  1. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) Don't think I liked running there. Not with Dye at the plate. He was safe if he would have given 100% for 90 feet. He sucks, and there is no defense for lack of effort.
  2. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) Bench his ass. WTF was that??? He stopped??? He's a bum. There really is no other explanation. BTW happy birthday to one of the greatest drummers of all time, Mr. Neil Peart.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) And Jenks has shaved his head and eye brows. That has to be a good look.
  4. I don't understand why pitchers would ever bother throwing most White Sox hitters strikes.
  5. Hawk said it was a good call when Thome took ball 3. If Contreras was on the mound, he would have said it was right there.
  6. Ever notice Cooper rarely comes out to talk to Contreras? Its always Ozzie. Maybe its a language thing, although I heard Ozzie's Spanish isn't much better than his English.
  7. For the love of God Hawk, don't blame the triple on the first pitch call.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) or Eric Davis Jr. I read some scouting report that said Young's downside was a Mike Cameron-type career. If he turns out to be an Eric Davis-type who remains healthy, he'd be pretty good. I think Davis had HOF ability.
  9. Konerko said Thome was a big reason he re-signed with the White Sox. Those clamouring for Frank Thomas, ignore the Thome/Thomas numbers and try to imagine the Sox without Konerko. Of course they probably would have brought another guy in, but most likely a big downgrade.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) So yah, we better win tonight. As a Skins fan and Sox fan, the football game and the Twins game have crushed this night. Cmon Jose! Washington lost?
  11. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) I'd just like to point out my own observation: I know a few of you have been down on Thome of late for his lack of homers/"clutch hitting" but, IMO, he's been VERY key for us in terms of getting important walks. I can recall a couple times he's taken a walk in a close game with a man on first, putting that player in scoring position for a single after, and it's paid off a ton. His OBP is outstanding. He has had trouble against lefties, but he should at least still be batting 3rd against righties. Get Dye some more ABs with baserunners.
  12. That was a huge run. Now for a few more.
  13. These runs are big. The Sox rarely win 1-0,2-0, or 2-1 games. I believe only 5 all season.
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) Sure why not? I'm feeling particularly pessimistic tonight. Be careful, you'll scare off the good posters.
  15. The apocolypse is near. Paulie singles to right, and Thome takes third on Vlad.
  16. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) So how is everybody gonna feel about not making the playoffs this year? What are you talking about? The Sox have the best players and the best manager. There is no way they won't make the playoffs.
  17. Dye bashing his knee Saturday has him very tentative around walls. He may have caught Sizemore's foul ball yesterday had he not hurt himself the night before. Sizemore then wouldn't have tripled.
  18. How can Hawk call the Count a 34 year old right hander without cracking up?
  19. That was lucky, but the Sox can't shake their heads and feel sorry for themselves.
  20. Where are all the guys who said the White Sox offense would take off with Dye batting 3rd?
  21. Someone will take a chance with Pods next season, but if he doesn't get back to stealing bases often, and not getting caught often, he's probably toast after 2007.
  22. I'd take Figgins in a heartbeat. I think he'll have a good year in 2007.
  23. It seems like the Sox go for real long stretches without baserunner an awful lot lately. Maybe the toll of having to provide so much offense this season has worn on them.
