  1. He had problems with his back for several years, it wasn't until his career was threatened that he decided to get in shape. At least in shape for him. You've made a big point about Bartolo doing things for other teams he was with and not the Sox. Wells was horrible for the Sox. He was supposedly Mr. complete game, he won 5 games. He didn't live up to his end of the deal. At least he didn't cost the Sox anything but a lot of money. $2 million a win, $625,000 a start.
  2. Wells made 16 starts with the Sox. He was paid $9 million + a $1 million buyout. $10 million for 16 starts and 5 wins. His record was 5-7 his era 4.47. He was 30 pounds heavier than he is now, he is the original tub of goo. To defend him and rip Bartolo is ridiculous. He really led the team. Every argument against Bartolo this guy was guilty of times ten. You are right about one thing, he is a tool.
  3. Frank didn't get the MVP in 2000 when he deserved it. So he probably has no chance to win it this year unless,as was stated above,he hit 50 homers and hit over .300. That would be a long shot. If he did win it, I'd would like to see Bruce Levine hand him the hardware.
  4. Your mom wants Sox tickets for her birthday? She's awesome
  5. I agree. I think the embarassment of being swept by them last time, and the pennant race should be ample motivation.
  6. put Schoenweis out there again. Maybe he can get straightened out.
  7. Its the ultimate low blow, and cheap shot. Its just that you think like one. While everyone here wants every player to do well, reality is not everyone on the Sox is an outstanding major league player.
  8. The Sox usually play well in Yankee Stadium. They took 2 out of 3 last year, and scored a lot of runs. 2000 they killed the Yankees there.
  9. If you liked Clayton, you need rehab. Please go get yourself some help.
  10. you must be a Cub fan.
  11. The Anderson pick up was huge for KC, but if they are still behind the Sox after this roadtrip it may take some wind out of their sails.
  12. I'm not a Konerko fan, but I hope he gets a hit everytime up. Hopefully a homer so he doesn't clog the bases. If he hits .330 the rest of the season and hits 10 homers, I'll tell you I was wrong, but I do believe he sucks.
  13. Brian Cashman has the worst job in the world right now.
  14. 9 against Clemens 10 against Wells. The Yankees rotation is getting a little long in the tooth. The big Stein is probably having a coronary as we speak.
  15. I just tried it to see if I could and it worked fine. Maybe your computer settings are off.
  16. I hope this prediction is more accurate than your first.
  17. You forgot a few, Rowand, Harris, Koch...........................................
  18. Olivo reached on Paulie's f*** up. He would have been out. Tony G. picked up Paulie, it really didn't cost any runs. That was 2 of the worst baserunning decisions we have seen in the last couple of years, and we have seen some bad ones.
  19. Hawk said it looks like Buerhle tomorrow.
  20. It was big of Bart to shut them down in the bottom half. How about a five spot.
  21. I just came on line, I predicted to myself earlier the Sox would score 7 in the 4th inning
  22. I loooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvee watching the Boomer get lit up
  23. Doesn't score from second on a double, and comes home on a tap right to the thirdbaseman, he was out by 60 ft. No harm though, thanks to Tony G.
  24. Konerko sucks
  25. This year the home opener was April 4th. I agree, its a blessing to start the season on the road. Everyone at opening day this year will attest to that. I thought the most ridiculous thing about this years schedule was the one home Yankee series the Sox get, a huge draw , is the last home series of the season, and on a weekday so many kids already in school won't be able to attend. Let alone the Yanks possibly resting their stars for the playoffs.
