  1. Darius Paul arrested in Champaign. Apparently underage drinking and running from cops which eventually led to cops tackling him. Hey, someone in Champaign can tackle. Seems pretty minor. Maybe a suspension of a game or so vs. some really weak team.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) I absolutely thought he looked a bit thinner when I saw him at bat yesterday. I'm sure he fluctuates though He is still a large man, but I agree he is much trimmer this year. 4 or 5 years ago, I'd have thought he be all Tony Gwynn'd by now.
  3. QUOTE (ndaholic @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 09:27 AM) Where do I look to get them on sale? Are the deals on the White Sox page considered a sale or best pricing? http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/ticketing/sox_save.jsp Shows the discount and everything.
  4. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 09:04 PM) Trea Turner with 2 HRs tonight. Making that late push to be pick number 3! I read where Turner may be the only SS drafted in the top 250. If you get a good SS, you better keep him.
  5. The Sox seem to get a lot of games on the U. Maybe because not a lot of people watch.
  6. 2012 he was skipped because of soreness after an 88 pitch performance. Went to the bullpen one game, then back in the rotation. 2013 he was skipped after a 113 pitch performance. Was either skipped once or backed off a day and went the rest of the season. This year is the first being Dl'd. However, considering he went down after 88 pitches one year and 113 last, I don't know how you can say it was the pitch count that did him in. As far as I know, most of the people complaining about it have zero medical training, and get their "knowledge" from others with the exact same credentials.
  7. QUOTE (ndaholic @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 07:56 AM) So I will be going to my first Sox game next month and would really appreciate advice on seats, bars, food, etc... It's just me and a friend and we are thinking about getting the $42 patio passes for the two hours of food and beer. Is this worth it? Or should we just hang out at the Bullpen sports bar or the Chisox bar and grill? We don't need expensive seats, just going to have fun, experience the environment and drink beer. Also, where do you guys suggest we go after the game for food and a good variety of beer? Thanks in advance. If you want a patio party, go to whitesox.com, then tickets, then Sox save of the week. They have some patio party discounts there that will make it more than worth it if you are halfway hungry and are ready to drink. You get a patio party and a lower deck ticket for $40-50. A little more for the Yankees.
  8. So true But this pitch count thing, we’re in the American League," Cooper said. "We’re not in Little League. But nevertheless, people that bring up pitch counts are people who have nothing else to really know. And it just blows me away. They’re doing that to say, ‘God forbid if someone goes down, I told you so.’ And these are people that are not in the arena and never really played, so what kind of validity does any of that hold?
  9. Early on, this looked like a game that was going to get out of hand and not in a good way. It would be a really nice win.
  10. QUOTE (scs787 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 08:58 PM) Refresh my memory, how did Lindstrom get a blow save in Boston? His line reads 2 innings, 1 hit, no runs, no walks. An inherited runner scored that Cleto walked.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 08:52 PM) Is this the night Matt L gets first save as a White Sox? I thought he has one,
  12. Belisario is weird looking.
  13. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 08:47 PM) Whatever, I hate set 'pens anyway If you had more consistent pitchers, having a 7th inning guy or an 8th inning guy in addition to a closer and some specialists isn't a bad plan. They can mentally prepare for that during the game. But with the bullpen being what it has been, you really have to play it game to game.
  14. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 08:44 PM) Walker had developed such bad habits in some of our players that it took a few years to reverse them. We are now finally seeing the Walker effect negated on players like Tank, Dunn, and Lexi. Wow.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 07:28 PM) He should have known. They made it clear from day one that he wasn't destined for Chicago yet. I agree and the fact that he started pretty hot kind of ruins the feel sorry for himself excuse. And if he does feel sorry for himself, too bad. Striking out every other trip to the plate is only going to keep in playing minor league ball.
  16. They will say he is out, but he was safe.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 07:33 PM) Get a Canadian passport and stay in Windsor. Unless your are a Canadian citizen or a terrorist with some connections, getting a Canadian passport is going to be pretty tough.
  18. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 07:25 PM) Was hawk insinuating that MLB is screwing the Sox on purpose? I don't think it was screwing the Sox. It was more not making your buddy look bad with a reversal. These guys are union brothers. If a couple of these guys keep getting calls reversed, that could be grounds for dismissal down the road. I am just guessing, but maybe he thinks guys higher up in the union may be reluctant to switch a call.
  19. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 07:24 PM) I wonder what the cryptic comment, "I wonder who's back in New York?" meant. Stone responded, "I have no idea." I am not sure, but I think they have a regular crew or two that sit and watch games as replay umps. For instance, thiscrew might have a replay assignment after this series.
  20. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 07:22 PM) Hard to blame them when you have a split here despite the several replays. I think the roll in the glove was enough to call him safe. It is probably another call that wouldn't have been changed no matter what was called.
  21. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 07:19 PM) Anyone have an idea what Hawk is insinuating about why the Sox have been losing replay challenges? If certain umpires have had calls overturned, they sort of protect them and don't make them look bad multiple times.
  22. Replay was a good idea, but it really sucks.
  23. Danks should be on2nd.
  24. I just heard if he doesn't pitch tomorrow, he may go Wednesday.
  25. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 05:10 PM) Wait, not sure who I'm supposed to blame. Can we go over choices again? A. VENTURA B. WALKER C. BOTH
