  1. I'm sure he meant by means of all time wins, which they are. Top NCAA Football Programs By Wins Tenn has a few things for a coach to be concerned about. There was a time when Fulmer absolutely killed it in out of state recruiting. The borders of North Carolina and South Carolina have really closed down, making it that much tougher to pull the elite kids from this area. Add to that, they are looking for their 4th head coach since 2008? This is a big time make or break hire overall, in both overall program stature, and boosters eyes I'm sure too.
  2. QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 01:46 PM) I live about 40-45 minutes from Wisconsin, and I'm jealous of one of my college roommates who lives in Madison now and can get it any day he pleases. But at least I'm able to get it occasionally; it would indeed suck to be that far away. Does South Carolina have much in the way of an active craft scene? My area is pretty active for craft beer actually. I'm surrounded by Thomas Creek, Highland, Sweetwater, Terrapin (my personal fav atm), COAST, and RJ Rockers. Over on Beer Advocate forums, so far Terrapin stuff has been the one thing I can offer up and people are interested in.
  3. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 3, 2012 -> 07:12 PM) New Glarus makes a really good sour beer. They are fast becoming one of my favorite microbrews. Must be nice to actually be able to get NG stuff. Sucks for anyone outside of Wisconsin that actually wants to try it, though. Same deal with Hill Farmstead in Vermont. Plenty of stuff both make, that will never see the light of day outside of their states, and DEFINITELY not down in South Carolina.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 3, 2012 -> 09:42 AM) Yeah, Andrea is horrible. Hopefully she somewhat avenges herself and helps out Darryl. I didn't read the comics, though I am very tempted to right now, so I don't know if this Darryl/Merle meet-up resembles anything, but I'm really interested to see what happens. My guess is the Governor forces Merle to try and kill his brother to "prove" he is not one of them Darryl didn't exist in the comics. Now, AMC is going to have a hell of a time getting rid of him, he quickly became the fan favorite.
  5. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 07:58 PM) Things not looking too good for my old neighborhood buddy Brad Brownell at Clemson. Doesn't help when your leading scorer gets arrested on gameday for weed. I was at the game, and Milton Jennings would have made a difference in the game. Would it have meant a Clemson win? Maybe not, but they wouldn't have been down 20 at the half, or been dominated on the boards in the 1st half like they were.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 24, 2012 -> 11:56 PM) Clowney would be the first pick in the draft if he was eligible. Clemson's OC tried to outsmart the Carolina DC, I guess...no idea what he was doing...he never bothered to even chip Clowney, or double team him. Hey, its ok to admit you have to use 2 players to block arguably the nation's best defensive talent. But no, "just gonna try to use this one guy and I'll be fine..."
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 24, 2012 -> 11:46 PM) Yeah, I was shocked at Florida pounding FSU on the road. USCe beating Clemson was also impressive. With a backup QB and 3rd string RB, might I add...
  8. YES!! I knew we'd get Brian Anderson back, one day!! Oh wait.....
  9. We don't have very much talent at this point, but dang if Frank Martin isn't entertaining to watch on the sidelines...thanks again Kansas State, the Christmas card is in the mail.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) Trust me, I'm a huge Clowney fan. That USC/UGa game last year was probably my favorite game of the year. I actually saw a projection that had GT playing USC in a bowl game. No matter what GT's record is, I want NO part of that offense. We can't even stop FCS teams running the triple option. I want nothing to do with a Paul Johnson team with 3+ weeks to prepare.
  11. I think that came out wrong. What I MEANT to say was, I dont think either Te'o or Clowney are deserving of any talk for the Heisman, not even remotely. But somehow that didn't correlate to what I typed. Te'o has done nothing overall to deserve an invite to NY, much less actual consideration for the trophy.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) He's not even the best defensive player on his own team (Tuitt has much more impressive stats). Jarvis Jones of UGa is probably the most impactful defensive player in the country. Rock, Te'o has 1.5 sacks, not 10. Not sure I'd agree with the Jarvis Jones bit. He flat out disappeared in a few games this year, including the blowout vs. South Carolina. I'd argue that Jadeveon Clowney has more of an impactful presence than Jones, and I don't think he is remotely close to being deserving of such talk that Te'o is getting for the heisman.
  13. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 04:34 PM) Sorry the score won't be 75-72, but it could still be a great football game. Coming from a guy with a team in the SEC, this post is interesting. Not sure how anything ND has done this season is considered 'exciting' honestly. And no, I don't want a 75/72 game either, but I guess something about a defensive battle isn't appealing. Offense > defense in terms of which is more enjoyable to watch. And lets be honest, only the true fans of a team really think a defensive oriented team is a joy to watch. No one else gives a damn about watching 10 points in a game. If I wanted to watch that, I'd watch soccer. About the same amount of scoring. And yes, my team is a mediocre offensive team that relies on defense. I'd much rather watch a team that I thought could score 40 points a game, with an average defense instead.
  14. Alabama-ND would be the biggest snoozefest Title game ever. Sorry, nothing appealing about 2 mediocre offenses pillow fighting each other for the title.
  15. As an outsider, I have to say the ND blatant homerism is comical if nothing else. Good reading here!

http://www.hardywood.com/content/hardywood...d-stout-release If only I had a contact in Richmond, VA....I'd be mighty happy to pay for the giftset they are selling this Saturday on Gingerbread Stout launch day...

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 10:14 AM) Been looking for this one for a while. Am I going to be able to find it when I get to IL this weekend? Good luck. It disappeared pretty quickly in my area down south.

QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 06:26 PM) You either love it or hate it. I hate it. Thats just blaspheming....I went through 4-6 Pumpkin beers in the last few weeks, and by far, Pumking was the superior one IMO.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) As I am a big Leinenkugel's guy, I had to try their new Snowdrift Vanilla Porter that just came out over the weekend. I have to say it is quite tasty. I'm not big into vanilla, but it wasn't a real strong vanilla taste to it. Had one myself. It was...ok I guess, I was expecting more vanilla oomph myself, and didn't get it. Otherwise, a decent tasting beer.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 6, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) There's going to be another QOTSA album, and Dave Grohl is going to play drums on it. And if we're lucky enough, there will be a tour following, with Dave aboard. And I will be there, wherever it may be. Speaking of music and a totally different direction, I'm TOTALLY bummed that, of the 12 shows that the Monkees (Peter, Micky, Mike) are doing, NONE are even remotely close to the Southeastern U.S. But, I am off to see The Who tonight, so that almost makes up for it.
  21. No offense, but James Franklin is just about the worst SEC QB I've seen this year, and that is saying a lot. Nonchalant, no zip on anything, can't throw a deep ball to save his life. Mizz coulda won that game with even a serviceable QB.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) I am not sold on K-state. I would like to see Bama vs Oregon. No thanks, SEC vs Oregon v1.0 wasn't good enough to re-do. I'll take KState or Alabama vs...gulp, Notre Dame. I hate the Irish, but I don't want to see Oregon's Pac10/12 track meet get stymied yet again against anyone east of the Mississippi.
  23. That was gruesome looking, poor kid. At some point, mentally, this has to really make you question if you want to keep taking the risks.
  24. The offense is below average at best at Florida. Course, you give any team 21 points in the first half, they should be able to win. 3 weeks in a row that Florida hasn't even thrown for 100 yards, and still won.
  25. WTB: Offensive Coordinator with a pulse, must be able to override s***ty calls by the head coach. Apply within.
