Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) It not so bad that Pods plays close to Peoria in the outfield it's more of the fact that his defense smells like Peoria More like Gary. With the southerly winds last night, Bridgeport reeked of Gary.

Iguchi is the tying run. We have seen this before. Papplebon in. It will be tough.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Well, that could have been a lot worse, I suppose. AJ, Crede, Mack and Cintron to lead off next inning. Some of our best hitters late in the game. Sub Pablo in for Scotty and that's five guys I wouldn't mind coming up. The problem is Papplebon has allowed a whopping 2 runs in 42 2/3 innings this year. Chances the White Sox pull this out----------------remote.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) These are two clearly different teams. Last year was the kind that wins with pitching and defense. This year, we win with offense. We've seen how well that works from 2001-2004. You are a very wise milkman.

Why is everyone concerned about the pitching? Coop can fix 'em.

I'm glad the Sox drafted Broadway and passed on Hansen. You can never have enough soft-tossers in the organization.

It would be nice to play a decent team and have 5 runs scored enough to win.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) Why would Gar of all people go to the pen. He's been our 2nd best pitcher lately, which just feels awkward to say. If Garland is going to make a relief appearance, its because of the All Star break. Nothing permanent.

Cotts with a big pitch. Even though Riske gave up a run, I'm glad Ozzie lifted Garcia. He most likely would have given up "a big crooked number."

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) Is this why Riske got zero holds last year? Is this normal for him? Yes. He has a reputation for being a little tight in close games.

With the way its gone with the defense, Pods lollypoping the ball home on a play where he had no chance, thus allowing a runner into second, most likely will cost the White Sox another run.
-
Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
Riske needs to limit this to 1 run

It is shocking Ozzie lifts FG in a tie game in the 6th. I like it.

If someone showed you what the White Sox offensive numbers would be at the All Star break back before the season started, what kind of odds would you have given that the Tigers wouldn't have a 2 game lead over them?

Red Sox @ White Sox - July 8
The ball is really jumping to CF today. Very unusual at USCF.

Freddy at 95 pitches. Hopefully Ozzie won't leave him in until he gives up 8 runs, because his ERA is at 4.91. The Sox may actually have 60% of the greatest rotation ever with ERAs over 5.00 at the All Star break.

At least Dye has 2 more ABs this game.

When is the last time a White Sox has hit 3 homers in a game?

Cintron is not going to be able to hit high gas.

Nomar is having an awesome year. I heard he's actually been very good defensively at 1B.
