  1. This is what I don't understand about JM. Marte just blows away Spezio batting righhanded, yet he still goes to Gordon. Somebody should handcuff him to the bench.
  2. Back in I believe 1999, when the Sox were looking for yet another cheap catcher, they traded for Fordyce. Sweeney was a catcher back then, Schueler decided not to trade for him. He was offered to the Sox for a song.
  3. Grady Hall, Hawk's #1 draft pick out of Northwestern, would look real good as a #5 starter.
  4. Schoenweis has had 2 bad outings, after his first one people were all over him.Like I said before I thought the F-Cotts thread was out of line, and I don't agree with it, but there are a lot of posts on this board that I think are out of line, there are posters on here who call people names all the time. Yet no stink is put up about them.
  5. I believe the topic was overboard and better judgement should have been used. But not because he posts here. Your right, if it were me I probably would not post here again. My point is that there is a f*** Koch, f*** Manuel, f*** Reinsdorf, f*** KW. If someone wants a f*** Cotts, although I don't agree, it shouldn't be changed just because he posts here.
  6. I almost forgot about that. Neal is now a member of these messageboards. I find that post disrespectful on a personal level as well. Thanks for pointing that out. CWSOX45 Yeah, you are right. It's the same as put a thread like this: f*** Rafacosta. f*** Rafacosta :dips*** I'm serious on this, if a guy put a thread like that i wouldnt be happy. I am just trying to lighten it up in here, but I do agree with you. The amount of sheer ignorance that was exhibited last night was astounding. Granted it was a chosen few idiots, but I will be SERIOUSLY pissed off if guys like Jim Bullard and Neal Cotts don't post here again because of those jackasses. What if Billy Koch or Danny Wright posted on this board? Should they be free from criticism? A lot of players have been criticized. I agree the thread topic is too much, and it was his Major League debut, so he should get a break. People did go way overboard with name calling, but if they choose to go overboard, it should be their choice. Hopefully, Cotts and Bullard will understand the passion people have here for the Sox,not take the name calling personally, and continue to post here. I'm sure Neal isn't too happy about his performance last night.
  7. Glavine struggled his entire first year. Unfortunately the Sox brutal play in the first half leaves no room for any "growing pains" for Cotts. You can't make a conclusion on a guys entire career after just one start, that would be assanine. It would also be assanine to throw him out there again if they really need a win. His next start would be against Texas, a pretty good offensive team, that will make him throw strikes. I think they should put him in the bullpen and try to get his feet wet there. They told him Sunday he was coming up, maybe he had too much time to think about his debut.
  8. Thats optimistic , the walks of full counts. He walked 6 of the last 10 batters he faced. Put him in when the game is out of hand , and see what he does then, maybe then he could get untracked. He, in no way, should get another start in the big leagues until next spring, until he throws strikes.Wright has been bad this year, and I think his elbow hurts. He was massaging it on the bench yesterday. He is the best option right now for a fifth starter, if he throws strikes he's pretty good. But please, no more throwing guys making their major league debuts on the mound for games you have to win. Lets face it, there was a lot better chance of Cotts struggling last night, than of him twirling a gem. I was pissed at his performance last night, but not at him. He's just not ready. Hopefully someday he will be.
  9. He'll probably wind up having surgery in October or next spring and be out all next year. Addition by subtraction if you ask me.
  10. Did you just see Danny Wright in the dugout? He was sitting there rubbing his elbow. I bet it still bothers him.
  11. One thing about Everett, he's only one bad call away from going off the edge crazy. That would be fun to watch.
  12. Its nice to see the Sox aren't the only team who botch scoring chance after scoring chance.
  13. Agreed. He may be good in time, but that time is not now.
  14. Lets light up Glover like everyone else lights up Schoenweis.
  15. How many of those guys had great ML debuts? The fact remains that you can't buy or sell a player based on 1 start. I'd give him one more chance. If he struggled because of jitters, then the stuff he showed in the 1st and to get out of the 2nd will certainly help the Sox. I think he deserves another chance, whether it's out of the pen or as a starter. If he gets another start and it's the same thing, then send him back down, otherwise he has the stuff to really help us. Granted, it's just stuff. Garland had it and it took him a while to become a good pitcher. All I'm saying is give him another chance in some form. I don't think its jitters. I'm sure he was nervous, as anyone would be, but I think he got over that quickly. He would have had his jitters at the beginning. He got progressively wilder as the game went along.
  16. Yes, personally I'd rather see Wright out there, because he has experience. Also, Harden hasn't seemed to have to much trouble, niether has Jimmy f***ING Gobble of KC, for God's sake. Because he faced Tampa Bay twice? Just maybe? Thank God all of you scumbags don't manage this team or any player, because their confidence would be in the s***ter before they hit the 2nd inning. The Angels are 6-15 their last 21 games. They are not exactly an offensive juggernaut. Cotts walks 7 in 2.1 innings. Quit defending him. Like someone posted earlier, he's not ready, maybe next year, but not now in a division race. There was a question about his control all along, and he's done nothing to smash those concerns. Then why did the Angels light up Colon last night? Answer that. Even the Cubs score runs every now and then. Tampa scored something like 32 runs in a 3 game series with Boston. This guy Gobble is pretty impressive. To say he faced Tampa twice is the reason for his success is a joke. The way Cotts pitched tonight, he wouldn't have been effective against anyone. He has to go back in the minors and learn to throw strikes.

  18. If Garland, who is 23 or 24 walked this many you'd be up in arms. Just because this guy posts here ocassionally gives him no free pass. Which coincidentally is something he gives way too much of. This outing was very predicable.
  19. A great time to be experimenting with AA pitchers who can't throw strikes. This is ridiculous.
  20. very quickly it is 0 and 2.
  21. Mark likes to get it and throw it
  22. Hawks holiday greeting, "Make it a safe, happy, and reflective one"
  23. They play Paulie to hook They play Willie to slice
  24. right man, right spot
  25. get foul..................it will, thank you very much
