QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Mar 23, 2016 -> 09:51 AM) Part of her ring leading it was due to her (temporary?) anger at HHM. I wonder if she ends up leaving HHM, and that helps push Jimmy to leave Davis and Main and ultimately become Saul. As someone mentioned, the previews show Jimmy wearing a loud suit...signs that Saul emerges soon? The floppy inflatable flying guy was shown as well

Didn't he have a great spring two years ago as well.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) I suppose she could, but the con thing with Giselle and Viktor seems like more of a game to her. She doesn't ever cross the line for it to be a real con. Remember they make it clear that she isn't cashing the check, but instead is saving it as a souvenir to put on her nightstand mirror. Yes but she went from not being a part of it, to taking part in it, to ring leading it.......

QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 11:40 PM) Couldn't have said it better. Yes, my curiosity also as well when it comes to the excitement part. In a tight game that has some drama in key situations, am looking forward to see what he has to bring. Hoping he unloads. Plus being a newbie, he doesn't seem to shy away from mixing up the one liners with Stone. Sometimes the new guy on the block will be pretty reserved with a veteran. I'm sure that some of his reservations will decrease the more that him and Stone get to work together and get used to one another's little nuances. (lastly he's NOT Chuck Swirsky. Man did I ever fear that that friggin' wet noodle of an announcer was going to get the job). His cohesion with stone is smooth already. They play off one another nicely, similar to Jackson and Farmer but it is more natural and organic in nature. I get the feeling he will not be as excitable nor be a pitch man the game will be the game. Seems comfortable being second fiddle to the professional but also willing to bring about a good dry sense of humor.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) I think when he breaks from what makes him Jimmy, it when he quits caring about that ethical voice in his head that keeps him a little bit grounded. When those influences are gone, that is when he becomes Saul. They have already set up that with Kim lecturing Jimmy about the commercials and things like the cons he pulls to get on to the bus with the Sandpiper residents, etc. I agree with you until last night. She fleeced the guy for $10K last night and seems to be following Jimmy Why can't she be in on the con all the way through. Makes the Omaha jump a bigger issue for him......

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 12:19 PM) Saul won't come until all of Jimmy's bridges to his old life are burned. That includes Chuck, Kim, HHM, etc. I also get the feeling that a temptation from Mike will be what brings him down that road for good. Why does Kim need to be out of the picture?

I am a Hawk fan but Benetti is a professional and Stone sounds much better with him. My lord the difference was huge. I finally watched some the game from Saturday and heard him for the first time.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 08:47 AM) On the parking garage? Yes they were. and in the taco joint. You think Mike does something very heinous to the uncle....... The Mike story-line is great and a part of me thinks it is becasue I know somewhat how it ends.

If Loney is brought in he better play first he is a defensive whiz. Abreu is terrible over there.

QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 01:59 PM) The only real item of substance from the statement from LaRoche is that he was asked to not bring Drake around at all. Someone is lying, and in a major way based on how this story has unfolded. Which may lead to the end of KW if this indeed the truth. So KW may be gone and they save $13M.....this story just keeps getting better. There is a lot of smoke around KW at this point.

Good Morning America and Robin Roberts put the quote there that they just wanted him to "dial it back" seems everyone is in agreement with the White Sox on this and those that are not have some other agenda.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 03:37 PM) How many times could Don Cooper say Bulls*** in 5 minutes? I would guess one of the guys that was pissed about the kid hanging around was Cooper.

An overlooked issue is the multi-millionaire with access to advantages that 90% of Americans do not, saying that school is not important. I am starting to think that Adam LaRoche is one f'd up guy. This guy and his kid is pretty set for life but his message is horrendous and his kid now bears the weight of this bad decision regardless of what is said to him. Think about that for minute. Also in regard to the the "agreement' for child access t othe team all season. My guess is that he White Sox did not think it would be abused and used to excess.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:53 AM) Or he just wants to be with his family. His dad said he wouldn't have signed with the White Sox had they not told him having his kid around would be a problem. In the articles I linked he even mentioned there are a lot of teams that ban kids. I The kid is not banned. The White Sox did not believe he would be with the team 24/7 every day of the season which is wholly unacceptable. Can you explain why you feel the White Sox employees are responsible for this kid, they are not a day care facility?

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 09:43 AM) With what so many professional athletes do on the road, it's amazing to me they'd ever want any particular kid so heavily involved in the clubhouse. It's one thing to know your teammates will keep their mouth shut, but it's another to trust a teenager to keep secrets. I get the feeling this is a bigger thing if not the biggest.

My guess is LaRoche had two lockers at home and he let his son use one, the son was not given a locker. If his son is traveling with the team and staying with the team when they are on the road, that seems very wrong to me There seems to be no issue with the fact this kid was involved in almost every aspect of the team whether it was video assistance, working on drills, shagging fly balls...the whole nine yards. It seems like the Chicago White Sox bacame the care takers of this kid Ultimately I think it was some players and coaches that had enough of it and brought he issue to Williams I am sure all players bring someone to the park from time to time but this is something bigger. This kid was made a part of the organization and participated in things that siblings of players should not be involved in most notably on field drills. If I am an MLB player I do not want a 14 year old kid taking part in my drills. If I am the video guy I do not want a 14 year old kid sitting around me when I need to decide on whether to review a play....the White Sox seemed to have issues with this. Indiscretions take place in the workplace especially while on the road and why should a 14 year old kid be part of my professional world place? This is really a non-story. Laroche was wrong plan and simple. The whole thing seems a little creepy to me as well. Every kid dreams of being in the big leagues and this kid is living his dream so to speak but enough is enough.

QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 05:04 PM) If we are going by what we know and the timeline, no one knew this was going to reach these levels. They sounded surprised LaRoche decided to retire over this. However, you knew LaRoche wasn't going to be pleased with that ask. Williams is there for this purpose. This is his job. Ventura has to be in the clubhouse every day and that could have created a bad situation if LaRoche was pissed but stayed with the club, which I'm sure the entire front office assumed was going to happen. I don't think you want to put Ventura, or any manager in that situation. How do we know that Ventura did not approach him and he told Ventura to get lost? Same thing with Hahn? M I actually now find this story pretty damn funny becasue the Sox win across the board in this and LaRoche looks like a tool.
-
Am I the only one that thinks it was probably pretty f***ing creepy to have a 14 year old kid hanging around every day. I cannot see any player really accepting that. All of a sudden the locker room is something out of Romper Room.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) I'm talking about what is still an incredibly unlikely scenario where Trump actually participates in a deal to nominate somebody else, as opposed to it happening behind his back or whatever. I agree that if Trump has 40+% of the delegates and he gets pushed out of the nomination against his will it will ruin the party's chances in November. I will not vote for Trump over Hillary then I will not vote for Hillary over any other Democrat Whoever is not Trump or Hillary gets my vote Am I too arrogant to think this is the smartest move and what a majority of America is thinking?

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) Feel comfortable saying Foxx wins. So happy. She's exactly what's needed. Something doesn't feel right with her. She has almost no experience and she came from county government. Not sure there is much difference or even any improvement. Every facet of Illinois government is broken and she just seems like a cog that will pander to the vocal liberals. The city is in bad shape from a criminal standpoint and her message did not appear to be looking to solve anything.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 09:32 AM) As usual, George Carlin said it best. The bolded is one of my all time favorite quotes. “Goddam there's a lot of stupid bastards walking around. Carry a little pad and pencil with you. You'll wind up with thirty or forty names by the end of the day. Look at it this way: Think of how stupid the average person is and then realize that half of them are stupider than that. And it doesn't take you very long to spot one of them does it? Take you about eight seconds. You'll be listening to some guy...you say..."this guy is f***ing stupid!"” Maybe I am just getting old (I am 45 years old) but I amazed at how many times I find myself wondering how stupid people really are. I do not mean stupid in that they are uneducated but stupid in that they have a shortsighted idea of how the world works. This campaign season is the prime example. I was trying to explain to my wife that there is no way Trump wins the general election. I hate Hillary Clinton but she will win in a landslide against Trump. Trump is the personification of the stupidity of the American people at this point in time. I still believe his run for presidency is simply an attempt to tear apart the Republican party and it is working like a charm. He is pandering to the least common denominator and doing it masterfully. The odd part about it is that he is not part of the religious right yet that sect seems to no longer be an issue. Anyone that is voting for Trump in a primary is wasting their vote. I stated yesterday that Kahlish is the only viable Republican and he was overshadowed by the crap that has been run out there for the last few months by the republican party. If the Republicans had any candidate worth anything, I think they beat Hillary in November.....Trump/Hillary will make Reagan v Mondale look like a race. IMHO

Winning is fung and fung is winning Everything other than winning is BS.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 12:06 AM) That 30 for 30 on Duke Lacrosse was amazing. Beyond crazy of how things ended up. How in the world did Nifong (District Attorney) only get 1 day in jail when he tried to ruin 3 kids lives? I think the media was the terrifying part to that story and sadly nothing was learned. Similar to the Yale basketball player.
-
Am I crazy to think Kasich is the only candidate that could beat Hillary? I am not a Hillary fan but I am not certain I would vote for Trump, Rubio or Cruz.

I know it means nothing but I think it means something to have success in spring....if that makes any sense. Very few teams can flip the switch so to speak.
