Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Run your platoon scenarios with a injury then do it with two or three. Is it unrealistic that they will need to get at least 150 at bats out of my egg basket?

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I'm not necessarily frustrated with the moves that have been made it is the fact that there are easy holes to fill and they are refusing to fill them. There is no DH platoon. Sheets is the DH and Vaughn is the RF. I fear they are putting a lot of eggs in the Rutherford, Mercedes, Colas and Cespedas basket. At this point Mercedes is the RH platoon in the DH role. Grandal getting time at DH puts Collins/Zavala in the lineup. Neither can catch or hit. Any injury to any player on this roster is a killer.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
The issue with me is the catchers cant catch his best pitch. Similar to Hendricks. That was not addressed either this offseason.

Why even engage it's a waste of energy.

3/19 Sox vs Guardians
I hate Garcia in RF. He's going to get 500 ABs this year.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
All anyone had to do was watch the playoffs last year and see what was needed. You platoon Sheets not Conforto.

Is Sheets for Meadows a deal worth pondering?

3/17 Game Thread (1) - Cubs @ Sox, 3 PM, NBCSCH
Engel is going to be the full time RF and Sheets/Vaughn a DH platoon. One injury to any player other than the tragically bad 2B combo and the White Sox are screwed.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
I really want to give them the benefit of the doubt but the more time that passes the realization is setting in that this is the team and all of the offseason decisions were bad. The organizational blind spot for giving bullpen guys a lot of money is a real thing and probably a result of the failed 2007 season.

White Sox linked to Manaea/Montas
Burger is the top option to go to Oakland now. All competitors are giving up minor league talent for major league talent while the White Sox will have to give up major league talent to improve

The MLB lockout is lifted!
How are adults agreeing to contracts for 12 and13 years a good thing in today's day and age? I'm still amazed that there are no issues with this.

The grime around them can still be paid off to get them to sign with a team on the open market currently.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
Tatis father was an MLB player and probably shielded away from the underbelly of this practice. Tatis didn't even get a large bonus and was not even a highly regarded prospect. The international draft, salary floor and cap work in other sports yet in baseball it cannot??????? Agents and closed books are what is killing this sport.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
I think the increased television revenue offsets this for them but the whole thing gives me a headache if I think about it too long as it will negatively impact or be neutral to the White Sox.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
The owners want more games. The owners wouldn't care if it were a two team best of 51 world series as long as they got the tv revenue. The single game thing works if its Boston/New York if it is Miami/Pittsburgh nobody cares. All playoffs are a gamble in this regard.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
The CBT is kind of odd to me in that those that benefit are not those that we are looking at to benefit. If the CBT increases I feel the top 10 percent of salaries will increase but without a floor there is no need for the middle income vets to be signed. I hope it ends today but does it change anything? Additional resources will continue to go to the small fish, the big fish pay the stars and the White Sox will still be looking for the other 50 cent..and not the one hanging upside down. Everyone seems ok with the status quo....well maybe a draft lottery but why no international draft? Am I missing something?

Genes and family finances play a role. I always think about what talent a kid may have missed because of their upbringing. I have never had the opportunity to do the nordic combined. What if I was good at that or maybe Curling. I know what I suck at that I had an opportunity to try but what about those things I could not. Maybe I could have been a great math teacher but elected finance instead.

The annual income / cash flow is not why you buy a team, it is the asset appreciation.

If it is worth $2B that is a 5% return which is good.

When were they allowed to be a full capacity? That deflates last year's revenue partially.

War in Ukraine
Why can't US troops be in the Ukraine currently?

War in Ukraine
In this day in age I am still rather perplexed as to what the end game is here for Russia. Are there resources in this land? What is the issue with the Ukraine joining NATO? I cannot find a detailed analysis s to what that means. The timing of this seems odd as Russia could have done this at any time over the last 20+ years, why now.

The teams that cry poor spend as little as little as they want and then want the big spenders to spend less to suppress salaries. When a team goes over the cap the penalty goes to the smaller revenue teams. The smaller market / revenue teams then win with a lower ceiling as they get the penalty revenue and suppression of salaries for the middle tier players. They then do not need to spend any money. Cleveland and Tampa are prime examples of spend less, rake in the revenue share, spend on younger players and live off of revenue sharing. All small market teams are doing that and it works for them but doesn't seem to appeal to the fan base. The White Sox are caught in no man's land as they don't push the cap and don't reap the rewards of multiple picks and pool increases. The players are allowing a ceiling without a floor or taking part in true revenue sharing of the sport's wealth.

2022 Catch All
I don't want to deal with the rack either and like the mobility for when we are in Michigan to check things out. No sure how a trolling motor would fair on an inflatable but they probably exist.
