  1. my thread is only at 29 pages right now.. what's the usual post per page ratio because I think I have 50/page
  2. Nobody has updated their livejournal on the subject either...
  3. QUOTE (scenario @ Feb 19, 2010 -> 10:18 AM) Except Toby Hall. :lolhitting :lolhitting that was good.
  4. Kenny's comment is as telling as a typical "no comment." He's going to talk about a lot of subjects on Sunday, that's the first day of camp. Don't read too far into it. Kenny just got creative with how to say "no comment."
  5. Having Kotsay and Damon's wives both in the stands makes me wish we held on to Scotty Pods so atleast we could win the hot-baseball-wives competition.
  6. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) Why are we going after Damon? Where would he fit? His defense sucks...Pierre is basically playing the position he'd play....I like Pierre, Rios, Quentin and Jones all better than Damon. What's the end game if we get Damon? If the Sox sign Damon, that gives them a full roster of proven major league starting talent in the starting 9 and in turn, makes the bench better. Considering the improvements in starting pitching and bullpen, the team is quite the upgrade over last year's opening day cluster-cuss of question marks including Getz, Lillibridge, Wise, Anderson, Fields, Contreras, Colon, and bullpen guys like Mike MacDougal. Pierre(LF), Rios(CF), Quentin(RF), Konerko(1B), Beckham(2B), Ramirez(SS), Teahen(3B), Pierzynski©, and Damon(DH/OF) are the core starting 9 Kotsay(DH/corner OF, 1b), Vizquel(IF/pinchrun?), Jones(OF/DH), Castro©, maybe Nix (IF) are the bench... these guys are all very better used as bench players or playing the hot hand if someone slumps or gets injured (I'm looking at Konerko, Rios, Pierre, and Quentin) than rotating into the starting 9 on an every day basis. Buehrle, Peavy, Floyd, Danks, and Garcia are the starting 5 Jenks(closer), Thornton(7th/8th inning/LH situational), Putz(7th/8th inning/RH situational), Linebrink(middle relief), Hudson/Torres/Marquez (long reliever of some sort), and Williams (LOOGY if they don't carry Nix) are the bullpen. There's still some things to shake out regarding the placement of bullpen pitchers, but signing Johnny Damon makes our starting 9 and bench exponentially better with less question marks about how the team is going to produce.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 08:05 AM) +100 The fact that this thread has damn near 1000 posts is mind-boggling. Imagine if we were rumored to land Pujols? How many posts did the Adrian Gonzalez thread get?
  8. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Feb 15, 2010 -> 09:58 AM) I was in league 4, which I just happened to have won. My only request is that I be placed in a league where everyone will stay competitive. I don't want to commish only because I never have. Why start now? I'd love to get in on a competitive league as well. I played in a 12 team league (not via soxtalk) last year, and by May, five of the teams had completely stopped paying attention.
  9. Ben Rothisberger demolished my fantasy season in the semi-finals yesterday. I did well for my first season though, and now I'm hooked.
  10. Can't really trust Jennings or Foster just yet because we still don't know what the splits are. I'd stick with Williams in that situation, atleast you know he's a #1, regardless of if he's playing against the Vikings. I have Jennings too, mostly as a backup plan just incase something weird happened throughout the week.
  11. Does worst=disappointing and frustrating? Worst can be defined by awful numbers. Disappointing is more opinion oriented, which makes making the list more fun.
  12. Jon Heyman's twitter: Mariners looking pretty good this offseason.
  13. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 11:07 AM) I'm really regretting trading brett favre and brandon marshall for ronnie brown earlier in the season. goddamnit Yikes. Rough, in hindsight. Marshall has feast or famine tendencies though. That would have annoyed me enough to make that trade too. Orton didn't really pass to anyone but Marshall this week, can't really expect that to work every week.
  14. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Dec 6, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) The Chicago White Sox are not the kind of organization that runs garbage players out as everyday starters in Center Field, sorry Andrew. This post is best made without the use of green, considering the discussions that happen on this board regarding Center Field almost daily. Very well played.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 16, 2009 -> 05:55 PM) Larry Johnson Not for this week, but for next week and beyond, Larry Johnson.
  16. Between WRs and RBs, I have one must play player, Michael Turner, other than that it's a damn toss up as to who I should play. Burleson, Ward, Sims-Walker, Mason, Hightower, Betts, and Charles on my roster. they've all got 10-15 point potential, but chances are a few of them will under perform. I'm beginning to think a series of coin tosses will decide my line up best. Ugh.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 9, 2009 -> 11:15 PM) Dear Rashard Mendenhall: As a fellow Illini, I greatly appreciate you carrying the football team to a Rose Bowl a few years ago, so this is hard for me to say...but f*** you for not getting in the end zone on any of those last three runs. My fantasy team lost by 3 points. LittleHurt05 I won my game this week with big games from Hines Ward, Pittsburgh D, Michael Turner, Mike Sims-Walker, and otherwise average games from everyone but Matt Ryan... But I echo the "f*** Rashard Mendenhall" sentiments because I drafted Willie Parker, and he won't see any playing time, even when he is 100%, yet I still haven't had a reason to drop him, and I'm still hoping he comes back to life at some point.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 06:05 PM) still a rumor Thanks. I'm late to the party today.
  19. So.. is this deal actually happening or was everyone jumping the gun on a strong rumor?
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) /thread It worked!
  21. This year's Yankees team has played very solid baseball, and they've actually been enjoyable to watch. I don't care what their payroll is, they're the best team in baseball from roster slot one to roster spot twenty-five, and I respect that.
  22. Play two, maybe three if I go WR in my flex: Derrik Mason (vs Cincy), Hakeem Nicks (vs. SD), Mike Sims-Walker (vs. KC), Hines Ward (vs. Denver), Nate Burleson (vs. Detroit)..?? I have too many solid receivers that I'm willing to play.
  23. I'm still not sure how i feel about Swisher.. even as a yankee..
