Often leaving pitchers who have nothing in a game just so they can get a win, means a loss for the team.

Garland was getting pummelled at the end of spring training. They have to get him out of the game.

When Garland's not getting grounders, it tends to be a struggle.

Garland seems to be back to his pre-2005 form.

Thome already has as many road homers this season as Frank Thomas had in 3 of the past 4 seasons.

FWIW, Shingo was 8 for 9 in save opportunities for the White Sox last season. Most people here wanted to put him on a spit.

His other outing he pitched 1/3 of an inning, and was having a tough time locating. Of his 4 appearances, I would say he was great in 1, poor in 2, and incomplete in the other. Hopefully he can keep his curveball down, and if he regains velocity, his fastball up. When he got hurt last season it was on low fastballs.

I'm kind of surprised. I think he could have got a lot more cash had he become a free agent after this season. Actually its worth a little more, because the contract takes effect this season and his $9.2 million for this season gets ripped up. A complete no trade clause.
