Whatever it takes to not have JosE6 on the roster in 2004, I'm all for it.

my man, showing what little life we still have
  4. OK, f*** all those previous thoughts...after watching this team in a clutch series, I've changed my thought stream concerning this team all together. Here are the people I wanna see on this team in 2004: Joe Crede, 3B- The kid is gonna be good, still learning Miguel Olivo, C- See above Carlos Lee, LF- Carlos is coming into his own, and should be the LFer for us Aaron Rowand, CF- He is young, and deserves a shot to play all year Mark Buehrle, P- Still young, and still a stud in my eyes Jon Garland, P- At 23 years old, I love having this guy as a #3/#4 Magglio Ordonez, RF- Maybe the only big money player we should keep You know what, I'm struggling to think of anyone else I wanna see on this team next year. Put any youngsters from the minors where ever else is left. I don't care to see Jose f***ing Valentin or Frank f***ing Thomas on the roster next year.

Halladay with the CG, 6 hitter. 7 K's, no BBs. 21-6, 3.18 ERA. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2003 American League Cy Young winner.

This team is folding up tight like Reinsdorfs wallet. I haven't seen such a pisspoor effort in a meaningful game in quite some time. Garland could pitch a 1 hitter, and still lose this game I'm afraid.

Call this one in, boys....I'd love to be proven wrong, but I've seen how this team hits whilst behind by 3 or more...I'm calling it game over.

Don't think thats not what Sox hitters #2,3,6 and 8 are thinking.

Hmmm, maybe you should check his stats for his previous 6 starts.....it'd prove your argument to be wrong.

Nice to see the patented Frank Thomas right field popup....Jesus, I'm so tired of that.
  17. That 14 mill that Maggs is gonna make is definately sticking out in JR's mind, I'm sure. Yeah, Frank is almost a given to take that 6 mil option, unless some team really goes after him, not sure who would. The situation is, we need to 1)keep Jose from the PA vesting, 2)do everything we can to see Konerko moved elsewhere, 3)go after Kazuo Matsui. Everett is not a necessity, just a nice option to have. But he will want more than JR is gonna offer up I believe.
  18. Heres the question, Molto....will JR spend 3.1 mill on a middle relief/setup guy in Sullivan? Priority-wise, I want 1)same 4 starters back, 2)a damn good SS, either Matsui(want more) or Tejada, 2b)Robbie back at 2B, 3)Everett back. If we can let Thomas walk after this year, thats something that you really have to think about. Thats a nice chunk of money. If we could move Konerko...then we will have to keep Thomas....which one would you rather have for now? I'll take the 6 mill Thomas over the 8+ mill Konerko. Will someone take him? Thats the question. Between Jose, Everett, and Konerko/Thomas, we can pare off at LEAST 20 mill!!! Thats going by what they made in 2003. If you can do that, thats enough $$$ to take care of Colon, Robbie, a damn fine SS, pay raises where earned, and arbitration.
  19. If reed tears up spring training, then I'd start him. Neither Borchard or Rowand have put up good numbers to earn the start. Now if they also have huge springs its another story. Reed should be in AAA regardless. You can play Borchard in right with Reed in AAA. Either way Rowand/Borchard will likely be in Chicago next year. Jason, when was AaRow given a fair shake at CF, whilst being healthy? He can't justifiably lose his position without even having a shot to actually play it.
  20. Don't think you are gonna get Everett back at even 5 mill per. With his power display this year, we are more or less showcasing him for some other team. Sullivan at 3.1 mil option for 2004 won't happen. Foulke I can imagine will commany 7 mill per, plus with he and KW not seeing eye to eye, he won't ever wear the silver and black again, IMO. Thats leaves our pen with Marte, Gordon (hopefully we will resign both), Koch, Wright, Stewart maybe?. And Schoeneweis will be either the #5 starter, or the same role he has this year.
  21. Yeah, you would think that they could let Everett and Jose walk away, along with Daubeach, Rios and Wunsch. Thats 15.625 million off the books, so to speak. That is enough to pay Buehrle, bump Colon up a bit, and still find a reasonably good shortstop, a la Kazuo Matsui. I don't see how Matsui is a losing proposition to a guy like JR. The merchandising and interest overseas alone would be enough reason to seriously consider Kazuo. I'd rather have this guy than Tejada right now, IMO.

Its funny, cause I wear my copy of The White Album Disc 1 out, but not so much the 2nd disc. Of course, my list could change in 2 months, if I get on a Revolver/Rubber Soul kick. Its just that Let it Be, Abbey Road and The White Album are what I've been listening to alot lately.
  23. I am ready for AaRow to finally get a REAL shot at CF. If he comes out of ST healthy, and doesnt have another motorcycle wreck in the off-season, there is no reason he shouldn't be given first dibs on that job.
  24. Capn12 replied to Bmr31's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well, its the Reinsdorf way....why change it now? Let Jose have the last 4 games off, and we save $5 mill off the payoll right there, which will pay for Maggs' salary increase.

Careful...the voice of reason doesn't always go over so well here!!!
