  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Ivan Rodriguez and Dmitri Young have stolen bases on Freddy today. Hey Fred, why don't you check the runner every now & then? Young was out by a mile, Crede didn't make the tag.
  2. QUOTE(Allsox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Forget giving Singleton a chance cuz he plains sucks. Thanks to his awful call, I had no idea Crede hit the ball, let alone a line drive, let alone it had a chance to go, let alone it did go out. You missed Hawk's call. We got Hawk's homerun call on a foul ball hit be Cintron.
  3. QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:33 PM) JOE CREDE!!!!!!!! Ball must be juiced. :finger How come Hawk only mentions the ball is juice when the other team homers?
  4. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:51 PM) Aside from Thome, our offense has been pretty awful this year. When your leadoff hitter has not scored a run, the offense tends to look bad.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:44 PM) He had at least 2-3 monsters that were >425 just last year when he was back in June. Don't know about 4, but as many as he got for us, I'm sure he hit a few bombs in a row. 440 feet for Thome. 431 ft was the longest homer at USCF last year. Thome hit one 431 opening night, and 448 game 2. If this one was 440, the one yesterday was probably that as well. Its incredible. Thome was strong to begin with, but with his elbow surgery and back problems, he worked out pretty fiercly, and is probably stronger than he's ever been.
  6. The speed gun is working again on Comcast, and it reads 93
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:40 PM) Frank Thomas. But only Frank Thomas. Frank would be the only one I could think of, but I don't think he ever had 4 go over 420 ft. in a row.
  8. Has any White Sox player ever but 4 homers together of that length in a row?
  9. Freddy's quest to get his ERA under 10.00 just took a big blow.
  10. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:31 PM) i havent seen anyone doing the pitch speed this year They had it working in KC
  11. QUOTE(gsoxs1 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) How's Freddys Velocity looking today? Is he in the 90s? Comcast mysteriously is not showing pitch speed, but supposedly he is in the upper 80s to low 90s
  12. Dye not getting Paulie over cost the Sox a run. Of course getting Paulie over probably isn't the easiest thing to do.
  13. Maybe Crede can get another broken bat double. That was sweet yesterday.
  14. Dye does not get the job done.
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) Gold glover Joe Crede! He has certainly save the Sox some runs the last 2 days.
  16. Pods with as many errors as hits.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) Granderson pops out to Crede. It also seems that Gene Lamont is the Tigers' third base coach. So that's what happened to him. Lamont was not a bad manager. Replacing him with Bevington was foolish.
  18. DJ mentioned today that Pods didn't look 100% running. At least he's starting to hit the ball on the ground instead of the lazy flyballs he was hitting earlier. I've never been a big fan of his, but he does have one of the biggest home runs in White Sox history, so I can't hate him as a player. As the guy at Rotoworld said, if Pods legs aren't 100% he is a below average player. He's 1-22, I'm sure the plan is to let him try and work it out by playing. If this goes on another 4 or 5 games, the plan may be to work it out with extra BP and cage work, while riding pine during games. You can't have automatic outs at the top of the order.
  19. QUOTE(allupons @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Bobby Jenks getting hit hard was at no fault of his own today. Seeing him hit 100 mph makes me feel a LOT better about him. The velocity was nice to see.
  20. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) starting lineups out yet? We are due for an Alex Cintron sighting pretty soon.
  21. The Tigers obviously aren't going to hit .327 all year, but their line-up is pretty impressive, especially if Ordonez and Rodriquez get back to at least close to normal levels. They both have added back a lot of the weight they lost last year. Their pitching potentially can be decent, and with Leyland around, I think their attitude will be better. They definitely won't be the pushovers they have been in the past, when the Sox struggled with them, although the Sox played them well laster year IIRC.
  22. Politte and Cotts already have more combined losses than they did last season.
  23. Going into last season, KW made the bullpen a point of emphasis. With an increased budget, he pretty much ignored it this offseason other than to sign a gazillion minor league free agents, who showed why they had that status in spring training. Its hard to draw any conclusions after 5 games, but it obviously has started out worse than even the most pessimistic would have imagined.
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) It's this simple...our relief core was our biggest concern all Spring Training, and they're 0-2 so far this year in close games. 2 blown eighth inning leads. Plus Garland blows a 6 run lead, albeit because Ozuna apparently needs more experience in the outfield to catch a flyball. This is all in 5 games. If that doesn't tell you it isn't 2005 anymore, nothing will.
