QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 02:36 PM) So the police activity outside of his home in Bath township Ohio, wouldn't that mean he's staying in Miami ? It could. It might not. I hope his wife and kids are with him in Vegas and not in Bath if he says he's staying with the Heat.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 02:32 PM) No announcement at 330est Chris Sheridan who said the announcement would be on the website last night actually thinks everyone else is being fed misinformation even though much of the information he has supposedly been given hasn't come true. I wonder what the percentage of NBA rumors and stories from sources is actually true. It can't be more than 5% and probably lower than that.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) If they're expecting problems, he must be going to Cleveland! omgawd He is in Ohio. If he is announcing he is staying in Miami while in the Cleveland area, as much as I don't understand the hate, I will totally understand the hate. If he is taking Cavs fans for a ride, that would be classless.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 01:49 PM) I can't see the author A former White Sox beat writer who wanted to be adopted into the Guillen family.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 01:07 PM) Our team is full of articulate players. Yeah, I don't understand anyone being upset with DRose for having someone take the SATs for him. Would you want what that score would be?
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 01:05 PM) He was told he'd be a starter this year. Gasol would have to be handled gently. Taj would still get starters minutes. I don't think he cares if he starts the game on the bench, as long as he doesn't have to sit on it a long time.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 01:03 PM) First he was staying in NYC/going to LA because La La and her acting career. Now his family is pushing him to Chicago. Roger. Whatever happens, he will be able to say "I told you so"

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 12:55 PM) PHIL TREXLER-ABJ @PhilTrexler 3m Folks in Bath feel strongly that LBJ will sign w/ CLE. LBJ's camp contacted cops hour ago to alert them of tonight's annoucement. #kingjames So sounds like we'll be hearing tonight at least. I don't know if there is any validity to this guys tweet, but if LeBron was announcing he was staying in Miami, I would think hanging out not far from Cleveland would be about the last place he would want to be tonight.

Does being close to signing Mirotic signal Melo to the Bulls isn't happening, or can it still get done if Phil does the sign and trade?

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 10:12 AM) Why? Willingham is pretty bad at baseball. If they got him as a platoon DH on a cheap deal, ok, but he is atrocious in the field. I have always liked the use of bad at baseball in a post.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 12:27 PM) I don't see why Gasol would come here to be a backup center and mentor when he can be a key piece on contending teams. I don't see a late lineup of Noah/Gasol/Taj so one of those has to give. Probably Gasol. They told him he would be a starter. This would be a really good team. DRose is going to be fine physically with his last 2 injuries IMO. The only question in my mind is will he be able to stay healthy or is he Ken Griffey Jr., and something new pops up freakishly every season? McBuckets is a lottery pick, every expert you read says Mirotic would have been a lottery pick. Substitute Gasol for Boozer, and just right there they are Conference Finals-worthy. Plus they probably add another piece or small pieces. They may not win a title, and will probably be considered bridesmaids to whichever team LeBron winds up with, but they certainly will be the most entertaining Bulls team, if they stay healthy, since MJ was around. That said, the jury is still out on Gar/Pax in my mind. Bringing in Pau buys them time if it were my team. But if they can't bring in the big names, they are like the GM version of Bill Carmody. Probably really good at everything else, but if you can't recruit, you're screwed.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 12:21 PM) .@CSNBullsInsider says a deal with Mirotic is "almost done." http://www.csnchicago.com/bulls/bulls-nba-...s-start-falling … If something happens with Mirotic it could put some writing on the wall as it really pushes the, this has to be a S&T for this to happen. However, I'm not surprised Bulls negotiating as most scenarios would have him coming here this year (or being used as an asset to play elsewhere). The true indicator (outside of an official word from any camp) is if Bulls start making offers to guys like Lance. I would like to go on record as being the one breaking the Mirotic to the US story this year.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 12:10 PM) Ohhhh. You said Rose's girl. I took that as his kid That's what I thought. But if LaLa bought a gift for a woman who dumped DRose for cheating on her with a stripper.......is that good or bad for Bulls fans? Does the picture show the gift? I hope it isn't something to injure DRose again.
-
QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 11:54 AM) Didn't D Rose split up with his baby momma? Yes. He fell in love with a stripper with more tats than Li'l Wayne. I supposed she still could have bought his daughter a gift, but it seems made up.

How could SAS say that? His co-worker, Marc Stein said the Bulls are out and have always been out.

The 2005 White Sox scored almost the exact same percentage of their runs from home runs as previous teams. You need power in USCF. It plays as an average park to even slightly pitcher friendly except for home runs.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:59 PM) Plenty of coaches have been fired the year after they received an extension. Not when said extension doesn't begin until next year.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:54 PM) The odds of that are directly related to Robin continuing to be our manager. He just got an extention. Break out the jack.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:53 PM) Well then none of us knows jack s*** and our opinions mean nothing. May as well shut down the site. Never said that, but if you read gamethreads, there are very few games the Sox should lose, even with all the players on the roster who need to go away.130 wins is conservative. There apparently are some of the greatest baseball minds of all time on this board.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:51 PM) I don't drink during the week. Maybe you should start.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:50 PM) No, winning about 5 more games and feeling good about themselves and learning to win in general. I have no illusions about them winning anything important this year. It's a development year. These choke jobs are doing nothing to further those objectives. I am sure the players are as smart as you and know they didn't choke. Dumb Robin just struck as usual. This is a 130 win team with a message board poster making decisions.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:48 PM) I could care less what you do, Dick. I was sitting on my couch enjoying my evening. Then Captain Dumbs*** ruined my goddamn evening. I don't post for your benefit, trust me. I never said you did, but apparently you can't handle your pops.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:44 PM) Yeah, I get it. Someone has to get outs. I've conceded that. But no need to bring anyone in there. There is no escaping that. I would have at least not chuckled at everyone of your ridiculous posts in this thread had you commented BEFORE the bullpen started imploding.

Prior to tonight, Petricka hadn't given up a run his last 8 outings, and Guerra had not given up a run his last 12 appearances.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:29 PM) It's 78 degrees 86 and humid at the start. Stone said on the postgame it was hot and humid. He was there. I think it is a good source.
