  1. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) How the hell is Angel Hernandez still an ump at the major league level? This guy has always sucked with that outside corner. Isn't he the guy that McMichael was all over at the Urinal?
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:37 PM) Do we knock Eddie around pretty good, or am I thinking of another closer? Eddie's had som success against the Sox in his career, but he's also been pummelled more than once. The Sox have to crush a pitcher named Putz.
  3. Thank God for Safeco. Politte is meat.
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) I can't believe Anderson is hitting here. I'm a baseball genius
  5. I can't believe Anderson is hitting here.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) I'm going to be pissed if Mackowiak and Anderson hit in the 9th. There's no way Mackowiak is hitting if Guardado is in. There shouldn't be anyway Anderson hits unless the leadoff man homers even if I was pitching.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) Why not have Pods run for AJP, and try to get into scoring position? Because he'll get thrown out again
  8. Its not often AJ gets to 3 and 2
  9. Good job by Pablo hitting the cutoff man
  10. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:53 PM) Naw, hes at 109 now. No way Grandpa is going out for the 8th. I don't think so either, but its not like he's really stressing himself topping out at about 80.
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:53 PM) This is a game like last year. Let's see if all of the pitching is up to the task. If its not, are you just going to laugh?
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) The testing in 2004 was quite poor, if I remember correctly. I thought it was after the 2004 season where the testing became "legit". I read some article that basically said you had to be the world's biggest idiot to test positive prior to last season.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:45 PM) God, how the Hell did Beltre go from 48 home runs in a season to not even hitting the Mendoza line? Just a guess, but I'm thinking illegal substances.
  14. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:44 PM) 4 pitches, walk. Atleast Carl is a baseclogger. Prime candidate for a DP. Carl is looking pretty heavy
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) Thrown 99 pitches and Moyer is done? (We hope) Anderson is next. That's 3 pitches max., I think he'll go 1 more.
  16. If you want an email read just ask about the history of the batting glove. The answer might run 3 innings long.
  17. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) Off-topic, but has anyone ever had an e-mail read by Hawk and DJ? I send them one every so often, and I've never gotten a response, or heard it read on the air. I had one a couple years ago. I signed it Abe Froeman, Sausage King. It was the only one I sent.
  18. How long do you think they will let Anderson struggle before replacing him? I still think he can be decent, a lot of really good hitters started out awful. On the other hand, a lot of awful hitters started out awful.
  19. Beltre looks like a waste of money
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) At least we found a pitcher he can pull the ball against. Which is probably the wrong approach for him to take against Moyer.
  21. Moyer is the type of pitcher I would expect Anderson to have no success with.
  22. Widger mentioned last week that Garland was having shoulder issues, but seemed to be feeling better before his last start.
  23. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) Lots of guys in there that havent faced Moyer-who can be confusing with that junk he throws-I dont like this wholesale nite off Hopefully Moyer will act his age, and get lit up.
  24. Its just a matter of time before the bullpen will get a lot of work. They all made a ton of appearances last year. This year should be no different. Cotts isn't locating, but I think he'll be decent. I've been concerned with Politte since before spring training. The last time he made as many appearances as he did last year, the next season his ERA was around 6.00. Jenks seems to be coming around, although his fastball still seems to be AWOL from time to time. Logan goes from being thrown in to pitch to Hafner in a crucial situation, to not pitching in 10 days, and Thornton's lack of control during his career isn't going to be helped by not getting in a game. Eventually though, all will see some action, and I for one wouldn't mind Gload being replaced by a pitcher if they don't have a right handed hitting OF available. Ross may be a nice guy and a decent player, but his is a totally wasted roster spot right now.
  25. The Sox problem is they really don't have much of a choice as far as leading off goes. Ozuna could, but do you really want him in the OF? Of course the way Pods has hit, and thrown the leather, and if it were to continue, Widger would be a better choice as a lead-off man. I am pretty biased, though. I have really never been a Pod's fan except for Oct. 23rd, 2005.
