QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) I don't know about you guys, but one of the things that pisses me off the most about Ozzie is how he thinks lefties can automatically get lefties out, even though both are lefties are probably more effect vs. righties. To me, Ozzie has always been too caught up in the L vs. L and R vs. R match-up. Its a pretty known fact though that guys usually hit better facing a pitcher from their opposite side. My problem with Ozzie is when he takes pitchers who are on a roll out because of that particular match-up. There's really no telling if a guy is going to be bringing his good stuff with him from the bullpen. If someone is pitching well, l would usually leave him in.

QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:14 PM) Is Ozzie going to leave Thornton in or put Bobby in, in the bottom of the 9th? It definitely appears like Jenks could use a couple of days off.

Soxfest prices doubled this year
Try priceline in January. You will be able to get the Palmer House for under $70 and if you are willing to stay at the Hyatt, it will be under $50 a night.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:05 PM) I just cant believe it. Can anyone give me a reason, seriously, jokes aside, why Hermanson is in the game in the 8th inning of a 3-3 tie? Because the White Sox won the WS last year, and were managed by Ozzie. Whatever he thinks happpens to be the right decision.

Gamethread: 9/12, Sox v. Angels
This really is pathetic. If Hermanson is good enough to pitch in this situation, he shouldn't have spent most of his summer in Charlotte.

Maybe Ozzie got a hold of Bill and Ted's time machine.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) Ugh...great play. Why do our runners seem so damn slow? Iguchi was watching that ball, and he didn't turn it on until the last 20 feet. I still go back to the article I read 2 years ago which a scout stated they couldn't get good times on the White Sox to first base because most didn't bust their ass down the line. I thought Ozzie stated you play the right way or not at all.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) Cotts and Hermanson warming up? What happened to Thornton and MacDougal? There is no difference between a white flag trade, and inserting those two.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:45 PM) Cherry picking 101 is now in session what if Garland had been just average in the second half Whatever. I'll just get all my White Sox wisdom from you. Sorry I have an opinion.

Gamethread: 9/12, Sox v. Angels
I really think it would be an upset if this team advanced very far in the playoffs if they even make it. They really haven't had the magic that seems to infultrate every championship team, and I don't think that even if they got some sort of momentum for the last 2 weeks, that would carry them to another title.

Hopefully asking the offense to score again isn't asking too much, kind of like asking Pods to hustle into 3rd on a SB attempt.

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) Oh yeah, with that meatball that barely floated into shallow left center. What a son of a b****. Regardless, Buerhle has been brutal the second half. Just average, and the Sox might be leading the Central.

Are the Sox playing the infield in? They get burned so much by that. I prefer half way.

Gamethread: 9/12, Sox v. Angels
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) Mark cruising... When Buerhle doesn't throw 25 pitches in an inning, or more than 3 or 4 to one hitter, he is very good. When they pile up, he really gets burned.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) Don't think I liked running there. Not with Dye at the plate. He was safe if he would have given 100% for 90 feet. He sucks, and there is no defense for lack of effort.

I don't understand why pitchers would ever bother throwing most White Sox hitters strikes.

Hawk said it was a good call when Thome took ball 3. If Contreras was on the mound, he would have said it was right there.

White Sox v. Angels, 9/11, Gamethread
Ever notice Cooper rarely comes out to talk to Contreras? Its always Ozzie. Maybe its a language thing, although I heard Ozzie's Spanish isn't much better than his English.

For the love of God Hawk, don't blame the triple on the first pitch call.
