Eloy is big, but still a rookie. What they added, and what they lost during the offseason, from an fWAR perspective, was about a push. Nova and Shields, similar. Davidson and Alonso, similar. Jay was better than Avi, but Kevan Smith was better than McCann. Narvaez was better than them all. Maybe Castillo has a good year. And some guys hopefully step up. But you are asking for a lot to go right, especially with Kopech on the sidelines, for there to be even the slightest chance. This was a 100 loss team despite playing almost a quarter of their schedule vs.Det and KC.

The White Sox won 62 games. They haven’t added a player who put up a 1.2 fWAR or higher last year. With or without Manny, they will most likely suck. But at least with him and Eloy, there actually may be a reason to watch after the first couple of weeks.

I think in a couple of hours anyone who buys this in the slightest will re read it and realize exactly how dumb it is. No leaks except him for some reason, and he gets the no leak and immediate puts it on Twitter. Then worried about offers made to signed players. What the fuck is that? Is someone going to also poach Eloy?

So they have signed both but don’t want it getting out because of the old offer after the player signed trick. Makes sense. If there is one agent who may sign prematurely leaving a better offer out there it’s Scott Boras.

They have a decent shot. Maybe even better than 50/50. But it’s getting close to a point where if they get one, the fan base will have a feeling of relief rather than elation.

You're probably correct. But he is risking himself getting injured or some other unforseen circumstance. I don't think the White Sox or Phillies offers are going lower. If Harper signs, one will come off the board, but I don't see how the other one would then dramatically increase. I think the SF, SD, mystery team stuff is all BS. \ The funny thing is, if he truly is holding out for what Heyman suggests, he has definitely limited his market to 2 teams, and one of them will probably sign the other guy, so it will be one team, and neither are dumb enough to bid against themselves, so it might make sense for him to sign where he would rather be.

Of course it's about money. But at this point, they are hoping a team they would rather play for, not the White Sox or Phillies, somehow comes up with the cash.
