the end of that game vs. The Indians in 05, and his home-opener grand slam from last year (My first home opener and Joe brought us the victory). -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:18 PM) Getz is a f***ing stud. He's gonna have a long career in CHicago. I love Getz.. I really do, I've liked what I've seen of him since he came to the big club, but I'm really not sure where he's going to play. Lexi is at short, Fields is at third, and Beckham is quickly moving through the system. One of these guys is going to be bigtime trade bait, or they're going to have to pull the trigger on Lexi to CF, which doesn't seem to be an option, and from what we've seen of Lexi in CF, I can understand why. -

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 07:58 PM) josh is my new favorite. i'm glad i drafted him in my fantasy league. I took Crede over Josh.. As it stands it's a pretty much a wash so far, but I might have to make a move soon. -
