  1. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 28, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) Losing 9-0 isn't about getting breaks or not getting breaks. Losing 9-0 is called "getting hammered." I disagree with that. We really didn't get any breaks today. Granted we failed to cash in at times too, and that hurt, but that will happen sometimes too. But in terms of the breaks we didn't get any, like balls squeaking into the outfield that maybe shouldn't have, or the 2 out error in the 1st the Indians made last night that cost them two. Those sorta things didn't happen today.
  2. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 28, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Why does Tigerfan not post a gamethread on the days that the Tigers are getting smoked? Ha ha. I don't need to post them anymore really, you guys know what's going on. As for us, we just had one of those days today. Sometimes the breaks go your way, other times they don't, and today it was the latter for us. We'll be ok rest assured.
  3. LOL true, but still though he relys on his heat a little too much. Look what happened when he tried to get it by Griffey.
  4. What's amazing is they tied it in the bottom of the 17th on a homer leading off. 18th now BTW
  5. Well whether he stays in pen for the long haul or not, he needs time to be able to get guys out with more then just his 100 mph heat. That may work for now, but eventually teams will adjust.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 27, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) If we can post on this board that means we have access to the game (MLB.TV. Gamecast, Gameday Audio, etc). True I did think about that a minute ago, I think if I a recall I registered here for some other reason, don't recall why now, I wanted to post somewhere I think on some topic. In that case I suppose I won't do them, not really neccessary anyway.
  7. And there's your ballgame! 8 in a row! QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 27, 2006 -> 07:11 PM) Curious...isn't there a Tigers board you should be on? I do actually post over at a Tigers board too. I just started doing this so you guys are aware of what we are doing, in case you can't see the game or something.
  8. Double play again! That's 4! Incredible!
  9. And it is indeed Jones. 0-1 record with a ERA of 3.31, but 15 saves in 16 chances for him so far. Let's see if he can't make it 16 of 17. Hafner leads off with a single.
  10. Guillen strikes out to end the 8th. Jones should be coming in for the 9th I'm thinking.
  11. 1 out double for Grandy. Alright now, let's get this insurance run in, could definitely use it. Base hit for Polanco! Grandy comes around to score, and though Polanco is tossed out at 2nd, we got that all important insurance run. 3-1.
  12. Oh yeah, huge! Now let's see him get out of it with Peralta at the dish. Got em to groundout! Paul Byrd is done, and Fernando Cabrera is in. Numbers for him are not good. 0-1, with a 7.07 ERA.
  13. Indeed it was close, a little too close. Great play by Monroe to make the grab too incidentally.
  14. Flyout to left, Boone goes over to 3rd.
  15. Verlander out, Rodney in. Record of 3-1, 1.31 ERA Leadoff double for Boone.
  16. Hollandsworth grounds out to 1st for the 3rd out. QUOTE(3E8 @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) tigerfan, is there any chance that Zumaya will move into the rotation for Maroth or will he stay in the pen this year? Not really sure, the word right now is maybe Walker might take over for the moment, or possibly someone from the farm system. We got some solid arms there from what I understand. 2 out single for Monroe. Inge strikes out. End of 7.
  17. Erased on double play. Maggs grounds out to end the inning. 2 out single for Belliard in the 7th.
  18. Polanco singles to start the bottom of the 6th.
  19. Hafner strikes out swinging to end the threat.
  20. Blake hit by a pitch with 1 out. 1st and 2nd for Peralta. Peralta strikes out swinging.
  21. 1 out single by Peralta. Yet another double play gets Verlander out of trouble. Bottom 4. Getting some big plays with the glove tonight, 3 double plays and the pickoff by Verlander earlier. Leadoff double by Shelton. Shelton is erased on a rundown after a grounder to short by Monroe. He's on 1st with 2 out for Inge. Monroe caught stealing at 2nd. 5th inning on the way. 2 out double for Belliard Hollandsworth strikes out to end the inning. 1-2-3 bottom 5th. Still 2-1 going to the 6th. Leadoff double for Boone.
  22. Sizemore leads off the 4th with a homer to right. 2-1.
  23. Indians get a 1 out walk to Blake, but he gets picked off at first after Verlander fans Peralta. Tigers coming to bat in a 0-0 game. Maggs goes deep with 2 out, after Guillen reaches on a misplayed ground ball by Broussard. 2-0 Tigers. Shelton singles to center. Hannahan strikes out to end the inning. Hafner leads off with a single, but gets erased on a double play. Bottom 2, still 2-0. Byrd gets em in order in the 2nd. 2-0, into the 3rd. Another double play helps Verlander following a Broussard single. Bottom 3, 2-0. 1 out double for Polanco. Doesn't score though, as Guillen strikes out, and Maggs grounds out to 1st. Headed to the 4th, up 2.
