The thing that made the second Taj dunk so impressive is he is literally standing there and the next second he is throwing it down. The thing that makes the Bulls good was what the TNT guys pointed out. When Korver and Rose went to the pick and roll, it took the three best defensive players out of the defensive set. They are so well coached that even at halftime if your game plan is working you have to change it up. The Bulls defense is also constructed to aid in the iso play. You can beat one guy but the help is always there which allows Deng to play up on LeBron. Bosh could have a great series in this regard but it will not matter. Rose looks healthy as well. The TNT guys are light years better than the ESPN puff machine. Smith, Chuck and Chris all explained why they think the Bulls will win and it happened last night. Was also funny to see the arena being taken down around them.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 16, 2011 -> 11:06 AM) There's loyalty, and then there's insanity. Juan Pierre still leading off for the White Sox is f***ing insane and inexcusable. What is funny is being loyal to a guy who has been here for a little over one year.

QUOTE (forrestg @ May 16, 2011 -> 10:37 AM) If we did have a person who could play short better than Ramirez (not counting visquel) Alexei can play 3rd as well as anyone . You are thinking of Uribe. Pierre is going nowhere. The easy answer is to put Lillibridge in LF for a week or two and see what happens. Sadly, it is not going to happen though. The bad part about it, is Pierre does nothing positive. All you need to do is look at the White Sox first inning scoring.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 15, 2011 -> 05:27 PM) So how is Crisp gonna torture this team in the 9th? If he gets on just put him at 2nd. He and Matsui will somehow account for a run. -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2011 -> 05:08 PM) It does seem like it's against the law for our base coaches to communicate with the base runners. There seems to be no coaching at all except for Cooper in this organization. This is a prime Sunday get away day blown save that Jenks made famous the last couple of years. -

With this pitching staff all the hitting and defense need to do is be fundamentally sound and they would have a good thing going. -

folks juan pierre will be in there the entire season as he is a slow starter and guillen has a history of sticking with players. sadly performance does not really dictate how guillen manges a player -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2011 -> 08:07 AM) Six days and already the Royals have to worry about losing a player to free agency... That has to be a record. I will say this model worked terrifically for Joe Crede and Kevin Millwood. It may be me but I will give up $10M to make $40M instead of giving up $10M to make $10M but that is just me.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 12, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) That has nothing to do with being worried about what he thinks of him. It is also a big stretch to equate Omar to Pierre. One of them is a Hall of Famer in waiting. In Guillen's book so is Pierre Pierre will get hot here fora couple of days like last night and Guillne will leave him in there reality be damned. The grinderliciousness of pierre will keep him in there. Pods was just as bad as Pierre in LF. There is no reason while Lillibridge is hitting to not get him in there a couple of times a week.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2011 -> 10:42 PM) For 5 million a year and playing twice a week, you'd think he'd have enough energy to hustle down the first base line instead of reaching first in about 7 seconds. the dude is fat and out shape what do you want he looks like he put on a good 20 pounds takes a while to adjust to being fat -

teahen is almost as big a waste of player as pierre is. he is guaranteed to foul a pitch off to the left and then hit a seven hopper -
