  1. Why can't I? Last I checked this was a free country was it not? Just because people may not like what I have to say, does that mean I have to shut up completely?
  2. QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) Why are you not banned yet. You are not welcome here. Goodbye! I'm just stating view on the whole thing. If you don't like it, then you don't like it. Isn't gonna stop me from expressing it though.
  3. Still this whole thing is stupid IMO.
  4. I don't get the celebrating. It's not like the Cards pitcher hit you guys on purpose.
  5. 10-0 now in the 4th, Pudge went deep with one.
  6. It's 8-0 now, Monroe homered as well in the inning.
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 12:20 PM) I'm convinced that Mother Nature hates me. Everytime I go to a game, it rains or there is a threat of rain, and why should tonight be different? I'm the Al Bundy of Sox fans! Are you a shoe salesman?
  8. Could say the same for the Sox right about now.
  9. You could say the Tigers hit that point already, and they reacted pretty well (not to mention a little help to keep them in first)
  10. I think it would be the Sox really. I mean for us would it be nice to have some separation? Yes of course it would. But the fact that you guys keep winning too, is helping us really. Because this way should the Tigers fall out of 1st at some point, they'll likely have a substantial lead in the wild card. So it's sort of a win win situation in a way.
  11. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 05:50 PM) To be perfectly honest, I didn't expect the Cubs to win a game against Detroit. The motor city kitties hit 6 home runs today against the Flubs pitching. Actually it was 8.
  12. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) The only team that got fired up was the SOX in 2000 I disagree, we were really struggling at the time of the fight. After that we picked it up some for a time. Heck when September came around we were looking at a possible wild card slot. Didn't pan out but still, a far cry from how we started the year.
  13. Indeed, won the division that year too I do believe.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) Anyway, tigerfan I will respectfully disagree with you. Winning is a great way to make a statement, but you can be a bunch of pussies and still win. It takes a little more to get real respect around the league. Standing up for your teammates is part of that. It must be my Irish up-bringing showing through. If somebody hits me, I hit back. And it won't stop until somebody is in the hospital. I respect your opinion but to me fighting really doesn't prove that much, except that you can do it. I mean if you brawl with a team and still get your butt kicked 12-2, then what good was it really? You may have won the battle, but you still lost the war. I will say this though, as much as I don't agree with the whole retaliation deal, sometimes a fight like that can bring a team together, and get them fired up. The Sox/Tigers brawl in 2000 seemed to have that affect on the Tigers. They were struggling before that, and actually made a playoff push late in the year. In regards to Showalter not getting any heat for what happened the other night, I think had Ozzie not gone off the deep end publicly with Tracey, maybe he would have taken some criticism also.
  15. I know a lot of you guys won't like this, but I agree completely with Jay's column. I think this whole retailiation crap is stupid. The object is get the guy out, not to knock him on the seat of his pants. If you want to make a statement, then embarass the other team by beating them on the field where it matters most. Furthermore regarding what Ozzie did, I think it should have been handled differently. If he was gonna yell at him like that he should have done it away from the cameras. Also, the guy is a rookie, don't put him in a situation like that. If Ozzie really wanted to hit Blaylock, he should have had someone in there who would be more likely to do it. Someone who's been around for a while.

    Comedians

To me nobody can beat Bill Cosby. He was (and still is) funny without cursing up a storm (which really can't be said about many comics these days). His stories are classic too. Like the one about going to the Dentist for instance, or the hilarious 3 part Noah's Ark bit. Just some great great stuff with him.
  17. After seeing it again, I would agree with that. Though they were both amazing in their own way.
  18. Wow that was the same play I was thinking of, but viewing it now I find it more amazing then I did before when I saw it.
  19. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:31 AM) With no disrespect to the outstanding play that Rogers made last night, comparing it to Tad throwing out a guy while flipping over in mid-air is ridiculous. Wait, I think I'm misunderstanding which play you're talking about. I'm thinking of the play against Toronto at US Cellular, where it was a grounder to short, and the guy made the throw off balance sort of, and still got the out at first. Is this the same one you are referring to?
  20. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) Check out Iguchi's play from earlier in the year. That was an amazing play! Was that the one against Toronto? If so, I will agree it was a pretty awesome play. The one Rogers made was awesome too though if for no other reason then the fact that he actually was able to get over to the ball in time, and get the runner at first on top of it. It was incredible.
  21. I wouldn't do this usually, but I have to ask, did anyone get a chance to see Kenny Rogers a few seconds ago? If you missed it, make sure you catch the webgems on Baseball Tonight, I can guarantee you it will show up there. Tigers fan or not, you'll likely agree that it's one of the best plays you've ever seen. If there's a better one out there, I'd love to see it.
  22. Or as Derek Jeter calls him "Canoe"
  23. QUOTE(Wolverine31 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 06:46 PM) 7-0 in the 5th with a chance for more Yep, great inning. Makes up for leaving the bags full in the 3rd. Inning over now BTW.
  24. Tigers up 2-0 in the 5th, got the bases full with no outs currently. Make it 4-0, Guillen doubles in 2.
  25. I had a feeling a mental error would bring this one to an end. That's generally what happens in games like this.
