  1. Rest assured BH...i'm here watching on mlb.tv with ya!!! And I'm currently at work. Go Devil Rays!!!
  2. Theres no question that Shoeneweis has been nothing short of craptacular so far this spring, but I'll still reserve judgement until I see him flounder in his first 2-3 starts. Then I'll begin to wonder. I think honestly we know what to expect from Buehrle, and Loaiza can at least win 15 IMO. My boy JonnyG will be strong this year. That leaves Schoen and Danny Wright....2 BIG question marks at the back end of our rotation.
  3. 1 IP, 1 ER.....OMG thats a horrid outing!!! Give it a break guys. Let Koch at least do someting in the regular season before you bury him. I know its gonna happen anyways.(The burying, not necessarily the bad things)
  4. I find it hard to believe that Dransfeldt has a shot at making this team....but if Gload is already in, then I'm not sure we need Burke as a 3rd catcher/1B type. We may need the Dransfeldt type of third baseman/shortstop. In other news, nice to see my guy Jonny G getting on track. I'm predicting big things for Jonny G and my boy AaRow in 2004!!!
  5. I dunno about that Steff...before yesterday, like i said earlier, Koch has actually presented pretty good control. Actually, he has been spotting his off-speed stuff quite well. I have confidence that he can control his stuff if he is throwing 93-95. If Billy knows he can get it back to 97+, I fear that he will start the "I'll throw it by you" mentality, and we'll see some screaming lasers going out the other way.
  6. You forgot this color there
  7. Yeah, i was listening to the Brewers announcers. They said Billy got one uo around 97. Honestly, I'm not sure we wanna see that, because before today, Koch had been doing a damn fine job of getting his breaking pitches to hit spots he needed to. I'm afraid that if he discovers he can hot 96-97, its back to "Hey, I can throw this fastball right by you" mentality, and we will see some 450 ft lasers going the other way.
  8. No doubt...one of those songs that you can't put a lifespan on. It is one that speaks through the years, of its simplistic idea.....Imagine the way things could be. Still one of my favorites to hear, anytime.
  9. Yeah, a spread with Jessica, The Olsen Twins, Amanda Bynes, Hillary Duff...WHEN OF AGE I MEAN, would be one of the best selling, if not THE best selling issues ever.

    I'm back...

Wow I wanted to get to Arizona this year, but with a Vegas trip looming in 4 weeks, it wasn't economically feasible. The nly time I've ever been to ST was back in 1992 in good ole Saeasota. I loved that place. To a 15 year old(at the time), I was amazed that I could go outside the main park, and have 3 other games goin on AND see teh MLB guys that weren't playing in the main game that day getting some BP in. That was the first time I stood beside Black Jack...jeez he is a tall guy, or maybe its because I was 15 :>)
  11. Hmm, lemme try to remember... Challenger Explosion- 3rd Grade, on the bus headed home. We were 8, so we didn't really understand the consequences of what just happened. 9/11 - Actually, was at my dentist for a cleaning. Each exam room had its own TV, and we just sat there watching, in shock. My dad passing away- Was staying over at a friends house out of town. My moms best friend came to pick me up at his house, and wouldnt talk to me at all. I asked why my mom didn't pick me up, and my moms friend stated crying. I knew something bad was going on.
  12. No way in hell i'm trading Rauch and Koch for Jarrod Washburn. Wash is making alot of money, and I'm not sure if he is even signed after 2004. I'd rather give Borchard to them myself.
  13. ............................. Ouch. Boo My signature at your own discretion.
  14. If we could swing a deal for Washburn, and somehow get Anaheim to pay a small part of that contract, I could move someone like Joe Borchard. As much of a question mark as Borchard is right now, I'd have to make a move like that. Well, that also depends on Washburn's status contract-wise after 2004. Someone find that out for us...
  15. I think Koch could throw 250 MPH and strike out 6 guys per inning, and some of you wouldn't be happy. WTF...so he isn't throwing 98 MPH now. Did you watch him pitch today? Koch is spotting his breaking pitch perfectly off the outside of the plate to righties, and not hanging any fastballs dead center of the plate. Deal with it, Billy is our man, and as long as he gets guys out without giving up runs, he should be.....whether he throws 90 MPH, or 290 MPH.
  16. Heres my setup of the pen: LH Specialist: Kelly Wunsch RH Specialist: Mike Jackson LH Setup: Damaso Marte RH Setup: Shinjo Takatsu RH: Cliff Politte RH Long Reliever: Jason Grilli Closer: Billy Koch Depends on who Ozzie decides is the 5th starter, which at this point should definately be Danny Wright till he proves otherwise. I can certainly live with that bullpen at this point. Getting Marte/Takatsu/Koch at the end of a game could be a great thing for Sox fans.
  17. Welcome to our little Sox corner of America Munkey!!! Don't ask me to make a sig for you, though!! You can tell I have no sig skills-o-rama!!
  18. Well, we are a good 1/3 of the way through the Spring Training schedule I think, and I wanted to make sure I pointed out a few guys that are simply gettin it done in Tucson: #1- Aaron Rowand---- I am so happy that he is showing so far he can handle the pressures of playing CF for a MLB team. 17 ABs, 9 H, 2 R, 2 2B, 1 HR, 8 RBIs, 1 SB Keep it up AaRow, keep it up!!! #2- Billy Koch---- Yes, I'm a bit biased because for most of 2003 I was Koch's only supporter on this board it seemed like. But you can't aruge his numbers so far, with or without a 100 MPH Fastball. 3 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K's We need you back to 2002 status this year Billy. #3- Jose Valentin---- Well, all I can say is please continue to always hit lefty all year. We all know of your inability as a right hander. 13 ABs, 6 H, 4 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 4 RBI. We need to have the Jose of 2000 back to make a run at this division. I know its still way early, but I just wanted to throw a few names out there of the guys that have looked pretty solid so far in ST. Please feel free to add some of your own.
  19. Agreed UofI. I don't wanna let the kid make the team just so he can sit and watch MLB games from the bench all year. Let AaRow have his shot, and JReed will get plenty of time to patrol the Southside Outfield when Maggs walks.
  20. Just hire Dave Odom to take Georgia out for ya if they make it, he seems to be able to handle them easily. Kentucky, on the other hand....... And I'm in.

    Computer Shopping

Sorry cw, you are in the very small minority on that issue. Maybe you need to watch this video to remind you how most of us feel about Apple products.
  22. Lol, I gotta keep reminding myself I'm the only SEC school supporter here. I keep wondering why we are talking about teams like freaking Northwestern, then I remember the area of most of the posters.
  23. Websters definition of "Backing into March Madness" -- see the University of South Carolina Basketball team Goddamnit. I've never seen such a piss-poor display of basketball, on senior day no less, than I saw tonight. You let a Kentucky team that is down this year come into your place, and run your ass up and down the court. I am NOT happy with how this team has degressed this year. Its hard to understand sometimes.
  24. I'm closing this you 2. I'm not getting involved in whatever beef you seem to have with each other in alot of topics, but I am suggesting that old issues aren't brought back to the forefront to further fuel all this bickering. You are more than welcome to use PMs to vent to each other, but not a good idea to keep rehashing it all.
