WAS IT OVER WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBOR?
TheChrisSamsa replied to Nokona's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I feel like we've done this before.. Oh, we have... though, the consistency is impressive. Game on. -
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 09:22 AM) http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=531380 LOL, he thinks he has a nice butt My lady-friend agrees. That's why she always buys us tickets right next to the Sox bullpen. I wish I was kidding.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 05:15 PM) Did Melton just say we wouldn't win many ball games via the Homerun? Seriously? Yeah.. he's pretty much an idiot.
-
Jose looked pretty good, I still can't believe he's already pitching. I didn't catch Colon's performance but Melton says he pitched well (does what Melton say really matter?) I've been a little out of the loop.. any sort of projection on who's grabbing the last two rotation spots?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 2, 2009 -> 05:56 AM) Believe me, even that is better than what they offer in Cinci... I can agree with this.. but Kentucky is a good time generally, and only a hop skip and a jump away. I actually got lost trying to find where I was going in Cincy and ended up in Kentucky, which ended up being quite the journey.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 06:24 PM) Shaq is the only reason I have a twitter. Shaq's twitter is pretty awesome, but John Mayer(johncmayer) gives him a run for his money.

Freddy Garcia speculation (Closed - Garcia Signs W/Mets)
TheChrisSamsa replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jan 15, 2009 -> 10:56 PM) He looked good to me. I'm glad he took himself out of that game. I wonder if Ozzie ever thanked him for giving us a shot at the bullpen. What seems so impressive to me is that he is able to compete without his velocity. If KW can get Garcia for a contract like Colon's he should do it. This is not some sort of 2005 charity deal. Garcia is another low risk high reward. Like Colon, if Freddie sucks, he can be released if the contract is cheap enough and few would fault KW for taking the gamble. Best case is that Colon and Freddie return to glory days and Buehrle ends up being a 14 million dollar bullpen guy in the 2009 World Series. Worst case, the Sox are back to Marquez and CR/AP and we will see the kids develop in the rotation instead of in the pen. I see what you did there. -

Alexei with the #5 Greatest SportCenter Highlight of 2008
TheChrisSamsa replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I was hoping that play would make the list.. I remember it being #1 that day and week on the top 10 plays, and listening to the Sportscenter Anchors just laugh in awe of how awesome the play was.. Glad it made the list for the year, maybe next stop is the ESPYs.. hah! -
I had almost forgotten how fun those last few days were. Damn, I miss baseball.

Wise agrees to 1 year $550K deal w/Sox
TheChrisSamsa replied to chisox2334's topic in Pale Hose Talk
if he's our fifth outfielder, i'm ok with it. -
Good move for the Tigers. I had a longshot hope that Jackson was going to end up on the SouthSide.

Rumors: Sox/Reds Talking Dye for Bailey Swap
TheChrisSamsa replied to Dick Allen's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 7, 2008 -> 09:20 PM) well, I can honestly say I'd be happy if this deal went through, and Happy if it didn't. I agree. I could go either way on this one, if young and stacked is what we're going for.. then we're succeeding with this deal, assuming Bailey turns into a decent piece to the long-term puzzle. Would be nice to see some of the money we're saving go into use elsewhere though. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 7, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) I think Cowley is smart with this twitter thing. People will appreciate his quick info and develop a relationship with him. Definitely has worked with me.. Though, I use it for the same reasons with my band, fans love feeling super connected to everything going on. It works well for blogs and news sites too, they just post a link to a new post, one of my favorites is the Chicago Redeye Twitter, which actually uses responses in most days editions, and posts up to the minute Chicago-centric news. /offtopic -
Rumors: Sox/Reds Talking Dye for Bailey Swap
TheChrisSamsa replied to Dick Allen's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Cowley on Twitter 3 minutes ago: "Dye trade is being shot down by some sources now. Hold off on the Homer Bailey jerseys for right now." -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) Even after his injury problems this year you're expecting someone to offer him 5/60? As a 31 year old? If someone offers him that they can have him. I'd be interested around the 3/36 area. I'd take him at 3/36, potentially an incentive based contract due to his injury history
-
I couldn't imagine it being anything but 35. 13 will happen eventually. As much as we moan about Ozzie here on the boards, he will always be remembered for bringing us a world series championship, and being a quality player when he was playing here as well.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) I'm always for more fans filling the stadium and larger payrolls as a result. My girlfriend calls him the White Sox Garbage Monster. What the heck is he supposed to be, anyway? Shag carpet incarnated?

I like swisher. He had a down year, but he's young and I think he'll bounce back. If that happens, he may be a bigger piece of the greater puzzle, as well as CQ, Danks, Floyd and Lexi. If not, he'll be moved. I'm supportive of bringing Swish back for another year and seeing what happens.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 07:57 PM) That trade when we got him sucked!!!11 I loved McCarthy!! wow.. this trade looks just as good as the Freddy Garcia trade that brought Floyd over. Kenny has done a good job with our starting pitching. I've liked Danks since I saw him pitch in-person last year, I sa w him on the bump 4 times this year as well, and I couldn't be happier with him on this team. I hope he sticks around for a long time and anchors the rotation with Mark and Gavin.
