  1. A modern philosophy to hitting is what this team needs. Bad at-bats and making easy outs on pitches they should take for a strike. I'd rather strike out looking on a close pitch that could go either way then swing at it on 3-2 and ground out weakly to second. Doing this when it is 0-1 or 2-0 is the mindlessness of this team and the mantra of corpseball.
  2. I can see this team not winning a series again until the end of June.
  3. If the catcher gets hurt in the top of the 9th who is going to catch the rest of the game? I would use green if it were a joke but he never pinch hits for the catcher. He has not gotten any better in four years of being a manager.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) His swing perplexes me. So many whiffs, so many foul pop ups. Then, he'll put it together and cream one to LF. He guesses and over swings He is Gordon Beckham with hotter hot streaks
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 03:45 PM) Why KW? Is there any doubt Jimmy Rollins is on this team because of KW...that just screams KW. I hope I am delusional but he still has some finger prints on how things are run. How can an unbiased person not think rollins is done as a everyday player?
  6. Yes Abreu is red hot. Two opp field singles with nobody on and a terrible at bat right there.
  7. There are currently 5 games in progress in the MLB. 7 of 10 teams have 5 or more runs 1 team has four 1 team has three 1 team is the Chicago White Sox
  8. Arietta was on the ropes a couple of times and got out of it and Kris Bryant just iced it. I know nobody cares about the cub but it is just frustrating to watch an offense bailout a pitcher while Sale crumbled, could get out of an inning and the offense retained its turtle posture. Same as today.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:27 PM) Yeah, that was just awful. Babe Diaz was on deck for them also Who then led off the 5th with a hit.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:32 PM) Avi has been on a tear, why send him to charlotte? Because he will go 0 for this next 18
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:31 PM) It would be great to change things up a bit though. DFA Rollins and Sands. Send Avi to Charlotte. Bring up Coats, Anderson, and Hayes and see who can play baseball. Would be really fun development actually. I'd keep Sands around he seems to be able to hit a little
  12. Leave Abreu in the two hole. They have no choice but to live and die with him, Rollins and Cabrerra
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) Rollins now has a .483 OPS vs RHP. Lawrie is at .760 and Melky at .769. Why is Rollins batting 2nd!! Advanced metrics and advanced scouting mystify your Chicago White Sox Jimmy Rollins simply sucks
  14. With men on 1st and 2nd and two outs and the cards mounting a comeback, Wong swing 3-0 and flew out....and then made an error to lead off the next inning. If Wong was facing the White Sox it would be a two run game tying double.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:17 PM) I don't think that Anderson is ready but I bet we see him for the start of the next home stand. The White Sox are also famous for rushing guys who are not ready and then failing. Yet they continue to do it. Saladino can at least field the ball and gives the same offensive output as Rollins. Really sad.
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) When you really look at our opponents and most of their ABs and compare that with ours you can just tell who has a better game plan at the plate. Ours has always been horses*** 90% of our games and I am tired of it. Get a whole new group in there already and change up how we go about getting ready to face a pitcher It has been that way forever with the White Sox and seems to be product of the steroid era that White Sox have not realized is over.
  17. Please end the Jimmy Rollins show Rollins has 8 RBI on 2 home runs and has a guy who has had an OBP around .400 for most of the season in front of him. Think about that. Rollins has to be a KW guy...... Sickening
  18. Wow Kluber is not even changing things up just pounding the strike zone and getting easy outs. The late inning smoke and mirror magic is gone and now we are left with a team that struggles to score more then three runs a game and is shut down rather easily.
  19. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 25, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) There's really no need to scoreboard watch 47 games into a season in my opinion. They just need to play better. Doesn't really matter what anyone else does at this point. That is my opinion....the issue is this team is unwatchable currently. Bad baseball production with low IQ.
  20. A modern hitting philosophy would be great. This team relies on the 3 pitch at bat, weak out via hitting a pitchers pitch for years now. Swing at he first strike you see regardless of where it is....assuming it is a strike.
  21. QUOTE (soxfan85 @ May 25, 2016 -> 01:49 PM) Must be nice to have an offense that can actually score runs on a consistent basis. We are down 2-0 here an it already feels like it is over. 31 runs in last 11 games and that includes a 7 run performance which in that span was the only time they scored more than 5 runs. 8 other times they scored three runs or less.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 01:31 PM) Hopefully KC and Tigers games stay same score I really do not care about the standings I care more about the team I want to watch being unwatchable for two weeks now. The 8th run 8th seems to have taken the confidence away from the bullpen and the hitting is now unmasked as being awful.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) 7 pitch inning for Kluber Going to be one of these days. Not even good at bats out of the gate and then the lead off single. In other news cubs are back on track after Arrieta gave up a run, they got 6 back. Jake will throw about 95 pitches today to get the win rather easily and only be rivaled by Klubers 91 pitch compete game.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) You knew as soon as they signed him that he would get way too much playing time. I get that early on...see what he has. He has nothing left especially on defense, he is a garden gnome. This is the same organization that felt Avi Garcia could be a centerfielder though so I guess I should not be surprised.
