  1. Does Bill Melton even pay attention to what happens with the White Sox? He "doesn't remember" what the deal was for Edwin Jackson.. It was pretty simple, Daniel Hudson, + a minor leaguer for Edwin Jackson.. He's paid to pay attention and talk about the White Sox.. how hard is that to remember? This isn't the first of these types of comments from him.. just seems silly.
  2. I hope the Twins are s***ting themselves right now, checking the scoreboard and we're still breathing down their necks. I also hope the Rangers have a soft spot for an awesome comeback and give us one of their own..
  3. -Baker left in the second inning with an elbow problem -Blackburn came in in the 13th and took the loss.. he was supposed to start tonight against the Rangers -Brian Duensing threw 2 innings after throwing 103 pitches on Tuesday. -Gardenhire mortgaged his rotation for the next turn around to try to win one game. -Capps couldn't pitch for a third straight game? I'm not sure what the workload was in those first few games, but given the situation I feel he would have made more sense than bringing in the starters. -Fuentes has a bad back. Their strength in pitching certainly seems to be weakened right now and the White Sox have Thornton coming back tonight and Putz on the brink. Torres and Harrell up in the bigs for mop-up or extreme situations if a game gets down to the 13th like this one did. -The White Sox gained a game in the off days. Sox won Monday, Twins lost Thursday.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 08:37 AM) Guys, if you want to talk about the economy or politics, take it to the Filibuster. And my g*d Caufield, did you really just make a post that somehow involved Manny Ramirez, Gross Domestic Product, Robert E. Lee and the atomic bomb? Credit where credit is due. All points made in his post were relevant to the conversation in this thread, though I could see it heading off topic, that was still one hell of a post.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) So you turning in your WS gear from 05 then? Bout at 99% chance at least 1 if not more on that team were on the juice at some point. Carl Everett?
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) Vince's quote was not as harsh as the inane comment he posted. Vince's is considered in the true spirit of competition. You bleed to win! This is a disgraceful day in White Sox history to acquire this guy. This one month rental of a masher has nothing on the day the White Sox signed Albert Belle. Put it in perspective.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 02:23 PM) By the way...something worth pointing out. Any trade has to be completed by Tuesday, right? Wednesday is the day the rosters expand. so I think someone would have to be sent down or DL'd to clear the roster spot for him on Tuesday...which is only important in that the person sent down couldn't be called back up when the rosters expand. Great thing about Thornton and Putz being on the DL is that you've got 2 guys on the 25 man MLB roster, who you certainly wouldn't be worried about bringing to the playoffs.
  8. I know pitchers are more babied now than ever, but will something like this take how young pitchers are handled to the next level of caution?
  9. EJIAA! This board is eating a full plate of crow! Ejax looked awesome tonight!
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 09:23 AM) Went to PNC Park Monday night. What a gorgeous park. Easily makes my top 5 list. And it also reminded me of how we screwed up royally with many of the decisions we made for our new park. I was there for the first time on Friday night and my trip to the park, as well as my good friend's wedding on the river completely turned around my opinion of Pittsburgh. My only other trips there were to shady parts of town, but this was absolutely gorgeous. Too bad The Pirates are so perennially bad that they can't get anyone in the door to see how awesome the stadium is.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSox @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 05:08 PM) i'll be there in the upper tank. bought 4 tickets as soon as they announced it. my original plan was to get there early and tailgate, now the plan is to get there early and get bobbleheads. It's ridiculous how excited I am for the bobblehead, and this day. My only problem is that I'm sitting in left-field.. so, I won't actually see his number on the wall until i make my usual walk around the stadium. When I bought these tickets I had assumed the Sox were out of the race, but them being even remotely competitive makes it even more exciting.
  12. Sqwert, I was curious if this game was opening up earlier to account for whatever presentation or ceremony they're doing for Frank, I know the usual times.
  13. I'll be there, not sure what section, but does anyone know if gates are opening earlier than usual or anything that day? I'd like to get in the stadium as early as possible, plus, I gotta get one of those bobbleheads!
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 05:06 PM) Win. All. 3. Yeah, f*** it, let's do that.
  15. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) Must. Win. Game. Must. Win. Series. I'd rather them lose tonight then take the series, compared to them winning tonight and losing the next 2.
  16. MLB pitchers are probably the most "heady" athletes in sports. Take a pitcher out of a pennant race and they might perform better, same goes when you put some guys into a pennant race. That's what this Hudson/Jackson trade was about. It was about getting someone with experience for someone who seemed to be crapping the bed in July.
  17. Here's an article with a picture of his busted face (kind of graphic)... Not saying he didn't assume the risk that we all take on when we go to a game, but he looks like he got hit pretty hard. NY POST
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 7, 2010 -> 11:38 AM) Hudson has done real good with Arizona. Two very well pitched games in a row and Javy Vazquez looked great for the Braves. There's a lot of weight to the NL vs. AL argument.
  19. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:17 PM) Stephen Jackson owns that one. Damn, must have been my nickname subconscious coming through.. football season is rapidly approaching.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:16 PM) What, not the EJackulator? I see what you did there.. we could just go with edWIN, ya know.. cuz he wins.. hopefully a lot.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:16 PM) I'm just going to call him Edwin. I like the name Edwin. But he'd look damn good in that tux.
  22. If we haven't settled on a nickname for EJax yet can we please consider Action Jackson?:
