  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) 4.50 if he's in the rotation Which is better than Buerhle, Vazquez and Garcia. I'd love it if KW dumped all 3.
  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 10:24 PM) That's because no one has seen him strikeout yet. The worst thing possible for this organization would be not to find him another AB this season. He'll be immortalized. And yes -- McCarthy is in the rotation next season. Can't you see he abandons his changeup out of the bullpen? It's the pitch which defined his turnaround in September last year. Ryan Sweeney was put in the HOF on this board after he hit a broken bat bloop single into LF. I still think Sweeney is going to be better than Fields and will have more career homers.
  3. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) Ah, yes, putting it in the hands of our outstanding bullpen after 6 innings each game... That's what happens when KW ignores the fact that Politte was so much better last year than anyone could have expected and was most likely going to return to be meat again, and ignored the fact that Hermanson was talking retirement at the end of next year. I don't think he will make that mistake again, although what must be going through KW's mind as he watched Thomas and Ordonez circle the bases with multiple home run trots essentially ruining any chance at a repeat. Not that I think either should be here, its just another irony that they are the ones providing the daggers.
  4. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) I've been a Buehrle backer for years. I'll always love him. However, he's failed us miserably in the second half. I've loved Buerhle. He probably had been the most consistent pitcher in the majors the past 4 or 5 years. Something is terribly wrong. I say get something for him why you still can.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) I think he's hurt, as he doesn't follow-thru well enough to keep his pitches down. Something that really kills these guys is that Ozzie never, ever takes them out proactively. I will give Ozzie a little credit tonight. Haeger was up in the first when Guillen softly lined into the triple play. Of course if he would have put Haeger in after Guillen had homered, the cat would have already been out of the bag, and since the offense decided to take tonight off, the game was over anyway.
  6. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) Garcia? That would be sweet. Take Batting Practice Buerhle with him. Opponents hit the ball very hard against Buerhle these days. He's either hurt or washed up.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) I can't believe you left the game so early. We can still come back. We have the best 3-4-5 hitters in the game. I'm not a real fan.
  8. Kenny Rogers sure looked good for a guy who supposedly can't pitch in the second half of a season. Someone forgot to inform White Sox hitters of this.
  9. The Sox quit, so I did as well. They are pathetic. Its time to shut Buerhle down. I've never seen a team any flatter during a string of must win games. They have died. Ironically they were passing out 2007 schedules tonight. They probably passed them around the clubhouse first.
  10. Dick Allen replied to mumu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You have to make your own breaks. This team just looked at the talent assembled and assumed they would go on a roll. They didn't push it, and it cost them dearly. It would take a miracle to make the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if they layed over and died against the Tigers.
  11. ''This team is one of the biggest underachievers I've seen,'' Harrelson said. ''They don't have what we had last year -- that killer instinct.'' Biggest underachievers. Wasn't the problem with Jerry Manuel that the team underachieved? If Hawk says this knowing damn well it will be news, its beyond true. If Ozzie can't motivate the players to play, he's certainly not going to wow anyone with his line-ups, handling of the pitching staff, or any other strategic decisions. If Ozzie can't motivate he is the managerial equivalent of Pods who doesn't steal. Totally worthless. Its a shame he has cemented himself to this job until he says something so stupid they have no choice to get rid of him.
  12. And this game and season are OVA.
  13. If Frank didn't win the MVP in 2000, he's not going to win it this year. Hawk and DJ should talk about something else.
  14. They have to get off the Thomas homer. Chavez followed it up with a shot in the gap.
  15. The Sox just look like a defeated team. It would be nice to see some fire.
  16. Will AJ swing so hard he falls down?
  17. Maybe he can pop to short and Cora can send the runner.
  18. My Comcast--------------it gone.
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) Frank has no problems with a majority of the players in the White Sox clubhouse (maybe Konerko, but that's it). I don't even think he has a problem with Ozzie; he realizes Ozzie shoots his mouth off, an that's the way he is. I do think, however, that Frank is most happy about shoving it to KW. Despite what Frank says, I really doubt he's much of a fan of Ozzie.
  20. You should be embarrassed if Kendall throws you out.
  21. Frank Thomas did not get a hit in the 2000 playoffs. He also didn't get a hit in the 2005 playoffs. Just wait until he starts whining about his contract next spring. Good riddance. He's having a year I would never have thought possible, hat's off to him. He is killing the White Sox playoff hopes, I'm sure he's very happy about that.
  22. For as important as a lot seem to think Thomas was to the White Sox, isn't it funny they won the WS when he hit .219 and hardly played?
  23. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) Guys, don't worry about Frank Thomas. It takes four singles to score him, like Ozzie said. I believe Ozzie said 5. Although he scores fairly easily when they throw him meatball after meatball.
  24. I'm no Frank Thomas fan, but congratulations to him for shoving it up Ozzie's and the rest of the White Sox collective ass.
