Official College Basketball Thread

This game is really sad. If you're not watching it's Kansas 29, Nebraska 6! And there's 12 minutes gone in the game! -
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 25, 2007 -> 05:22 PM) Where did I ever say, "Silence the Church!"? My original comment said that the Church should protect its own members before it criticizes a movie for "promoting pedophilia and rape" and furthered the hypocrisies presented by another poster. You didn't have to, the way you expressed it your view about the church speaking out on this said plenty.

Words cannot begin to describe the stupidity of anyone who would actually think this guy as 12 years old. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070124/ap_on_...x_offender_ruse

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 07:08 AM) Sale of the Century was IT. Funny you say that. It's coming back this fall under the name Temptation.

Press Your Luck was a great 80's show too.

Agreed, that was the best finish I've ever seen to a football game. Just unbelieveable! It had everything! Then to top it off, you get a marriage proposal too! Just unreal. WTG on the sideline guy spoiling the marriage proposal though lol. Still a great moment though, to cap off a incredible night. -
1. I have been battling a sex addiction for quite some time now. 2. I once hosted a version of Family Feud at my high school. 3. I have a rather large collection of Australian and UK game shows downloaded from torrents. 4. I once met legendary broadcaster Ernie Harwell briefly and got his autograph (didn't really get to speak with him though, it was so packed) 5. I was given the chance to jobshadow Pistons announcer George Blaha in May of 2005 for a speech class (got on the radio too)

For fans of Whose Line is it Anyway, this one is a must see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1Qw9Mr6n3M One of the best and funniest moments in the show IMO.

I didn't mean that, I meant win a world title as they did, having been through one now.

QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) What the Tigers did was the biggest choke job of all time. I actually kinda disagree. We were sort of like the 04 Cardinals in a way. We hadn't been there in years, just like they hadn't, we had a lot of young talent as they had, and we just got sort of distracted I guess. We'll be back there again I'm sure. Who knows maybe we'll do what the Cardinals of this year did soon.

To add a few things to the list: 1. The quiz show scandals of the 1950's. 2. Bob Barker makes his debut on television hosting Truth or Consequences in 1954. 3. The New Price is Right debuts on September 4, 1972. 4. The USFL, XFL, ABA, and WUSA (women's soccer league) formed and folded 5. The WNBA and the MLS was formed. 6. Bill Buckner's infamous ground ball. 7. The Red Sox won the world series twice.

Official Game Thread 8/7 - Angels vs Sox 6:05

In a way yes, but if you lose, you'll find yourself 10 games back (assuming we hold on) -
If that's the case honestly I say yes. I mean till this year, they hadn't been in the playoffs since 87, and finished below .500 every year since 93. So if we get in the playoffs, and fall short of anything else, that's ok. At least we actually got there for once.

Tigers pull ahead on a 2 run shot by Monroe in the 8th. 7-6. He had just missed one the pitch before too, hooking it foul.
-
QUOTE(El Barto @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) Tigs actually lose tonight. I'm surprised that he Rays' pen could hold the lead. They didn't hold it by much though, Monroe just missed a go ahead Homer by mere inches.
-
Not so fast. Tigers aren't done. They've gotten 3 straight hits to start the 9th, 2 of them being homers to make it 7-3. Make that 1 out. Over with now 7-3.
-
Tigers got a 6-0 lead in the 4th. Man on 1st and 1 out, still batting.
-
Just read a very interesting stat. With our 5 run 1st tonight against the Tribe, the Tigers became the first team since 1891 to score 5 or more runs in the 1st inning in 3 consecutive games. The Cleveland Browns of that year had been the last to do it.
-
Not nomore. 9-7 Tigers in the bottom of the 8th.

QUOTE(chisox72 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) I am sorry. This is NOT a get out of jail free card. Yes, he led us to it. Yes, we are all appreciative of what he did for the team to get them there... That being said, it does not give him the right to elevate his level of jack-ass-ness in terms of his managing. NO PLAYER should EVER have to go through what Tracey went through and what we saw him do to Garland today IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA and IN PUBLIC. If he wants to let them have it in the clubhouse one on one, fine. But this egomania has got to stop, because its wearing thin. I don't care if they make a lot of money and that they should just "follow orders." Put yourself in their shoes. If your boss yelled and made a fool out of you in front of the whole company and a bunch of people who happen to be standing around watching, how would you feel? His antics anymore are beyond unprofessional and it needs to stop. This whole schtick is getting very very old. What happened?

Tigers have blown it open in the last two innings. They scored 3 in the 4th highlighted by Dmitri getting a bases loaded single to break a 1-1 tie. Now in the 5th, we've gotten an rbi single, and a 2 run double to go up 6-1. Still threatening also, with a man on 3rd and 1 away.

2-1 Tigers bottom 8th. -
I concur with that. Keep in mind this is a young pen too, they will have their ups and downs this year.
-
Guillen hits a walkoff shot to win it 10-9.
-
Brand new game now. Zumaya gives up a bases clearing double. 9-9 bottom 8th.
